I’ve been holding on to the spectral compressor for 3 months 😭🔥
seriously man your the only content creator that has found actual open source VSTs and not weird synths that cant tell me if its commercial use or royalty free
Thank you, I try to look for independent developers and not just any free plugin
QSynthi sounds so cool, will be grabbing it for sure.
@@mir-dr Have fun! It's very nice to explore it
Have fun with it! I would love to hear some Feedback about it! It may influence the version 2 that might be in development right now 👀
I've had Spectral Compressor for a long time, I had no idea you could use it as a vocoder 😮
@@TheQxY And it sounds great too
Very, very informative and helpful. Thank you.
Thank you :)
Nice gems you found there! Also thanks for showing our QSynthi (:
We did absolutely no promo for it so I'm wondering: How did you find our synth? 🤔
Found it on a Facebook group! Congrats on the great work :)
@@AlexReidStudios Crazy! Thanks (:
Nice review, thx, grabbed Spectral Compressor
@@alexdiakov_ambient Thank you! Glad you liked it and enjoy the plugin
Cardinal looks sweet, thanks 👍🏻
@@The_Albanian_Syndicate Enjoy it! Best modular synth in plugin format imo
This video has destroyed my weekend plans!!!
@@docjoesweeney Or made them better?
@@AlexReidStudios invader zim reference!
This is a useful service and your style and taste is useful too... I believe in what you are doing... you are saving us time and energy... plus making us smarter and keeping us in the loop! 20 years of production and i dont have the time to test and install each one to see if theyre that good!! also head into unique and wonderful samplers and samples because..... who has the TIME!!
Thank you for this comment! Glad I'm being helpful
Not only have you demonstrated excellent plugins - but you also take the time to very clearly explain each their functions/strengths, which is a large added gem! I have most of these that were shown. All plugins from Freakshow are... bizarre, to speak of - but ALL of them produce results that probably cannot easily be achieved with other plugins. My only problem with Cardinal (which I LOVE otherwise), is that with every new module added one cannot just upgrade the plugin - instead one must completely uninstall the earlier version before reinstalling the newer. One plugin that I knew of but didn't really think to be useful is Manta. But with your clear explanation and demonstration, has now convinced me to explore it properly. Thank you for that - and the excellent video. 🤘
Thank you so much for this comment :)! Glad you liked the video and my way of sharing stuff. I agree with Cardinal, nevertheless is an amazing alternative to VCV-
I did not know about Cardinal. Coooool. I love Voltage 2, but it is fantastic to see alternatives.
@@docjoesweeney Great thing is that Cardinal is 100% free. Voltage is great, but Cardinal has more than 1000 modules
I really like Dash channel but you win this round by far. This video is packed! 🎉
Yoo thanks! But it's not a competition haha
about half od these are excellent mainstays in my arsenal. really solid list, also that spectral compressor as a vocoder is brilliant
@@GillamtheGreatest It was Au5 idea honestly, it have some uses for color bass too. Which ones you use?
@@AlexReidStudios honestly i have all but the spectral compressor installed cause that one intimidates me a bit but i have a tab open to do it at some point. i think regency is my favorite/most used and i really like all the freakshow industry plugins as well
Cardinal seems very intresting but also difficult at the same time lol..
Any ideas of a tutorial of Cardial Alex??
Also grabbing Qsynthi!!!
Gotta play more with it, but I'd recommend Omri Cohen YT channel, it's about VCV but it's great to understand both
@@AlexReidStudios I'll check out the channel Alex...
Also I really appreciate the fact that you reply to every single comment in every single video bud.. That's soo awesome🙃✨
@@PandoraExplorer57 hey thank you, I will do that as long as I manage :)
almost got all of them^^
Which ones you don't have?
@@AlexReidStudios qsynthi, did see it on other channels tho I own so many syntths (but yeh hehe fx too^^)
Have you used mSpectralDynamics? Spectral compressor here seems very similar. I'd be interested to know if there are specific differences between them.
I looks very deep and useful! A bit pricey but I guess it's worth it
Mooom... my plugin is on TH-cam!! I'm famous :> yayy
@@Beatsbasteln Remember me when you're at the top
@@AlexReidStudiosyour channel is growing faster than mine
You're the most underrated music production youtuber. Your sub count is a travesty and just shows how broken the YT algorithm is. My only complaint is the way you pronounce "flanger". But as a monoliguistic simpleton myself, I have no grounds to critique you on your second (possibly more faik) language usage. 😄
@@TheCosmicTeapot Haha thank you a lot, and the channel is growing so I'm happy with that :). Yeah there are some words I haven't bothered to practice the original pronunctiation lol
Okay, Cardinal is ultra-cool! But many of the module names don't give any clue about what the modules actually do. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to find a list of module descriptions? Maybe even loosely organized by function?
@@scottk3292 As far as I know you could go directly to VCV webpage as many of the modules are the same.
Haha. One reason I like Voltage is most modules have boring names. I am still going to check out Cardinal. Because weirdness and modular go hand in hand.
@@docjoesweeney Yeah, and with many module names similar to Left-Handed-Cat-Decoupler you kinda never know what results you'll get.
*Unfortunately* the Spectral Compressor eats transients for breakfast - so only usable as a sound design tool.
I'm still experimenting with it but I use it subtly for resonance control
@@AlexReidStudios That was my plan as well, because the resonance taming works really nicely (the actual hands-on controls are quirky, but I got used to it pretty quickly) ... until that acoustic guitar track 😅
# drop your mask!
hmmm maybe at 100,000 subs
lmao the same day as dash, who will win????
@@TildeSounds I show 10, he only shows 5. Jk jk, his selection is different and are also great plugins!
@@AlexReidStudios Yes I am awaiting a comment of his on this matter. Maybe his are twice as good? The competition is not yet decided. Only one can leave this arena alive.
@@TildeSoundsThese plugins are very unknown. Not what everyone else is putting out. I knew only three of them.
Bro, please tell me you didn't take lots of time to wade through all those thousands of free plugins to find the useful ones.
I'd bet that in the same amount of time, you could learn Rust or C++ and write really good plugins yourself! (so why the hell do I waste time with video games?)
@@scottk3292 Loool hahha. No but really, went up to the last page in KVR in alphabetical order
