Pinning this comment pre-emptively so I can give my thoughts on new frames as they release. Thanks again for watching! Koumei: Koumei's passive makes one of her 3 weapons inflict random status effects for a minute, and every minute the buff cycles to a different weapon. This basically gives her weapons a built-in Encumber periodically, making them incredibly good as self primers or primers for other weapons. I'd say it's S Tier. Nova: Nova's passive is now that enemies have a 15% chance to drop a health orb if slowed, or a 15% chance to drop an energy orb if sped up. This passive is WAY better than you'd expect at a glance, allowing Nova to have basically infinite energy really easily. I'm kind of on the fence about putting in S, as while it is super good it does rely pretty heavily on enemy density, so I'm going to say A, though it's so good it may very well be an S. I also think that Khora can go up to A after Companions 2.0. Umbra can also probably go up to C, as a lot of the friction with the passive has been smoothed over, though it still has its flaws.
Missed Nekros and Hildryn tech. I condemn you to ball busting. Nekros can revive himself if he heals from an enemy dying after he reaches 0 health and before the server realizes that he's dead. Very likely to happen with Nekros, though it is accessible by any Warframe as long as you heal in that period of time. Also due to the way Hyldrin increases Helminth cost by x10, Voracious Metastasis is incredible on her, providing up to 60 energy per second to the entire team. Not exactly her passive, but only possible due to her passive. Neither of these change any grades, they're just worth mentioning due to only happening due to the passives working the way they do.
Loki's passive is good for rivens early game. I'll probably end up using it for said rivens as I rank him before feeding him to the perpetually hungering flesh wall.
Posting this here as well so others might have a better chance of seeing it. There is one error in this video during the Sevagoth Segment; The Shadow is not limited to only Block and Consume, very importantly, the Shadow still has access to both Heavy Attack and Heavy Slam (I have checked it myself in my Sim as I remembered doing it in The Circuit). This may be unintentional, as these attacks do not count towards your 5 required kills if they do finish off an enemy.
A funny gimmick with Umbra is that if you helminth dispensary on him, and you move into your necramech, he'll occasionally cast it around you, granting your necramech energy and stuff x'D It's not fantastic, but it's a silly interaction
since mag is a starter frame, i think her passive is the best out of the 3 starter frames, because it takes a bit until you get your first companion, and then you also need to have fetch/vacuum to equip it, and as mag, you have a lot of QoL right from the start that the other two dont.
I see where you're coming from, but I personally disagree that it's any higher than F because it isn't that long before you get your first companion. Taxon is borderline handed to you and Howl of the Kubrow is like the 3rd quest you unlock, so it becomes obsolete pretty quick.
Yeah, but that kind of just highlights how they should introduce universal vacuum instead of making early resource gathering even slower. Mag is definitely a really good frame, but I honestly think the only time you'll notice her passive, after the MR0 experience is over and done, is in Duviri.
The 3 starting passives could easily be significantly improved. Excalibur: up both stats to 25%, allow it to be used on all kinds of swords and make it multiplicative to other stats. Mag: adds with Vacuum/Fetch Volt: change the number from 1000 to 100 and make it a % increase on the next shot/few seconds of shooting.
it's worth adding that Nova's passive literally doesn't even work. For example check 24:56 - the Heavy Gunner knocks Nova down, and we can tell the passive triggers AND that the Heavy Gunner is in range because she takes the blast damage, yet she doesn't get knocked down herself because the "ground slam" animation overrides knockdown. And it's like that for virtually every enemy ability that can knock you down, and doubly ineffective now that overguard is a thing.
Just finished, and loved it! Lots of good info and neat details without feeling talked down to or only acknowledging the highest tiers of gameplay like I've heard from others. Awesome vid, and hope you're having a good one and relieved to have this finished.
And about my ideas: I wad fine with yours but I really support your mesa buff. make it 15% fire rate for regulators but normal secondaries get 30% fire rate 50% reload speed(I love my secondaries)
Thats an absolutly horrible way to judge a frames abilitys. Chromas ability to double jump doesnt tell you anything about his insane armoe and weapon damage buffs. And his total lack of any mobility abilitys.
Idk if it's just me, but coolkid is one of those TH-camrs that even if I'm not playing warframe at the time, I still love to watch lol. Keep on, funky dude
Titania's "hidden" part of her passive was the part of her original passive that was explicitly written on her description. Plus, she would generate a lingering area dubbed a "trampoline" that would grant the same bulletjump speed and distance to allies who would perform a bulletjump while walking through the trampoline and this part was so poorly worded it was basically the "hidden" second part of her passive. Bookends or something idk.
the revenant passive is even worse than you think because IIRC Revenant has the second highest base shield capacity in the game, and his 4th ability even generates overshield pickups his entire kit is about reducing damage and buffing shields. the only time you are going to reasonably see his passive is in his quest when you fight revenant.
This is from before Duplex Bond and Dreamers' Wrath existed as well as when shields used to be made of wet paper, so Revenant used to be *way* easier to deplete shields back in the day, especially since Mesmer Skin was less spammable EDIT: oh, and Shield Gating didn't exist back then, so back then the damage from depleted shields also hit health
@@Necroxion but in regards to his kit, you have 1: turns foes into allies, drawing aggro 2: protects shields outright 3: makes him immune to damage 4: provides overshield pickups everything protects and forties the shields so why a passive that only happens when you lose shields is beyond me.
