I absolutely adore the laughter of Frank when he's trying to carry on with what he's saying, same as on the Dean Martin show, they couldn't keep a straight face! Truly adorable, great comedians and beautiful singers...what a great time the 50s must've been :)

Benny...so relaxed, so confident. Frank has great singing timing, but Benny's timing is legendary.

I know it wasn't lost on many that the opening caricature of Frank compared him to a TV antenna. Of course, this was before he filled out.

Frank is in great, swinging voice here.. iconic mid-early Sinatra!

Hey guys, thanks for watching and sorry for the really long wait for the next 2 parts; I've uploaded them in the past 3 days but they always freeze up on me in processing.

When older we all see the past though rose tinted glasses. But you do not get shows like this anymore. Thanks jenny1340.

There was only one Sinatra, but his TV show didn’t last long. The same with Jerry Lewis. However, Jack Benny and Dean Martin were very successful on their TV shows. I think it has to do with being naturally funny and likable. Sinatra was the greatest saloon singer ever and nobody could phrase a song like Francis Albert. People however didn’t find Sinatra funny or likable. Andy Williams was successful on TV because he was likable and a nice guy. I think there has to be a little vulnerability to make people like you and feel comfortable watching you every week.

Frank had a very specific humor sense. When he joked he always meant something serious. And of course he was too tense and serious, business-like for being a TV star. But that's what makes him the one and the only Frank Sinatra.

@bigred997 Yeah he was an accomplished violinist. To me he sounds like a good one trying to play bad, especially on radio, and I've played for a decade. In fact he played in dead seriousness "Love in Bloom" in "60 Piece Orchestra Skit" and rehearsed it over 20 times with the orchestra he hired for $6000, but I can't find an existing copy of that show (I'd LOVE to hear it...). There are newspaper reports on that show though. But of course bad violinists get more laughs and it takes less effort ;)
