I feel so bad for iron galaxy and the devs they showed so much passion and listen to the player based and actually played with the top players to see what is broken and what needs a buff in game a shame it didn’t make it a year have 10 day’s of playtime
Honestly, the failure of the game is 100% down to Epic Games' unwillingness to promote the game. The game was on the front page of the Epic Games Store for the week of the release and then a few days a little while later when they put the starter pack in their list of limited time free items. Other than that, the game was kept pretty quiet. The worst part about that as well is that the game had a pretty rocky launch, with tons of matchmaking and server issues that may have deterred many of the players that downloaded it in the first few weeks. Frankly though, I'm kind of surprised that Epic Games was willing to take a loss of Rumbleverse so quickly. Surely the game was making some money and I would have thought Epic Games would simply slow down development of the game to try and recoup at least some of their investment. As for Rumbleverse returning at some point in the future, it's a hard road but a certainly possible road. Iron Galaxy is a relatively small studio, so even a game of Rumbleverse's size could still be very profitable for them considering it's the studio's most popular game (excluding ports). That said, money is probably the biggest hurdle since they are a small studio. Fortunately for them, the most expensive part of development is done now that they have a minimum viable product. However, self-publishing or releasing the game with another publisher would require a decent amount of resources to make the necessary changes to the network code. That might not be something Iron Galaxy is able or willing to do. You also have to remember that Iron Galaxy likely made no revenue from the game, assuming their deal is similar to deals given to other developers by Epic Games (50/50 split only after Epic recovers their initial investment). The biggest reason Iron Galaxy decided to partner with Epic Games was because they didn't believe they had the resources to publish the game themselves. Maybe it's a different story now that they know the true size of their audience. But if the game comes back (which I sincerely hope it does), I wouldn't expect the same experience when it comes to development. It's likely that the development cycle would be slower to save costs and there would likely be stronger priority given to cosmetics. All that said, Rumbleverse is certainly the most fun I've had playing a game in recent years, so I really hope that the game can make an eventual comeback on some level.
this game amazed me in a way, I didnt had this feelling in a long time, I told my friends that this game made me feel the same way fortnite did in 2017, cuz it is so unique, fresh, new and fun, every match was different then the previous one. I played a lot first season even reaching champ rank, it makes me sad to see it coming to an "end".
Like it was said in the video, an arena-style game would be a good next step in both having a smaller budget on a smaller scale but still leaving room for big ambitions. Look at games like Splatoon, Ninjala, or Devine Knockout in reference to what they can accomplish and more
i feel the battle royale definetly is a big part of the game, and some ideas just couldn't flow that well into an arena style game, but good god would that be enough. because the combat is just fun lol. and then maybe if that gets ok enough they could add in the battle royale mode??
I know the mechanics in this game are so well done for a 3d arena fighter, they should make use of what they have and do like 3v3s 2v2s, and a variety of different fun gamemodes maybe like infection or hide and seek or king of the hilll
Is sometimes hard for me to find a new game to enjoy and play with my friends since nowadays there is not as much multiplayer game and this was new I really end up liking the game but sadly it has to end before its big potential:(
I'll be honest, I played this at the beginning but like you said the learning curve and frustration is what got me to leave it. That said, I just got the itch to retry it again, and I was greeted with finding TH-cam vids like this.. Kind of sad though this game wasn't given more of a chance considering other more shit games that are still in circulation. Another thing is epic games has failed with games since unreal tournament original. They half ass produce games, and they super half ass advertise well for them. When I hear of a Epic game now days, all I do is think of failed attempts. This game was different, and just because I didn't continue to play it wasn't because it sucked, I just had a lot going on at the time to pick up the time to learn it. This game was different from the spammed attempts that copy each other. So, bottom line is this, I failed as a player to help support this game that was different and pretty cool structured, Epic fails at everything so that's a given. Me wanting to come back to this game after my failed attempt shows it had something the others didn't. Sorry RB on my part, Epic can eat a big turd, I'm pretty much done with them anyways, that was galax problem in the first place and that's trying to make a title under CraPiC that just cares about their redo unreal which sux also lol.
Epic just didn't care for Rumbleverse as they got Fortnite. They basically let the game die. 0 collabs, 0 ads. Epic invested so much in Fortnite (collabs) that they "can't" use a second game which is similiar Kinda sad cause Rumbleverse was better than Fortnite after chapter 2
Man I loved this game. Some of the items were annoying but it was genuinely fun. I had eventually started just going into creative, and 1v1ing my brother like a regular fighting game lol
according to a recent interview they are beginning to re-evaluate this game. Basically seeing if they would have to tweak it or keep it the same. there's also talk of them beginning to pitch it to other companies again so there is hope it just might not be out for a bit
They need to make a game like this but more realistic than have 4 man squads and the being able to hit your teammate was stupid just prioritize attacks
I gave the game try after try after try, much more than I ever give to a game I don't initially enjoy, and I still couldn't enjoy it much despite WANTING to. So, this doesn't surprise me. The game had a lot of issues, some of which were the fault of the game's core mechanical design and would've been impossible to fix. I talked in-depth about it on my channel.
The community made it hard to get into with the horrible duos mode people standing over Your teammates so you cant revive them people randomly stacking up and teaming on you i get its the nature of the game but the community made it really hard for a new player to join it
I didn’t know about rumble verse until I was scrolling through my free game section and I saw and tried it and now I’m a big fan of it ❤and this happened is just heartbreaking 💔 cause I really love rumbleverse
Wasn't a fan of fighting games. But the first trailer of this game got my attention to follow whatever this was supposed to be, and seeing gameplay, it was a must-have. Oh man, but playing this myself was the most fun I've ever had in a video game since xbox 360 days. This news is not sad, it's a tragedy. I'm happy I saved all my clips of this game. I just found out about this trying to play again after a while and I'm devastated. This game was so cool but, I agree, it didn't feel like it got the push it deserved. I really hope they get picked up by another Publisher.
The only problem people fail to realize is yes it changed for the better but that was later on alot of players had already left due to the imbalanced state of the game and had no intentions of coming back .