@@privatepessleneck again, this was before you had easier energy replenishment, his kit was useless if you didn't have a good way to replenish said energy And just to show how old this passive is - Helminth was barely even the "remove cyst" chair back in the day - you couldn't even Helminth Nourish like you could nowadays, Arcane Energize was this ultra-elite forbidden fruit that could only be afforded by people whose toilet paper was gold leaves, Energy Nexus didn't exist, and Dethcube's augments couldn't even drop energy orbs back then You had to go with Zenurik for energy, but Focus farming was an absolute nightmare back in the day - you could only get Eidolon Lenses from Eidolon Hunting, which itself demanded a lot of Focus investment into Madurai to actually farm properly, we didn't even have Void Angels or Thrax units to farm focus from, and the focus orbs did not give the flat initial focus values back then - you only got the focus from kills, which was half the affinity percentage of the focus given nowadays
@@privatepessleneck again, that entire kit is useless if you don't have the energy to use it. We didn't have Energy Nexus, Helminth wasn't even there to add Nourish, and Zenurik was the only consistent energy replenishment back in the day - when focus farming was only doable with Eidolons and required a heavy focus investment in Madurai to do consistently, while the focus gained from missions was only half the current amount from earned affinity and without the flat bonuses from touching orbs Shield gating also didn't exist back then. If a foe dealt 2,000 damage to you, that 2,000 damage oneshot straight through your shields before being reduced by armor. It was so bad that the common advice at the time was "forget shields, just increase health and armor", and only when Hildryn came did the shield gating rework actually happen
@@privatepessleneck I almost forgot: Arcane Energize also used to be this ultra-elite thing that only people who use gold leaves as toilet paper could afford, and it could only be farmed from Eidolon hunting And I say this as someone who initially chose Naramon!
For Wisp, don’t forget if you’re in the air when you switch to your operator Wisp will stay invisible as long as you don’t switch back. So the passive gets even better if you’re running an operator build.
its interesting seeing passives change from being thematic but disconnected like "this frame is heavy so it should make a shockwave" to being a core part to the kit of the new frames and reworks
incredibly well-made video, your production quality is always so good. i love that the background footage for the frames was done in a mission that matches their theme, lore, or acquisition method! its such a nice touch
I love Kullervo's passive a lot. Something a lot of people don't consider as well is even if you're not doing Heavy Attack builds, that passive alone makes him a great platform for Incarnon Melees, since those require him to have 6x combo then use a Heavy to activate. He's probably the most versatile melee character for that reason, he can make any Incarnon easier to use, and his 1 makes all melees get free red crits.
As someone who absolutely loves melee gameplay and big red number, i cant agree more, stack ability strength for bigger redder number and stack some duration (not really needed tbh i just use it code i like longer duration on bigger redder number) and have fun
@@skandasankarraman6696 Perfect to combine with some Violet Shards for Crit Damage or Red Shards for lower Crit Damage or Strength honestly, he's easily one of my favorite characters in the game. Hard to kill, does big numbers and doesn't die to Nullfier Bubbles. 11/10 Melee Frame, with strong theming and flavor with every ability, even that passive.
You kinda missed something about Harrow Passive, since you can stack your overshields higher, it means you need less casts of Penance to stack it to 120 seconds, which IMO is fairly significant.
Putting Controled Slide on Nezha is like spending your allowance a pair of Heelies, but your mom takes the wheels away Coolkid is your mom. He's coming for your wheels.
Actually there's one more use for Loki's wall latch. Getting that ONE SPECIFIC RIVEN CHALLENGE DONE that has you kill enemies while wall latching and not touching the ground
Silence doesn't make enemies take longer to hear weapons fire. It deafens and deadens them to it within the radius of Silence. It does not, however, prevent them from reacting to sounds heard by enemies outside the bubble who alert to you. Silence has a default radius of 20m, and most loud weapons are audible to much greater distances. Silence works in conjuction with her passive to effectively zero out your aggro in large combats, making you an enemy priority only for enemies you are directly attacking and close to, and making your (generally much more durable) allies much higher priorities. Now, YMMV on how often you find yourself in situations where that matters, but as the one usually playing the Banshee *I* am perfectly happy to have the Eximus units and other various overshield equipped foes more interested in targets that aren't me. Your passive works along the same lines for Sentinel, greatly reducing, or completely eliminating any aggro it might generate and improving its uptime substantially. S'ok though, most of this doesn't really come with any instruction manual. The only place in her kit it doesn't have synergy with is her 4, but that power exists to completely invert her gameplay from her the combo of her 1+2+3 anyway, and is... charitably speaking, pretty dated.
Silence is honestly kind of a really weird ability in general, while also being (imo), VERY strong in a way a lot of players completely sleep on. Being able to just completely turn off things like Eximus abilities and Thrax unit's invincible attacks is really, really good even ignoring the other stuff the ability does.
Agreed! The one thing I’ve been hoping they would change with Banshee’s passive is its only main Negative drawback, which is that it prevents Banshee from having Iframes when using operator. Which is small, but can still get a player killed unfairly in some scenarios, and adds to her “squishiness” as well. Especially VS other passives and Active abilities as well that do not even block Iframes for Frame when using operator.
i wish rhino got a cooler passive, but your idea for a better passive is exactly something i'd love to see.. as a rhino main i def agree with the F tier passive.
