This is the first product from getzen in a long time that is really exciting. I love old super deluxes. Super under appreciated vintage horns and this one seems to really bring out the soul of those vintage horns.
This the sound I'm carving for. Is this horn suitable only for experienced pro players or could also be a good choice for students of a couple of years of experience?
Thank you for this video, Trent! BTW, since more than a few classic Severinsen Eternas have passed through your hands over the years, how would you describe how this new version compares to it?
I wish that Getzen put more of the "art deco" style into this trumpet. I have a Getzen Super Deluxe Copra-Temp and all the neat copper adornments and stylistic bracing really adds a lot of character. The engraving on the 900DLX bell is nice, but other than that, it doesn't really look "art deco" styled.
The Super Deluxe vintage horns were dogs in my opinion I am 100% happy they chose what they did. They obviously know more than we do when it comes to making a great horn.
@@austincustom oh I never said they were great horns as far as tone or playability 😜 for example, mine has a gap of .469" which is insane, as well as bad intonation and response. I will say though that I love the way the old horns looked! These new horns are gorgeous in their own way though ☺️
Sounds truly beautiful. But you play at the shop then in a different area on another video, so it is difficult to assess because of different acoustics each time you play. Pretty sure this Getzen is a winner. I am not worthy to buy a $3k trumpet but can't afford it anyway. My best trumpets are Reynolds Contempora and two Reynolds Pro which I love for their sound and ease of play. Reynolds is an underrated excellent trumpet; don't know why as Reynolds himself was a legend in his craft.
2 questions: 1 is this trumpet versatile for all around purposes? I mean in comparison to a stradivarius 18037g, for example. 2 are they still producing it , or it is a limited edition? Thank you.
Hi Trent, I got this Getzen just few days ago, is wonderful! What of your mouthpiece do you think is the better choice for making a mellow sound with this trumpet? Thanks
Hmm, none of the Getzen Super Deluxe trumpets I've had were bottom sprung (I've had 2 and played a 3rd). They must have gone away with that pretty quickly
I think you could play commercial music on it no problem with the right mouthpiece match. My Getzen Cornet has an incredible high register and pop to it!

First listened on my phone through my car speakers and was not digging it. Then listened again at home on my computer. NICE! Great offering Getzen!
I had a couple of the old Eterna's back in the day. Loved them. This seems like a nice horn, too!
Indeed!
Lovely sound, Sir.
Wow! That horn seems to work great for you allround!
Man oh man. Haven’t seen a Getzen trumpet models review on TH-cam in a long time. Great Job Trent!
Oh God that does sound beautiful
The slots and response sounds very clean!
(But, then again, Trent can play on a glass bottle and make it sound great)
This is the horn I should have bought, but I had to have a 50th Anniversary Bach. I own a Getzen Eterna 2. Getzen makes a quality horn

What is your opinion on the getzen eterna s cornet. Also the getzen eterna 4 valve flugelhorn 🤔
Thank you for this video, Trent! BTW, since more than a few classic Severinsen Eternas have passed through your hands over the years, how would you describe how this new version compares to it?
Oh man I bet with a sterling leadpipe and a copper bell that thing plays like a beast

Beautiful horn! How does the rounded tuning slide effect the blow as opposed to the D shape?

Yes... super versatile and yes Getzen is still making these!
@@austincustom thank you so much. Is the bell (and the trumpet) handcrafted?
@@bernardomanara389 yes. Any specific questions about how they make their instruments should go directly to Getzen.
@@austincustom thank you again!
@@austincustom ok, but this model is aimed to be a pro (high level) one, anyway?
Love it.

Hi Livio,
Please email us at mpcsales@austincustombrass.com and we can help! Cheers!
How does the 900DLX compare to the 900S, build specs and particularly playing wise ?
We're not that familiar with the 900s but the dlx is a work of art that plays incredibly well.
Sweet
Hey Trent, Are you going to regularly carry the 900 Deluxe?
We are thinking about it! :)
Trent Austin if given a vote, I would!!
Are the valves bottom sprung as in the original 90 deluxe ?
no. These are standard top-sprung. The horn is incredible!
Hmm, none of the Getzen Super Deluxe trumpets I've had were bottom sprung (I've had 2 and played a 3rd). They must have gone away with that pretty quickly
First to give a thumbs up...!!!
I take it that this model is not for commercial or lead big band jazz playing. Unless it's just you, it sounds incredibly dark.
I think you could play commercial music on it no problem with the right mouthpiece match. My Getzen Cornet has an incredible high register and pop to it!
Bill, try the 907DLX, it has a yelllow brass bell and will likely take heads off in the upper register!
So what's the sale price on this bad boy new trumpet?
$2,100
looks like a rip-off of the Conn Director with the "Rose" colored bell, back in the early '60's. My brother had one back in '64
Or perhaps getzen re-introduced a model day we're making in the '50s 🙄

@@peterc.7841 Thanks was talking into the phone. Thank you for the clarification.
