10/10 chance Shane Hmiel was high as a kite in that interview.
I still think Tony Stewart backing up into Brad Keselowski after Brad's post-race antics is one of the greatest/coolest moves in the history of NASCAR.

@@GiDD504NASCAR has changed a lot between 2003 and now. 2003 was the last year of the Winston Cup era and points format and a lot of people consider that the end of the golden era

@@GiDD504 In 2004, NASCAR switched to the new "Chase For The Cup" format along with new series sponsor Nextel which a few years later would be bought by Sprint. So that was the Nextel Cup/Sprint Cup era. Then in 2015, NASCAR switched to the current playoff format and in 2016 added stages and stage points to the playoffs and switched from the old rule of Top 35 in points are locked in to the race every week and whoever is outside the Top 35 has to "go or go home" in qualifying to make the show (43 car fields, usually more than 43 cars attempted the race) to the new charter system where if you buy a charter you are locked in to every race and only unchartered rides get eliminated if more than 40 cars (36 chartered rides) attempt the race. But we rarely even see 40 cars show up anymore so nobody misses the race anymore except for the Daytona 500 where a bunch of unchartered cars attempt that race every year. Few years later, Sprint left as series sponsor and was briefly replaced by Monster Energy before the cup series just dropped series sponsors altogether and is now just the NASCAR Cup Series

When he went to hit the back of Gordon's car, he probably just wanted to bump him back after getting ran up the track by Gordon, who was already upset and brake-checked Burton causing the wreck.
