This was the uke that started it all for me Bought a Centurion as a gift for myself after being hospitalized and bedridden for a few weeks last summer Didn’t really play any instruments before that point, but went nuts for these ukes and have since gotten a lovely Fanner Pixelator and a matching Fender electric guitar as well The Flight Centurion is really well made for its price point, my only negatives after having mine for nearly 8 months: - Quality Control of the Electronics: Mine stopped working after 2 months and had to be returned for repairs (which resulted in more damages) - The zero-fret will wear down really quickly after a few months of frequent playing, getting "notched" by the string tension, which might cause issues for some
Nice reading this Oizzy, Thanks. Sounds like you are very much into them now and Thanks for mentioning the fret wear and electronic issues, will keep an eye on mine. Enjoy rocking on them! 🤘
Great review, thank you. I have been waiting to see what you thought. I absolutely love my Centurian. I will look fwrd to your comparison review in due course with the risa. 👍🥂😁
Glad you enjoyed and yes, a fab electric uke. I did also manage to compare with the Vanguard and Pathfinder too so, will get my skate on to edit them all. 👍
I do love ðe flight rock series, it looks and sounds stunning. Just wish it came wið a tremolo (whammy bar) and floating bridge option. Maybe a future version of one. How does it compare to a vanguard?
Yes, a tremolo would be VERY cool. I have done a comparison with the Vanguard and the Pathfinder which should be coming fairly soon. It is different to the Vanguard in both looks and sound, my personal preference would be the Vanguard but it will be interesting to hear the comparison. I filmed it weeks and weeks ago and have not had a chance to edit it yet. 👍
@@UkuleleWales which version of ðe paþfinder? Tenor or Bari? I do love ðe deeper sound of a Bari but even ðe tenor is different anyway. Probably as close to a ukulele stratocaster as we’re gonna get. For me PRS is nicer ðan a strat hence ðe reason for ðe vanguard for me but it is subjective opinion.
ARCTIC monkeys on an electric uke?!!?! NOW THATs something the world needs to hear!! Ya sold me in 5 seconds... u beautiful soul.....thank you for living a life of artistry and distribution of holy sounds. my dream is to acquire such an instrument and at the very least play half as good as you
Hi Rachel I was thinking wonder what rock would sound like then you bust out the smoke on the water riff lol I can manage Johnny b good on a soprano ! And Reggae on my tiny teeny sopranino ( even though I have hands like dainty shovels and I can reach the bridge with my little finger while my thumb is at the nut ) I may get one as I'd like to see what the faces 'stay with me 'sounds like I'll let you know🎸🎸👍
Great question. You can use any guitar amp with your electric ukulele. Electric guitar amps tend to have more built in effects, gain and can be louder. Acoustic guitar amps do work but are better for electro acoustic ukes but many have 2 unjust for instrument & mic. 👍
@@UkuleleWales Thank you! We got the flight electric uke and an electric amp, so I'm happy that we got the right amp! Hear this: our string kept popping till we realized that the tuning was supposed to be a low G.
I’d say different rather than more difficult. I’d guess if you’d played electric guitar before that would be of help in terms of techniques but the hoards are the same as an acoustic uke. 👍
Your an amazing musician! Hope to see you live one day, thank you for review
That’s lovely, Thank You. 😊

Oh wow can’t wait to see that. Thanks for all you do in teaching uku in Wales. 👍😁🥂
I think. You'll find that Rachel's channel is mostly about ukuleles not old British tanks ? ( Or Roman Soldiers! thank you !!!). 🤣🤣

Did you edit the comparison review weigh pathfinder and vanguard Rachel? 👍
i would love to see that in blue
Only in Gold sorry as it is a copy of the famous Gibson gold top guitar J. 👍

How does it compare to a vanguard?
Uh oh, I shouldn't have watched this!
It's gorgeous and affordable. I never thought I'd want an electric. 😅
@@oldcrow6990 I have a black vanguard and honestly, it’s my favourite uke of my collection. It’s a lot of fun to play

Thanks Steve, yes a great electric uke!
Really enjoyed that Rachel it's a gorgeous looking instrument and it sounds fantastic, great demo so keep them coming❤

Do you have a comparison of the Vanguard vs the Centurion?
Which amplifier should I use with the flight electric ones that you are using?

Hi, what is this tuned to, is it dgbe like a standard electric guitar?
These are tuned like ukuleles so GCEA
Damnit. Now I want one
Great review Rachel !
Thanks Bonnie, it was lovely to try out but I just couldn’t justify keeping it!!

I’m managed to pick up a Centurion on marketplace today. Not the gold one but great sound
Nice! I must admit, I do like to Vintage Top, great looking uke!
Love it! Someday….
Fingers crossed for you Denise 🤞
That's just crying out to be plugged in to a Marshall Stack! Happen to have one in the studio. hint, hint! lol 😎
I haven’t got this one any more but maybe a Fanner or a Flight Vanguard?? Want to try your mini bass rig too! 👍
