I had a game. it was a present last year. last week, I took it to a local cafe and added it to their stash. people go, have coffee, lunch, whatever, and can play games while they eat. since then, I've actually played that game twice. made a couple new friends, supported the local eatery, and had fun. win for everyone.
The footage of the stacks of games completely hiding you from view seems like a fitting visual metaphor for the way we let that fantasy self, and the resulting clutter, get in the way of our present selves. Thank you for sharing Cupid with us. ❤
When you put it that way - our fantasy selves getting in the way of our present selves, it makes so much sense! It really helps with deciding to let go.
@@OldGreyMare60 Initially, I typed "true" selves, and I'm glad I sat and thought about it before rewriting it. Our wants and wishes aren't fake, after all! They represent a very real part of us that isn't negative, exactly, just another facet to reflect on. Mira's videos give me a lot to (over)think about!
You are doing a great job. Don't be too critical of yourself, girl. You are moving out of your comfort zone and allowed to take your time. ❤ Rest in peace, Cupid ❤😢
Our rescue dogs save US. Somehow they know they've been saved and they never forget or stop loving us for it. They take a piece of our hearts when they go. ❤
So glad you were able to share Cupids specialness with us. I was watching before he passed, and new he was adorable but learning all his quirks and perks was really so sweet. ❤
You’re doing such a great job of continuing to declutter! But, your tribute to Cupid was the outstanding part of this video. It was so wonderful seeing the photos and film clips of Cupid through the years and to hear about his charming quirkiness. I laughed and laughed as I watched Cupid and Clay chase each other around the room. So darn cute! He was very special, and he’ll always be with you. Big hugs! Thank you for sharing these lovely memories.
Oh sweet Cupid. What a beautiful tribute this is. ❤ I think the dogs that are a bit more “challenging” (eg shy or reactive, mischievous) have a special way of burrowing into our hearts. 💕 Frankie was like that - he was our Great Dane mix who was reactive to most people, but he loved other dogs. He had a lot of anxieties and was my “Velcro dog”. He passed away from cancer at 4 yrs old and it broke our hearts. Sending you lots of love Mira. ❤
Hi Mira, what a beautiful tribute to Cupid. So funny to see him playing with Colt. So happy to see you continuing your declutter journey. I'm so proud of you. 💕
Cupid certainly is a beauty ❤. Thank you for sharing your lovely tribute to him. I love seeing pets playing together. Two of my cats like to play chase /hide and seek games. It gives me so much joy watching them 😻. You did a fantastic job with your games donation pile. Thank you for doing a video when this is a difficult time for you. Love to you and your pups 🐩🐩
What a beautiful tribute to Cupid. The saying 'It is better to have loved and lost then to have never loved" seems so fitting here. What a gift it is to have all the wonderful memories, even if they sometimes pain you. ❤
It is hard to let go, whether it's our fantasy, someday self, or our beloved pet. Thank you for being so brave, and sharing your journey with all of us.
Really pulls at one’s heart when we lose our furry babies. I’m still crying about my first kitty Gomer and that was almost sixty years ago. Cupid really was a special boy. Loved that he played fetch.
Pets leave paw prints on our hearts. I had two rescued kitties for over 18 years. It's an unconditional love that never goes away. Sending you love and prayers on this bittersweet milestone ❤️🐾
What a beautiful tribute to Cupid❤🐾 Thank you for sharing 🫶 You are doing amazing work. 👏 I appreciate every video & am learning how to think through the process. Wonderful way to give back by donating the games.
Such a beautiful tribute to little Cupid! Good job with the games. My fantasy self sews all her clothes, so I´m trying to keep her from buying more fabric and instead shop the stash at home.
