However when I moved to a city recently, and with more diversity, that’s when I’ve gotten stereotypes like people assuming I only spoke Spanish and they’d trying speaking Spanish to me, and then being surprised that I’m a full English speaker. Now, I pretend that I don’t speak Spanish

I’m white btw. If she said those white people comments to me, it would be normal to me. Some people have said similar things to me and I never thought much of it. It is all about a fun learning experience. Those kinds of comments are ice breakers to some of the best conversations I have ever had. People ask me about my culture and I get to ask them about theirs. I love what I learn and I try a lot of new things I might never have known about if those kinds of conversations never happened.
