Alpharius Omegon, also known as the "Aleph Null," "The Hydra," the "Threefold Serpent," "The Final Configuration" and the "Last Primarch," was one of the twenty primarchs created by the Emperor of Mankind in the earliest days of the Imperium of Man, just after the end of the Age of Strife in the 30th Millennium. In truth, Alpharius Omegon was actually a pair of identical twin brothers, one named Alpharius and the other Omegon.
Of all the primarchs of the Legiones Astartes, Alpharius was without a doubt the most steeped in mystery, legend, contradiction and deliberate falsification. The primarch of the Alpha Legion shrouded himself in mystery, often moving unseen even amongst the ranks of his own Legion.
However, when the time came to cast off the cloak of misdirection, Alpharius was as awe-inspiring a being as any of his brother primarchs. Clad in armour forged in the manner of some terrifying beast of ancient Terran myth and armed with a fearsome panoply of weapons of unknown provenance, Alpharius bestrode the battlefield like a figure from legend.

My favorite Alpha Legion bit is in their section of the CSM codex.
A Chaos Lord claiming to be Alpharius was raiding some star system, so the High Lords dispatched a bunch of Vindicare Assassins to deal with them. They assassinated a bunch of Lords all claiming to be Alpharius, but the raids didn't even miss a beat. A few months later, the severed heads of all the Assassins were found in the High Lords' food pantry.

I love the implication that Alpharius/Omegon snuck into the imperial records in order to leave fanfiction about himself. It adds an extra subtext to the fact he spends so much time going on about how cool and special he is and makes a point to make sure the reader knows what a nice guy he is.
I like the implication of this implication that he's inside Imperial Palace, and _never_ left. He's just been masterminding everything from the comfort of his hidden secret room just below the Golden Throne.
After the Horus Heresy, he snuck into the Palace, and just stayed there. Especially since he can make himself imperceivable, he could just walk anywhere without anyone the wiser.

One thing I’m absolutely happy about this video, as an Alpha Legion player, is that there wasn’t an Among Us joke every five minutes or that Alpharious wasn’t called Alphari-sus

However, we have no way of knowing if they actually had that power, or if that too was a lie.

I've read all the Horus Heresy novels, but I've never read the Head of the Hydra book. I honestly had NO idea about any of these plot details that Bricky talked about after the 26 minute mark. I am genuinely shocked at this revelation of Alpharius being found so early, becoming the instigator of the Custodes Blood Games (which is actually a really cool reveal) and the fact they switched identities later (though I have no doubt they both acted the part of each other on multiple occasions).
It does make 1 thing I always wondered about make a lot more sense as well, because something always bothered me about the Alpha Legion being so late to the game and yet they were so awesome at infiltration and espionage and having spies and hidden assets everywhere galaxy wide in such a short space of time. Now it works better because as the 1st, Alpharius really had longer than anyone to build his network and set up plans and contingencies all over the place. Pretty neat.
Frankly, I have a head canon that Alpharius somehow found a way to utilize the time fucky-wuckiness of the warp, and every member of the alpha legion is literally different Alphariuses from alternate timelines.

Apparently he makes a Potion from his blood which when drunk by someone with his Geneseed will make them grow in size and gain the memories of Alpharius.
So when someone says "I am Alpharius" they're not lying. Effectively they are another Alpharius.

This content is super neat! I really like the unique method of storytelling of having one person tell the story to another and the organic interaction and questions that pop up in the exchange. Great delivery by the storyteller dude and listener guy has a great report and by seeming so interested in the story makes the tale even more interesting to us lol. Very cool.

It's the Alpha Legion, there's always a fake out.
Anyone at any time in Alpha Legion: "our primarchs left us a 100 page codex on what to do after the horus heresy, and we're only halfway done...on the first page."
The thing about the Cabal's prophecies is that they were Eldrad's visions. Eldrad, even 10,000 years before, was the most powerful of all of the Aeldari seers who individually could see futures far better than the Emperor could. Eldrad could literally follow anything that happened to its ultimate conclusion, no matter how minor, then find the exact sequence of events that would lead to the outcome he wanted. That's what makes me think that the Alpha Legion chose hidden option C and do both in an attempt to destroy Chaos while ultimately saving humanity and if they had to sacrifice the Emperor and play the long game then so be it.
I also like Alan Bligh's, one of the original lore people for 40k, pet theory that the Emperor is a weapon from the Age of Technology that got left out of its box. The way Malcador is almost always with him and with Malcador being both 6,000 years old himself and the last surviving member of an order who made it their lifes work to chronicle the history of humanity and preserve their artifacts makes me wonder what their true relationship is and how they met. Could the Emperor be the ultimate evolution of the Men of Gold? Is it just something that believes it is human with the imperative to ensure the survival of humanity? Could Alpharius be in on that secret? After all, the Emperor seemed oblivious to his presence when he tried to 'assassinate' him but Malcador discovered him so what does that say about how his gift affected the Emperor?

There's something afoot with 40k lore lately, and I think reintroducing Alpharius this way is partially and indication that his character will have some part in it. Alpharius was also mentioned in Dan Abnett's "Pariah", and in an interview he mentioned that the Bequin series will be involved in driving the lore forward.