Great job letting go of the games, Mira. I’m in a similar position right now as I prepare to put my house on the market and find one closer to my daughter. There are things here that haven’t been touched or used since we moved here seven years ago. I obviously don’t need them. Another thing we have in common is the loss of a beloved pet. Our Laurel crossed the rainbow bridge two weeks ago today. We had 14-1/2 years together and all she knew was love. I’m still numb from the experience and find myself checking the corner where her water bowl was to see if she has clean water. Hopefully, when we find our new home, we’ll be ready to love another pup who needs it. Feel all the feels, Mira. You’ve proven you will survive them, and you have two wonderful boys to help you through. ❤❤❤
Sweet Mira…thank you for sharing memories of Cupid with us. He certainly was a cutie. I believe that when a loved one passes, they take a big piece of our heart with them. I also believe that they leave a big piece of their heart to fill in that hole. Part of you will always be with him and part of him will always be with you. Take comfort in knowing that you gave Cupid the life he deserved. Big warm hugs coming your way ❤️❤️❤️
I commiserate with you in this episode. I spent decades with the same “game evenings” in my mind. However…after I cleaned them out I discovered some new games to play with others at a library and recreation center. Getting out of the house was actually fun as was tucking it up with new friends. I now absolutely LOVE playing Mah Jong! Who knew. I also learned Samba, Euchre, Bunco, Sequence and Five Crowns. I mostly play MJ and Five Crowns now. There is therapy in playing games. Put it out there in the universe that you are ready to find a game to play with others. It could happen in some unexpected way.😊
Cupid was a very special boy and your tribute to him was so moving. Well done on decluttering games. I think I have the same fantasy self. We'll see when we move and have space for people to play 😂
Awwww, Cupid was a sweet boy. That's so sad that he was in the shelter for a while. We found a pregnant kitten, and when we went to our local animal shelter of course we wanted to adopt all the fur babies! Hopefully we can adopt next year.
Thank you for sharing. Best wishes to a ti,e and place where you do have friends over to play at your kitchen table. Consider giving the unwrapped new games to Toys for Tots or your neighborhood equivalent. Only give things when you are ready. So proud of you for getting to the laundry room!!!
As human beings most of us have the god given ability to love. And that love sometimes provides us with little miracles. When that love is given back to us by an animal it makes it super special. Its a feeling that can't be replicated. I have had mostly cats in my life but only a few knew me like a book. And those were the ones that tug at my heart still after years have gone by. God bless you for sharing this memory with us. And Thank You for working so hard on yourself and sharing that. Your a special lady!!😎😊
So many cute video's of Cupid and photo's. It's so hard saying goodbye. I know our pets will be waiting for us. I also love to play games so much. I wish my husband liked to play more.
How lucky you both were, you and Cubit, to find each other and have all the love and happiness together. I am also sure that they meet us at your new beginning with tails wagging.
We are illogical creatures and we know there's no logic in keeping stuff that's never been unpacked or used. Good to see the size of the pile on your first round, so hopefully over time the 'keep' pile will get smaller. Lovely tribute to Cupid. He was wonderful! I'm pleased you can now think of him and smile and laugh, they never really leave us. He's there in those happy memories you have of him x
Well done on donating so many games. You will a lot of people happy. And you’re also reclaiming your space by letting go of your fantasy self 👏👏👏 Aw Cupid was a cutie and so funny. Thanks for sharing the videos. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏👍💪🙏💐🐶🐶🐶
😢 I grew up on Sorry and Chinese checkers. I wanted to reach through the screen and take them for myself. 😂😂 Mira, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and I pray hard that your health is good through this holiday season. We ALL LOVE you Mira and so does Jesus!!! I jump for joy when I see your video pop up!!! ❤️🥰PS... I'm SURE OF THIS that CUPID has his own GOLDEN doggy house in heaven along with his friends that went before him. WE WILL ALL BE TOGETHER one day real soon and that will be forever!!! Jesus is taking great care of all the animals.
Beautiful tribute to Cupid! Great work decluttering games! My fantasy self thinks she will give fabulous dinner parties, and needs a whole closet full dishes and serving ware. In almost twenty years in my current home, I haven’t given one dinner party. Time to declutter that closet! Would it make sense to invite over others who knew and loved Cupid to have a meal, remember him, and play Poodle-opoly? Or do a puzzle as you talked? As your home gets tidier, inviting guests might not be too much work. It could be pot luck, or take out, or just a veggie tray and snacks, so you aren’t going crazy cooking.
