Oh man I wonder if I still have the can! I got it colour matched at behr and it was almost identical! But I know a lot of other paint stores will match it too as long as you have a sample for them.
I use Valspar’s cabinet and furniture paint, which is also an enamel-based paint with built in topcoat. But when I spray dark colors, I feel that I leave what looks like dusty fingerprints whenever I touch the surface. It’s very annoying. Have you not experienced that with Behrs version? Does Behrs version also require four weeks to fully cure? If that’s the case, I just haven’t been comfortable skipping a topcoat since I resell my furniture too.
I’ve heard great things about that one! In this one I used the Behr alkyd but I have used Behr cabinet paint too. They are great because you don’t have to top coat but if you don’t have a perfect coat then there’s no hiding it, you have to go over it again, which is annoying and wastes product that you were trying to save by buying the more expensive formula. I actually think I prefer to do a poly coat over using the all in ones because of that reason. I find that poly kind of evens and blurs the coat, kind of like what a toner can do for stained wood. and it’s kind of a peace of mind thing for me. I’m kind of like you, it just feels better knowing there’s a layer of full protection vs a layer of half paint half protection. I feel using an all in one is like washing your hair with a 2 in 1 instead of using two separate products But to answer you question, I didn’t find the fingerprints to show up, but I also haven’t tried a black in the formula. Also I think it does also take a month to fully cure. I keep my finished projects for two days before sending it back to the client and then tell them to treat it gently for a month. ❤️
@@hollysgarage I’ve seen Transcend Furniture Gallery use toners quite often but I don’t understand what they do. When do you use a toner and for what purpose?
@@tableflippinghousewife a toner is basically a clear sealer with a bit of pigment added, so it'll slightly tint and even out any blotchiness to an extent. usually it's made of lacquer but it can also be shellac or even water based. :)
I just used that paint but I brushed it on. (When I did the test where you put the paint in the cup & see how long it takes to empty, it was too thick for my sprayer). How did you decide how much water to add?

How many cans of primer did you need for that dresser?
Hi Jayne, I used maybe a 3/4 of a can. Thanks for watching :)
I expected 2 cans. That’s nice to know. I’ll have to try spraying.
@@jaynefrederickson5058 yes you have to try it! So much less messy and way more durable :)