Something like this would be dope with like a streets of rage artstyle or something. The gameplay looks cool and I was thinking about playing it when I saw an ad for it a few months back but I never downloaded it because it looked like a Fortnite ripoff.

Honestly the second big update killed the game I loved the original update when they added more weapons thats nice but why did they nerf hp and nerf damage it made no sense to me everything after that just felt stale new maps were cool new moves are dope but considering everything the game was great but the second update ruined it for me It just felt alien to me
epic games sucks as a company. i never did like rumbleverse personally, but i used to play a game produced by epic games called Paragon and the same thing happened. Paragon wasnt making as much money as their other game was, so they forced it to shut down, completely disregarding the playerbase. it really sucked to lose a game that i loved so much for such a stupid reason, but thankfully i can say i have it back again, with the early release of Predecessor. I feel for the rumbleverse fanbase...
Ive stopped playing fortnite for like 2-3 years , i found out it was a game like this in october , now they deleted ... this been the only game i been playing since
So it died Bc it was dead, I’m ps4 and if you turn off crossplay you won’t ever get a que lol. Have to run on crossplay to get a lobby and even then most of the lobby is either pc or Xbox 😞
Ima be honest, it was the matchmaking why people didn't play. Every match you had to go against super sweats. Made it super un-fun. Tried to play with friends and we get rolled by a PC player who clearly is leagues above us, like why are we fighting against those type of people just starting out. Trash, they shot themselves in the foot
As someone who plays fighting games I really did NOT like this game. Even just playing it casually felt really sweaty and difficult and people could just get a knockdown on you and bully you on wakeup all day long. It made every encounter feel like fighting Zangief. I can see why that wouldn't be appealing to casuals. Fortnite has plenty of casual appeal and considerably less sweat factor than this game. That's probably why it failed.
You literally mention zangief. I know little about street fighter, but I know that zangief is a grappler. It's funny because rumbleverse is literally about predicting your opponent so your reading game probably needs a lot of work if that's what you're complaining about. it was probably a joke, but the guy who said "skill issue" is probably more right than you think

I think another reason for closing Rumbleverse is Fall Guys. everyone played Fall Guys in the summer and no one cared about Rumbleverse. FG looks easier to learn. There was no Russian language in RV yet, and as a Russian-speaking person I can say that this is a big minus. Also, when I downloaded the game, I immediately deleted it after the first match. Is someone really interested in playing for a fat black woman to jump with his elbow on someone ? It's very strange...