If you wanted to run a "Loyalist" Alpha Legion army, you _could_ grab a bunch of loyalist space marine models, paint them in the Alpha Legion color scheme, and then run them using the loyalist space marine rules as a custom chapter. It works for the Fallen.
For that matter, you could run an "Alpha Legion" force by painting a space marine army as a completely different chapter, but say that they're really Alpha Legion in disguise. Because the Alpha Legion have been known to pose as other groups.
The only think I'm sure, the Alpha Legion is FAMILY.

The more I've gone back through and seen more of Alpha legion myself, I almost wonder if they are both chaos and loyalist. Like, what if the legion just split itself in to two in likeness of their duel primarchs and are maintaining constant espionage on each other while also keeping their own division secret. How nutty would that be?
I think that too. I mean we know of traitor alpha legion who are deeply chaos. But that just means that the Loyalist AL are very good at their job.
I also like to think that both Alpha Legion groups work with their respective side of the Fallen.
And they all run and hide from both the Dark Angels and the Inquisition.

Legion by Dan Abnett is a great Alpha Legion book. Deliverance Lost is a Raven Guard book that features the Alpha Legion and both their primarchs heavily. Either book would be great research for the Alpa Legion episode.

I believe Alpharius is Loyalist, for me that makes the most sense. I believe he was raised by Malcador, that he was actually okay towards humans. I believe Omegon might be a Traitor, the one who met Horus, gained great reactions from Horus. I believe that most of the Alpha Legion do not know the sole purpose of Omegon and Alpharius, and that they secretly work towards both prophecies at the same time. I believe that Dorn killed Omegon, because Omegon was never as trained as Alpharius, never as Stealthy, Alpharius would not have fought Dorn. I believe that some of this, is a lie.
that is how I think about Alpharius and Omegon, in the short story The board is set. Only Alpharius & Omegon's Loyalty is uncertain.

I suspect this was a choice they both agreed on. The prophecies for them never said what would happen if only one become a traitor. I don't think they were lying when they decided to kill Chaos. I suspect O had more interaction with the Alpha Legion, and most of the legion followed him into Chaos.

I'm not convinced that the Alpha Legion hasn't lost track of things by this point, so that in 40k not even the Alpha Legion knows if they are traitors or loyalists.

@@TheSchultinator I think Alpha Legion just doesn't care what side they're on. They're the ultimate sleeper cell. They don't get told "Go pretend to be chaos, and then in 100 years you activate and we turn on them." They just get told "You're chaos now." and they go and join chaos. However, because they're 110% duplicitous, they have no loyalty to any creed or faction, so if you then come back to those guys 1000 years later and say "Good job, now you're loyalist again." they'll switch sides without questioning. The demonic mutations might make blending in harder, but what's life without a little challenge.
It's my headcanon that the Deathwatch is positivity crawling with Alpha Legion infiltrators

Everyone in the Deathwatch is an Alpha Legionnaire and they each think the rest of regular Deathwatch and thus it is all going to plan cuz the cover remains intact.

My headcannon is that whenever dorn killed Alpharius, or Omegon, the soul left that body and returned to its other half, so Alpharius-Omegon is now whole again. So neither Alpharius or Omegon are dead, instead have become a single primarch together. Would really play into the whole "We are One" thing.
I like this. A variation off this. If the Demi-primarchs can become a full Primarch by injecting at least one half of their Primarch’s soul.
Alternatively, the soul went into a random Alpha Legion marine, which then boosted that marine's physical attributes, and also gets the memories.
If that worked.. why didn't one of them commit suicide much earlier?
Or they possessed one of the non-alpharius alpharius marines, because why not!
In my head canon, alpharius and omegon bridge the gap between main canon and "The Roubutian Heresy".

I mean if you like Alpha Legion but don't like Chaos then you could just get loyalist space marines and paint them as Alpha Legion.
The best part about playing Alpha Legion is that you can just mash together other marines and say they're all Alpha Legionaires in disguise.
If I remember correctly, during the "Faith and Fury" Supplement Book, the Alpha Legion turned an entire imperial planet into psychers, but instead of becoming demon infested, the world manifested storms of golden fire, armys of golden warriors, swarms of doves and stuff like that AGAINST the traitor astartes. So in a way, they helped the loyalists.

I've always held that the twins were told of two possible futures, but neither one was an acceptable victory condition. The Alpha Legion's insane fuckery is their decision - choose neither path and hopefully force a third option. By playing against everyone they just might break the prophecy altogether.

Well the Alpha Legion actually uses non astartes/normal humans.
They even technically count as Legionnaires.
It does sound very silly yes. Although apparently it helps that the Alpha legion uses power armor that can shift its coloring in a way that effectively makes it adaptive camouflage. Why don't ALL the space marines use this adaptive cammo feature? I dunno.
@@hfar_in_the_sky Cost probably and the fact that most other Astartes' doctrines don't include nearly as much espionage/stealth tactics. So it's not worth the cost.