31:13 I actually asked some people why they dont play Zephyr even when they say she is very strong. Most of them told me they dont like the Movement change of her. After I mentioned the mod that deactivates it many didnt even know it existed and some other said they dont want to use up a slot just to have normal movement. I absolutely love the movement and the possibilities it offers with the Tailwind dash.
I feel like its also the fact of HOW you get that strength. There's a good selection of nuke frames that dont need weapons to make them stronger, while Zephyr's nuking is entirely dependent on your kit. So while she is strong, she can be either intimidating or disappointing if you dont fully understand weapon modding; or use weapons that are not AS effective or play well with her kit. Edit: Even considering her nosedive aug, its a very narrow playstyle and ignores 75% of her kit; so while it is super strong, most people will want to explore other options besides literally slamming their head into the ground.
@@FiendLuckless actually divebomb nuking can use her entire kit hilariously , hovering with 1 waiting using 2 to suck , 3 to protect and 4 to further amplify its already ridiculous damage haha
@@RossKyle95 Yes, but you dont HAVE to. I can just jump or aim glide, mod for tons of range, and she has high shields so you can just use brief respite/shield gate. Plus its still a narrow playstyle because 90% of the time youre slamming youre face into the floor and nothing else as that is your main DPS, and a bulk of what youre doing WITH that playstyle is spamming 1. So my point still stands; its effective, but can be limiting and boring to play after a while.
@@FiendLuckless the point was not using rest of your kit which I was just saying it’s there , it can synergise and it’s only as narrow as one makes it , although it is valid it can become boring , I run max range on my default build anyways so I can go between styles at will and stay airborne maintaining buff and still gun DPSing , I get what you mean though
@@RossKyle95 Fair. I was just fixated less on ability synergy and more on making them effective for damage. Tornadoes are so strong you dont even need to mod zephyr if your weapon is built well. Another theory of why Zephyr has low player count is because you read her descriptions and think "oooo i can fly" and all you get is the weak ass hover.
Fun fact about nekros passive. It has a bug that lets you self revive if you kill something within range right as you take fatal damage you go down then pop right back up on to your feet like you got revived.
Actually Vauban's passive works with any form of CC not just yours. Condemn, Fire proc, Cold procs(currently bugged but will be fixed later), a basic ragdoll, ANY CC, even your teammates CC. Also... you're safe.
The video was good, pretty solidly reasonable, honestly. You earned the bonus points for "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater with War Crimes" though. Good god I'm crying.
Banshee’s passive also lets you cheese the MR19 test. You can kill all the enemies with a gunblade from across the map, since you only get to use a melee weapon during it
A tier for that alone. Fuck that test, they kept seeing me through the floor somehow when I did it so after 4 days I said fuck it I’ll use banshee and redeemer LMAO
Although, ANY frame can do this just using a Glaives throw attack 😂 And hit the enemies through walls lmao. Also, unfortunately, Banshee passive prevents her from ever getting s when using operator, like Umbra, so frame can still be killed when using operator. (Not relevant in that MR test, just a downside of the passive lol)
I never thought I'd finally fully understand what diminishing returns and double dipping with bane mods and roar means because of a damn passive tier list video The part with Vauban if anyone is curious
For Ivara, I would give her a movement speed buff based on how long she was invisible, with a cap. Basically reduce her drawback of her 3. I know that strength can make it buff sprint speed with the augment, but you still lose access to a lot of movement options.
I've played alot of valkyr and nova over the years and I 100% agree on their placement at the bottom of the list. Valkyr being a berserker melee focused frame has no use for knockdown recovery or hard landing immunity, I get why its her passive bc of her theming being cat-like but it doesn't do anything for her gameplay. If I was to suggest a change I'd make it so that attacks against valk increase her melee damage and/or speed. This would just have to be attacks that try to hit her, not dealing damage, so the passive would still work when she's immune in hysteria and would actually be better as she's not taking the damage but still getting the bonus. As for Nova, you mentioned that if the passive was activated by casting abilities it could be better but I would instead say that it could be done by rolling. If you know that one decree from duviri that drops a cold bomb when you roll, it could be like that but nova drops an Antimatter Drop that rather than knocking down enemies pulls them to the drop. This brings the passive more in theme and could open up some better funky builds rather than the arcane eruption build. EDIT: Okay just forget everything I said about nova cus the new passive she got is much better Also chalky chair :)
Nyx rework in 1999 gives her extra crit chance per enemy afflicted by madness within a radius and enemies affected by radiation around her are afflicted with madness
Suggestion for Revenant passive rework… X percentage (up to 90 at most) of ability damage per enemy afflicted by Thrall ignores defenses (Overguard and Eximus include) Ps edit; this is to make it so maybe enthralling a bunch of enemies lets him maybe NUKE with his 4?
"chalky chair" I'm a bit newer to your channel and content, but I'm loving it and learning so much. Between this video and the math of Damage Reduction, I'm really getting a lot of useful knowledge that has just been unknown to me and I can now start changing up my playstyle a bit. Super cool stuff, honestly, looking forward to more of your videos!
Your explainations of these mechanics is superb. I'm not experienced enough to suggest any reworks, but I do hope we get some love to the F-tiers. Chalky chair, keep up the good work, and thank you for your time and effort in makin this lovely listening session.
Amazing and engaging script throughout. You have a knack for choosing the right verbiage to maintain interest while conveying information that moves the goal of the video forward. Very impressive.
