These are so cute! They remind me of the autograph hounds we had here in the States in the 1980's. You would take these long fabric dogs to high school when you were getting ready to graduate and have all your friends sign it to remember them. Super cute idea for the home 🏡!
I made a similar one of these 48 yrs ago and my baby son fell in love with it. It got dragged everywhere for years. I made a second one when it got tatty but that didn't smell the same, so the old one got patched and patched. (I just put felt eyelashes on mine.) This brought back so many lovely memories: thank you.
This will be my first sewing project in over 20 years. I appreciate how simple you have made it, no need for a pattern and such a fantastic end result. Many many thanks!
I wanted a heavy draught excluder, so I filled mine with generic brand kitty litter. This makes it easier to push it right up to the gap at the bottom of the door.
I'm loving these vids. ( and your sewing machine) just realised "Santa" brought me my machine when I was about 13 -eek 30 yrs ago!!! Id love an upgrade :)
Hi all, Debbie you are very creative, thanks for inspiration.... i find useful and practical (price wise) buying pillows (for stuffing) from second hand shops, just give it a nice TLC (Wash, disinfect with peroxide) and good to go ....

How long do you think this would take for a complete beginner with no sewing machine?! Also how do you do the extra stitching on the bottom after you've turned it inside out & stuffed it, is there a name for it? Obviously I don't want the ends of the fabric showing.. thanks :)
ecureuil85 I use a ladder stitch to close the opening, an over edge stitch would be okay, you don't really see these stitches as they're underneath the dog. I've not made it without a sewing machine, so I don't really know how long it would take, half a day maybe?
hi all for my waddring I see if anyone has a old sofa with the waddring filled cushions and I use that as well as old pillows too it can save a lot by doing this hope it helps.

+dogandcatmum I use Collal or Guttermann wet glues, hope that helps!
I think I would attach the ears and legs with velcro. That little dog would be in the washing machine every other day at my house.

For things like this I buy inexpensive pillows with a hollowfibre filling, much cheaper than kapok!
