Awesome. Visited the Dolomites as a child skiing, remember it being beautiful but from the air it's amazing. Have wanted to get into flying for many years but never had the funds. Well done
Dolomites are beautiful, Alps are magnificent, Rocky Mountains are grate, Appalachians are magic, Carpathian mountains are spectacular- but I love Connemara and west Ireland mountains!
Ken, you just need to make sure your line length is shorter so that the camera can't reach the motor area when flying. I have one that I designed positioned higher up (shorter line) with the camera angled downward. With this setup, I capture more of the ground beneath me as well as what is in front of me.
@sylvek78 Yeah that's a bit of an issue with flying a chase cam in non laminar air. It moves around quite dynamically and feels weird looking at the mountains jumping around in the background. I've got a couple of possible solutions available. Just need to test them out.
The "jumping of the mountains" is from TH-cam's image stabilization. I have found that paragliding videos are better if you leave that off. Awesome video!
Great video, great place and great day to fly. Now I know who I was flying with - found myself on minute five. Thank you! I made a short video with some clips of you.
@SkyadventuresVideos I mostly fly in Connemara and mountains in the west Ireland. Winter is not the best to fly here- very windy. If you like to come for paragliding here the best time is spring and summer.
@StfnHnns Thanks Stefan! Yes it was a great day. I think it might have been my first or second day in the Dolomites. Looks like you had an epic flight that day. I certainly enjoyed every second of it.
@flopeflyozone Thank you Mario for sharing your local knowledge. I feel lucky meeting great people like you while going around flying. I've put your name down in the end credits. ;) Cheers, Airie
@skyjack1ifly so you are an Irish guy. Always wanted to come to Ireland and fly that lush green landscape there. Where exactly do you fly from? Is it flyable in winter?
Nope. Not enough thermal activity over water and hence not enough air going up to keep a paraglider airborne. We need air moving up to be able to stay in the air as we have no motor and are unable to flap like birds.
It's attached to the third brake attachment point from the middle of the glider to one side. It needs to be on the side which is lower when reverse launching. If you are turning left it needs to be on the right hand side of the glider.

could you travel across the sea like that?
Nope. Not enough thermal activity over water and hence not enough air going up to keep a paraglider airborne. We need air moving up to be able to stay in the air as we have no motor and are unable to flap like birds.
with s at the end
Indeed, one can see even the subtitles waving around at 00:40 ... i really hate this kind of video "stabilization" as it makes videos look quite sick.
could you tell me what lines you attach to for this video please
It's attached to the third brake attachment point from the middle of the glider to one side. It needs to be on the side which is lower when reverse launching. If you are turning left it needs to be on the right hand side of the glider.
Nice video ! one TIP; please don;t use the stabilizer function...does NOT look nice ! love from The Netherlands !
Порясающий ракурс!