As a Mesa main, I really wish she’d get that buff you recommended. The no melee thing is incredibly redundant particularly because I run the red crit Mesa build with ceramic dagger. Thanks for the great vid! Also Chalky Chair (gonna have to go find out what that means as this is 2 times now and I’m still in the dark…)
I use loki every time a riven challenge requires wall latching or climbing, which is not rare challenge at all while still being extremely annoying and pretty difficult otherwise for me.
This goes hella in-depth ngl and I do appreciate that you address when stuff is dependent, complementary, etc. to the abilities. Kinda interesting seeing how some kind of balance out (e.g. Sevagoth's passive being trash but his active abilities are strong) chalky chair
Umbra's passive can be immediately buffed by giving him a good primary weapon. I use a corrinth prime and he easily shreads through enemies while spamming his radial howl, and with a properly built operator you can still do work on your own.
Excalibur's, Volt's and Mag's is starter warframes, and their passives work pretty good for new players tbh. upd: Also Ivara's passive (as warframe-hunter by the way!) is pretty good when you hunting in a open world, when you can see animals to catch much further on the radar (and use AoE sleep arrows to catch them without much aiming).
Yea for new players, we all reach a point where we're not new players anymore & I assume this is meant to rank overall, not just solely from a new players pov
I know this may be silly, but Oberon's passive of 25% Mini-Health/Shield boost on pets could allow pets to trigger Reinforced Bond (WF Firerate + 60% whenever Pet Shields are greater than 1200) more regularly. A nice albeit small synergy.
1:20:00 Also the cooldown concept added with the workings of the railjack makes Lavos the universal KING of railjack piloting as he can almost spam every railjack ability on top of spamming all warframe railjacked ability, including his own 4th ability which railjack version has only a 2s cooldown
@@noahedenborg4221 Don’t know if they reworked Hildryn railjack, but the exponential increment in shield costs for railjack abilities makes so that… no, at some point she just caps too high and the costs takes too much time to lower As for the rest, harrow i can see why yeah, garuda you may need to explain, as for dispensary it’s not that good for that as you must wait for the rotation to give you orbs. Works best with equilibrium ofc, but still eh, plus it forces you to dedock-redock It’s also just that cooldowned abilities work better to me in the railjack environment as you can choose to just never leave the pilot seat (plus lavos ult wherever you want with 2s cd is pure bliss)
Melee mentioned! Cool list, unlucky timing with Nova's passive getting reworked but a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Definitely agree with a ton of your list.
I thought trinity's was 50% faster without the range boon for a while but nope, it's just kinda negligable. Also for khora to allow for use of different venari modes while still subsumung over her 3, it'd be nice if venari's default is decided by emissive as is the case for equinox, chroma, since that'd still allow mode swapping with the ability intact just provides some quality
Hmmm, the downside to this, is that kind of passive change would make her 3rd ability even less useful than it already is. Although, allowing the starting mode for Venari with emissive color or something, only when not subsuming off her 3rd, would be a good change.
If they were going to keep the no-melee bit on Mesa, maybe just make it directional evasion percentage (basically giving her the melee autoblock angle via evasion while firing guns) The other kind of issue on Atlas is something he shares with Valkyr (non passived). Frames with armor buffs that spend 99% of the time invulnerable (in Atlas case you arguably get more mileage off just giving him a shield gate via BR or Augur mods which will constantly refresh between landslides) The other problem with Sevagoths revive is Consume has some of the worst targeting/hit detection and elevation problems in the game. Calibans passive actually does continue while Adaptation does. They don't stack, but Calibans decays slower so it can maintain a sort of minimum bar in between enemy encounters or hits of certain damage. IIRC if they're both maxed out, Caliban still has 20% when the main Adaptation falls off.
Two quick notes, Loki's passive is (while very niche) invaluable for opening certain rivens. Realistically pretty much the only reason I ever play Loki is for his passive. Secondly, an interesting quirk of Citrine, is that unlike certain other warframes who's abilities don't stack (think Wisp motes), playing with multiple Citrines can allow you to stack the benefits of several of her abilities. This includes her passive allowing for 4 citrines to generate a passive 100 hp/sec while also stacking several 90% DR buffs.
I expected to just listen to this in the background, but it's honestly visually engaging enough that I watched the whole chalky chair directly. Very well done. So, I know that Lavos' helminth limits are probably necessary to prevent _stupid_ overpowered interactions (and might also come down to coding incompatibilities), but...god, I wish we could imbue elements on helminth abilities. Toxic Sunder Cold Star _Viral Eyes_ My 'pen-pineapple-apple-pen'-ass brain _needs this._ I want to _actually experiment._
Ok this might be biased considering sevagoth is one of my mains however i will argue that he has easily the best "on death passive" considering the shadow can one shot steel path enemys and you only need to kill 5 enemys you can basically never full die if you are in anything that isn't a open world mission and there is 5 enemys which in most gamemodes their is but hey thats just my opinion.
Loki's passive might be useful for Riven requirements. I know I had a few that required getting a few kills (or was it headshots?) while wall latching without touching the ground. But I'd agree that is still undeniably pretty niche.
1:09:20 small note: aegis storm was changed very recently and now allows you to cast other abilities while granting access to Balefire. So, have fun with that. I like voracious metastasis personally, for the ultimate energy generator support
I never knew you could cast smoke screen while using Stalker's 4th.. That certainly makes him a bit stronger than I initially thought Also Chalky Chair!