Great job decluttering. Love seeing the beautiful tribute to your sweet little guy. It's comforting to know that the sweet fur babies will greet us along with family because they are like family too because they are loved. ❤
Hi great job with the games. Keep in mind that other families will get so much enjoyment playing them...Cupid will always be with you.. Stay Safe Watching from Tasmania ❤️🙏🤗
What a lot of space that freed up good win Mira! Such a Lovely tribute to Cupid. I had a donation place pick up items yesterday. I call myself a turtle I am slow but always making progress & that feels good.
A gal used to come over every Wednesday afternoon to play games 😊 It was fun except she listened to '50's music every time - the same songs over and over. I get to go visit a gal on Saturday - we'll play a game 😊 I really miss regular game playing
I applaud you for recognising a fantasy self. It is not easy. And what a lovely tribute to Cupid. The fetching: Poodles were originally bred for fetching! In water specifically - the poodle fur keeping them warm.
Aww. Thank you for sharing Cupid with us! The video of Clay and Cupid playing was exactly what was going on in my house with a foster kitten chasing around one of my 15 pound resident cats. Cheezit is a good big brother and is teaching her how to cat. Losing them never gets easier. It’s been two years since I lost my Stripes and I still miss him, and his friends miss him.
I feel your grief about sweet Cupid. I am so very sorry. Losing a pet that is our best friend is devastating. Thank you for sharing your beautiful boy with us❤

I’m sorry that you had a rough anniversary but we love you sharing him with us.

Hi great job with the games. Keep in mind that other families will get so much enjoyment playing them...Cupid will always be with you.. Stay Safe Watching from Tasmania ❤️🙏🤗
Cupid was adorable ❤
Poodlopoly is so cute!
I’d use that in my lounge room on a shelf as a quirky decorator item 😊
What a sweet beautiful tribute to Cupid **gentle hugs**
❤❤❤😇 Puppy dogs are so amazing, they are angels in disguise...
Sweet Cupid❤
Mira well done. Think of the enjoyment others will get from them 😊😊
I'm proud of you. I know it's hard, but you are doing your best. Sending you good thoughts and prayers.
I’m bawling… I miss my Petunia Marigold equally as much. The heart ache is real.
Hugs for you. ❤❤❤

Well done !! 💐❤
You are doing so good
that is amazing! you must of made so much room
Nice work❤ I’m often curious to know what you did with the items you have decided to let go?
Games. Yes, I have quite a few too. Some were my mother's. (She passed away in 1970.) Some I played with my parents, or with my dad, when I was much younger. I used a couple of those with my students when I was teaching.
In all honesty, I've never considered decluttering any of them. I've never thought about it.
It would be very emotional for me to rid myself of any of them, so I can imagine what you are going through as you donate yours. The (physical) volume you are donating, however, will give you quite a bit of freed up space in your closet. That's a good thing!

❤ Loved seeing the footage & pics of Cupid. Some of those games bring back a lot of memories. Thanks for sharing!
Cupid was adorable. I feel your pain. I lost my rescue beagle earlier this year and I miss him every day. Sending you love.
I totally identify with the “fantasy self” concept. It’s really hard to admit it but my fantasy self is WAY more interesting and motivated than my real self!😆😆 I don’t make cut-out cookies but have a bunch of cookie cutters, platters and servers for entertaining but don’t entertain anymore, guest rooms and no guests… the list goes on and on.
Good video!!
Just in time for Christmas! I miss our Beagle Rocky - I still hear his claws in the morning, when I make my tea.
We have a new pup, a wonderful lab, but Rocky was a legend
I so know what you mean… My dog died over 20 years ago and I know she’s patiently waiting for me on the other side. I’ll see her again one day… ❤ I still miss her every day.
Hi Mira! :)
What a beautiful tribute to cupid ❤
I love playing Yahtzee … younger older with children then with grandchildren (from 6 years old on)
Sending you a hug from me and Ralph the blind pug, you are doing great I'm just sorting my jigsaw collection before I get more for Christmas 😂 xx
I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I know anniversaries of loss are hard. Losing a dog can be harder than losing a person because dogs love us without judgment.
I know you lost your mom about this time last year too. I also lost my mom during g the holiday season and 17 years later it's still hard. You're in my thoughts and prayers. You are doing great by the way. I'm so impressed by you
Beautiful tribute to your boy❤
This is very brave of you!! Kudos!! As for myself, having friends over to play table games is a nightmare!!
Good idea@