Chroma does have an ephemera for the wings but it's only from the chinese new year deluxe bundle i believe. Would definitely be cool to just have some as a normal option though
35:07 another perk for Limbo's energy regen passive is that it makes energy tanking an absolute breeze and negates any effect that Eximi may have had. At that point the only thing that could kill you is a rogue Bombard rocket
1:00:00 fetch on venari does have one specific niche use - venari spawns in index, and fetch grabs the points from the ground, which are sometimes hard to see with bloom off. Not a massive deal obviously, but a genuine use case.
I wish lavos's elemental imbuement stayed after you cast an ability, I get tired of having to press an ability button 1-2 extra times before every cast.
Idea for ivara's passive: Make weapons stronger if they are silent (aka bows by default) to promote using bows or hush mods in order to maintain prowl invisibility
1:44:00 TBH I would say that the Judgements are a central mechanic of Jade's kit in that they impact 3/4 of her abilities. Her 1 spreads the Judgements, her 2 aura duration is extended for each kill/assist of an enemy affected by Judgements and her 4 can detonate them. So generally her abilities revolve around setting up her aura, spreading Judgements and then killing enemies affected by Judgements to keep the aura going. Without the Judgements those abilities would all be pretty different in functionality. Not to mention that if they ever want to give her an Augment which spreads Judgements by other means (i.e. an Augment to her 3 to apply Judgement to enemies on sight), this means they could do so without wibbling about it being tied to her 1 or 4.
Man, you were spitting facts right up until you hit Umbra. Yes, he needs a few tweaks such as the ability to keep channelled abilities and the ability to command his behavior in Operator, but he absolutely does not belong in F tier. C, maybe.
To be perfectly honest, I actually agree. My argument for putting Umbra in F tier was much stronger when I started working on the video, but they made several changes to his passive that made it far less annoying. The issue is that my change of heart was so late in development it would've taken a lot of work to tweak it, so I ultimately decided not to, but I think that C tier is realistically more fair.
I haven't played Warframe since last November and I'm finally starting to miss it a bit. The frames that have come out since then look cool and it's really interesting to see how the ones I used to know have changed. Bummer to find out Energize is still on top and I still don't have enough plat for it, so maybe Dagath is who I should farm up first. Chalky chair
Respectfully the point of Energize isn't to just get through the content, it's to have more fun casting your abilities and being impactful, kind of the whole reason I log on to the game in the first place. If I got a busted Energize that made me fail every other mission I would still use it for that reason.
Energize is a waste of a slot as weell as inconsistent. Zenurik is infinitly better. Youure better off using that slot for. molt augmented or molt efficiency.
I almost 100% agreed with everything you said in the video and then you got to umbra and I wanted to fight you physically. 10/10 video tbh (That was a joke and your opinion is valid, but seriously though, thats the only passive in the game i could attribute to not only being the entire reason i play a frame singlehandedly, but also the entire reason i dedicated myself to making my operator viable. That single passive has contributed more to the game to me than half of the frame roster, without exaggeration. It might not be in an ideal state or as effective or efficient as it should be. But F?!)
I do appreciate this video as a new player since seeing what is out there, especially with so much warframes to play around with can be exhausting to research. This was a fun, well researched video! and uhh chalky chair…?
I have a gripe with your Sevagoth segment. There is one other important thing Shadow can do in addition to his Consume and Blocking, being that he can still Heavy Attack, including Heavy Slam. I get the gripe with Ressurection passives, but I personally like them (just wish they worked in Arbi, kinda like how I wish you could call archguns into missions you can't use gear wheels, as it limits build variety in these missions, and completely turns off intended combos, such as Qorvex and his Mandonel). Thematic abilities that do something and can facilitate a specific playstyle.
About Styanax yes you use his 4 alot on trash when you have the energy (but nourish - shut it - there are so many other fun abilities you can put there thanks to Helmy) bosses who cannot get alot of status and have alot of health youll be sitting infront of for 10 minuts pressing 4 but by the time you reach any boss you have max overguard and therefore max shields thanks to augur mods a scourge-prime with a mid to good riven will then deal more damage against the boss then his 4 due to the boss nerfing the ability to so much
not really commentary on the video, but the mention of Lavos' new passive augment got me while i was cooking up something with a funny Twin Rogga riven (literally just multishot and cold), taking it to 64 multishot per shot. on a secondary. with maxed out status chance, it becomes Winter's Howl from cod zombies, instantly freezing a statistically significant amount of enemies in one shot. In trying more and more ways to increase it's effectiveness, i ended up remembering that there's an arcane that causes status procs to deal additional damages instances. If you'll remember, the Valence Fusion or whatever augment causes every hit to have a forced proc. i don't know much about the numbers but it sounds incredibly goofy to just say "oh, i want some more instances of... let's say Gas damage" and then have dual wield Zyklon-B generators, or for radiation i just have two elephant's feet in the vague shape of a firearm. it's hilarious and i want to try it with, like, Roar or something
Here are some of my improvement ideas: Loki change: keep the existing passive but make it so when latched to a wall abilities duration time pauses until you let go off the wall this way you can extend invisibility and decoy and any helminth by 1 minute Oberon changes: 5% ability strength for each ally buffed by his abilities (stacking but with a cap) Hydroid changes: vulnerability to corrosive AND electric status (being wet yaknow) Chroma changes: we already have doubble jump so what good tripple jump really offers? make it doubble doubble jump by doing 4 and i say its doing something Atlas changes: rouble only gives the armor (find another method to heal) Titania changes: the healing effect should be stackable Octavia changes: should be stackable (maybe 10 seconds instead of 30) Revenant changes: when damaged teleoprt to another body of water (joke)
what if revenant passive was that when an ally dies his next ability cast becomes empowered. (thralls would count as allies) could be something simple like extra strength, or could be something that ties his entire kit into the thralls: after an empowered ability cast the passive will go on cooldown. 1.enthrall becomes usable on a current thrall to turn it into an eximus 2.messmer skin gives 10% of the stacks to allies around him (including thralls), 3. reave will do the increased damage even to non thralls, 4. danse macabre will explode any energy pillars it hits to do all the damage over time instantly and each explosion will reduce the passive cooldown.
For Loki, I still think Loki (the trickster) should have his passive allow his kit to work through Overguard as well as what you suggested. Though if that was the case, probably the lower value for extra damage in that case.
I've played a couple hundred hours of wisp, and I agree with the passive being in s tier even with the other defensive options. Wisp's 1 is great and easy to keep up but doesn't fair as well against burst damage and has no counter to status, while her 2's invincibility isn't very user friendly due to teleporting away from the starting point and needing to be effectively cast twice to get the i-frames while only lasting a couple of seconds (and if I remember right it isn't effected by duration). The passive is just easy to use and gives a lot of breathing room whenever you want. Nullifiers surrounding you? That's fine, its a passive. Need to reload? Tap space and you're good. Just bullet jumping around? No enemies will aggro. Want to abuse thrown melees/exodia contagion? There's a hidden 2x damage multiplier for stealth attacks. Genuinely just so good I keep trying to use it on other characters out of muscle memory.
umbra bug got partially fixed btw you can use their own augments for now and going into operator doesn't reset buffs like furious javelin augment, but helminth infused ones are still bugged sadly, almost they are kinda fixing it overtime...
I like how ya went outta've your way to play on gamemodes / nodes that related to the Warframe! Also, I just flat-out forgot that older Warframes have passives, so this was actually helpful to watch. Oh yea': "Chalky Chair," or somethin'... No idea what the reference is.
Bro how do you manage to include spoilers in a PASSIVES TIER LIST
@@trevor93939jhxgeyeuejnrnfjdise Umbra and other story heavy frames are in the list

Just wanna point out that volt's passive has a big benefit for fishing since it applies to his spears and lets you use any spear even to get rare fish
Thats a niche option. Just adds but wouldnt increase the rank
I think it deserves the rank that it os in just because of this.
Otherwise it would be F tier.
Love the process of shuffling your feet around between every catch
Meta fishing strats
What if it scales with power strength
A funny gimmick with Umbra is that if you helminth dispensary on him, and you move into your necramech, he'll occasionally cast it around you, granting your necramech energy and stuff x'D It's not fantastic, but it's a silly interaction
This is actually really cool and useful
Tbh this is the one reason why I like his passive, he doesn't just sit there doing nothing in free roam bounties while you're in your Necramech.
His name is not Atlas, he's Prime sure footed the warframe 40:52
Spending less time on your butt is a huge DPS increase
#1 OPP is the Air
Huge increase in DPS
"Nah man, PSF is a crutch, what you REALLY need is this %15 increase to ability strength, this will SURELY be more beneficial"
He was my first frame. Didnt realise knockdown existed for half the star chart
9:32 Yup, Riven challenges. Anytime they involve wall running/wall latching, I’ll use Loki with Patagium and Stealth Drift.
I have a loadout slot specifically for cracking riven and Loki is there more than any other frame because of the wall latch challenge
Yup and lua spy's as well can be quite nice to run Loki for the wall latch shooty challenge there
@ For Lua Spy, I actually like to use Ivara with the Prowl augment, as I always struggle to do the vault with the massive hallway full of lasers.
@@SmoothTurtle840 I just use Limbo for Lua. There aren't any enemies to trigger the alarm.
Superbly crafted ASMR
Exactly what I was thinking lmao, just a vibe. Also love your videos too.
since mag is a starter frame, i think her passive is the best out of the 3 starter frames, because it takes a bit until you get your first companion, and then you also need to have fetch/vacuum to equip it, and as mag, you have a lot of QoL right from the start that the other two dont.
@@MrVeps1isn't vacuum already universal? Or you wanna go back to "carrier mod only"
The 3 starting passives could easily be significantly improved.
Excalibur: up both stats to 25%, allow it to be used on all kinds of swords and make it multiplicative to other stats.
Mag: adds with Vacuum/Fetch
Volt: change the number from 1000 to 100 and make it a % increase on the next shot/few seconds of shooting.
Raise mag passive range to 10m and make it scale with ability strength
it's worth adding that Nova's passive literally doesn't even work.
Those enemies were always disliked for that reason.
Just finished, and loved it! Lots of good info and neat details without feeling talked down to or only acknowledging the highest tiers of gameplay like I've heard from others. Awesome vid, and hope you're having a good one and relieved to have this finished.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Okay this is peak idea. A lot of the time I'm looking at passives to see where frames start to see if i'll like the frame because its always active.
chalky chair too
And about my ideas: I wad fine with yours but I really support your mesa buff. make it 15% fire rate for regulators but normal secondaries get 30% fire rate 50% reload speed(I love my secondaries)
Is this removed
the revenant passive is even worse than you think because IIRC Revenant has the second highest base shield capacity in the game, and his 4th ability even generates overshield pickups his entire kit is about reducing damage and buffing shields. the only time you are going to reasonably see his passive is in his quest when you fight revenant.
This is from before Duplex Bond and Dreamers' Wrath existed as well as when shields used to be made of wet paper, so Revenant used to be *way* easier to deplete shields back in the day, especially since Mesmer Skin was less spammable
EDIT: oh, and Shield Gating didn't exist back then, so back then the damage from depleted shields also hit health
@@Necroxion but in regards to his kit, you have
1: turns foes into allies, drawing aggro
2: protects shields outright
3: makes him immune to damage
4: provides overshield pickups
everything protects and forties the shields so why a passive that only happens when you lose shields is beyond me.
@@privatepessleneck again, this was before you had easier energy replenishment, his kit was useless if you didn't have a good way to replenish said energy
And just to show how old this passive is - Helminth was barely even the "remove cyst" chair back in the day - you couldn't even Helminth Nourish like you could nowadays, Arcane Energize was this ultra-elite forbidden fruit that could only be afforded by people whose toilet paper was gold leaves, Energy Nexus didn't exist, and Dethcube's augments couldn't even drop energy orbs back then
You had to go with Zenurik for energy, but Focus farming was an absolute nightmare back in the day - you could only get Eidolon Lenses from Eidolon Hunting, which itself demanded a lot of Focus investment into Madurai to actually farm properly, we didn't even have Void Angels or Thrax units to farm focus from, and the focus orbs did not give the flat initial focus values back then - you only got the focus from kills, which was half the affinity percentage of the focus given nowadays
@@privatepessleneck again, that entire kit is useless if you don't have the energy to use it. We didn't have Energy Nexus, Helminth wasn't even there to add Nourish, and Zenurik was the only consistent energy replenishment back in the day - when focus farming was only doable with Eidolons and required a heavy focus investment in Madurai to do consistently, while the focus gained from missions was only half the current amount from earned affinity and without the flat bonuses from touching orbs
Shield gating also didn't exist back then. If a foe dealt 2,000 damage to you, that 2,000 damage oneshot straight through your shields before being reduced by armor. It was so bad that the common advice at the time was "forget shields, just increase health and armor", and only when Hildryn came did the shield gating rework actually happen
@@privatepessleneck I almost forgot: Arcane Energize also used to be this ultra-elite thing that only people who use gold leaves as toilet paper could afford, and it could only be farmed from Eidolon hunting
And I say this as someone who initially chose Naramon!
Putting Controled Slide on Nezha is like spending your allowance a pair of Heelies, but your mom takes the wheels away
Coolkid is your mom. He's coming for your wheels.
I mean it's basically just a slightly cheaper power drift since Nezha has knockdown immunity built into his kit
i hate his passive, he just slides a bit further than his destination. minor annoyance but stacks up multiplicatively overtime

I am devastated you didn't keep the Judgement joke up

I remember grinding for him when I first started and being so mad every time he did the slam
they could make it so he knocks down enemies when he sprints into them, like in the trailer

Although, ANY frame can do this just using a Glaives throw attack 😂
And hit the enemies through walls lmao.
Also, unfortunately, Banshee passive prevents her from ever getting s when using operator, like Umbra, so frame can still be killed when using operator.
(Not relevant in that MR test, just a downside of the passive lol)
@@abyssphantom6786 Glaive throwing has a pretty close range though, whereas gunblades you can just stand back in your spawn and snipe them all
I never thought I'd finally fully understand what diminishing returns and double dipping with bane mods and roar means because of a damn passive tier list video
The part with Vauban if anyone is curious
EDIT: Okay just forget everything I said about nova cus the new passive she got is much better
Also chalky chair :)
Almost two hours of CoolKid? God I am not ready. In all seriousness videos like this are what tickles my brain worms. Thank you CK369
Nyx rework in 1999 gives her extra crit chance per enemy afflicted by madness within a radius and enemies affected by radiation around her are afflicted with madness
Suggestion for Revenant passive rework… X percentage (up to 90 at most) of ability damage per enemy afflicted by Thrall ignores defenses (Overguard and Eximus include)
Ps edit; this is to make it so maybe enthralling a bunch of enemies lets him maybe NUKE with his 4?
it would be solid A or even S tier
It’s also funny that his idea for a rework of her passive is just one of Cyte 09s abilities

This goes hella in-depth ngl and I do appreciate that you address when stuff is dependent, complementary, etc. to the abilities. Kinda interesting seeing how some kind of balance out (e.g. Sevagoth's passive being trash but his active abilities are strong)

Loved the video, this was a great Idea man
Umbra's passive can be immediately buffed by giving him a good primary weapon.
Loki's passive is useful for certain riven unveils, and that's about it
1:20:00 Also the cooldown concept added with the workings of the railjack makes Lavos the universal KING of railjack piloting as he can almost spam every railjack ability on top of spamming all warframe railjacked ability, including his own 4th ability which railjack version has only a 2s cooldown
nah he aint the king of railjack pilot
harrow hildryn garuda anyone with dispensery are way more spamable then lavos
@@noahedenborg4221 Don’t know if they reworked Hildryn railjack, but the exponential increment in shield costs for railjack abilities makes so that… no, at some point she just caps too high and the costs takes too much time to lower
As for the rest, harrow i can see why yeah, garuda you may need to explain, as for dispensary it’s not that good for that as you must wait for the rotation to give you orbs. Works best with equilibrium ofc, but still eh, plus it forces you to dedock-redock
It’s also just that cooldowned abilities work better to me in the railjack environment as you can choose to just never leave the pilot seat (plus lavos ult wherever you want with 2s cd is pure bliss)
this is the nerdy stuff i subbed for!!
Melee mentioned!
Cool list, unlucky timing with Nova's passive getting reworked but a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Definitely agree with a ton of your list.
Take a shot everytime he suggests a stacking damage buff as a change
Good content, keep up the great work!
Loki's passive isnt that bad for inveiling rivens that require you to get them while wall latched.... though most nuker frames can also do that in ESO
If they were going to keep the no-melee bit on Mesa, maybe just make it directional evasion percentage (basically giving her the melee autoblock angle via evasion while firing guns)
The other kind of issue on Atlas is something he shares with Valkyr (non passived). Frames with armor buffs that spend 99% of the time invulnerable (in Atlas case you arguably get more mileage off just giving him a shield gate via BR or Augur mods which will constantly refresh between landslides)
The other problem with Sevagoths revive is Consume has some of the worst targeting/hit detection and elevation problems in the game.
If you look at this tear list without context it looks so goofy.

"Nidus is nowhere near as tanky as inaros"
Quote from person not using the built in 90% damage reduction
Loki's passive might be useful for Riven requirements. I know I had a few that required getting a few kills (or was it headshots?) while wall latching without touching the ground. But I'd agree that is still undeniably pretty niche.
crazy big brain content
1:09:20 small note: aegis storm was changed very recently and now allows you to cast other abilities while granting access to Balefire. So, have fun with that.
I like voracious metastasis personally, for the ultimate energy generator support
You gotta show off all your warframe fashion! Every time I see any frame in your video, they look sick as hell and I'm honestly jealous
I never knew you could cast smoke screen while using Stalker's 4th.. That certainly makes him a bit stronger than I initially thought

35:07 another perk for Limbo's energy regen passive is that it makes energy tanking an absolute breeze and negates any effect that Eximi may have had. At that point the only thing that could kill you is a rogue Bombard rocket
Titania Proposition, make it % Of Max Hp (respective to players), that would make it good for supporting teammates at least,
Chalky chair thanks for the info dump, I feel well informed after being a player for years lmao
Thank you. This is now my second favorite video after the kuva campaign where nothing happened on the 23d of February and I don’t even like tierlists
My passive is predetermining the words: Wimmy

I like that for each warframe's gameplay you were doing something related to how you earn it.
Chalky chair
it’s not a big deal if you don’t have energize. i genuinely use no arcanes and am still able to participate in all and game activities.
Respectfully the point of Energize isn't to just get through the content, it's to have more fun casting your abilities and being impactful, kind of the whole reason I log on to the game in the first place. If I got a busted Energize that made me fail every other mission I would still use it for that reason.
Just get Zenurik or play alongside someone who gives a lot of energy.
Hell, Energy Nexus is basically a 5x better Energy Siphon
Energize is a waste of a slot as weell as inconsistent. Zenurik is infinitly better. Youure better off using that slot for. molt augmented or molt efficiency.
I almost 100% agreed with everything you said in the video and then you got to umbra and I wanted to fight you physically. 10/10 video tbh
(That was a joke and your opinion is valid, but seriously though, thats the only passive in the game i could attribute to not only being the entire reason i play a frame singlehandedly, but also the entire reason i dedicated myself to making my operator viable. That single passive has contributed more to the game to me than half of the frame roster, without exaggeration. It might not be in an ideal state or as effective or efficient as it should be. But F?!)
so I get to listen to cool kid nerd ramble for like 2 hours straight? oh yeah we sleepen good with this one
What a video. Thanks a lot for the effort. Chalky Chair.
I do appreciate this video as a new player since seeing what is out there, especially with so much warframes to play around with can be exhausting to research. This was a fun, well researched video! and uhh chalky chair…?
I like Loki's passive, it helped me with a riven challenge which was to get 8 kills while undetected while wall latching.
About Styanax
yes you use his 4 alot
on trash
when you have the energy (but nourish - shut it - there are so many other fun abilities you can put there thanks to Helmy)
bosses who cannot get alot of status and have alot of health youll be sitting infront of for 10 minuts pressing 4
but
by the time you reach any boss you have max overguard and therefore max shields thanks to augur mods
a scourge-prime with a mid to good riven will then deal more damage against the boss then his 4 due to the boss nerfing the ability to so much
Banger
not really commentary on the video, but the mention of Lavos' new passive augment got me while i was cooking up something with a funny Twin Rogga riven (literally just multishot and cold), taking it to 64 multishot per shot. on a secondary. with maxed out status chance, it becomes Winter's Howl from cod zombies, instantly freezing a statistically significant amount of enemies in one shot.
Here are some of my improvement ideas:
Loki change: keep the existing passive but make it so when latched to a wall abilities duration time pauses until you let go off the wall
this way you can extend invisibility and decoy and any helminth by 1 minute
Oberon changes: 5% ability strength for each ally buffed by his abilities (stacking but with a cap)
Hydroid changes: vulnerability to corrosive AND electric status (being wet yaknow)
Chroma changes: we already have doubble jump so what good tripple jump really offers? make it doubble doubble jump by doing 4 and i say its doing something
Atlas changes: rouble only gives the armor (find another method to heal)
Titania changes: the healing effect should be stackable
Octavia changes: should be stackable (maybe 10 seconds instead of 30)
Revenant changes: when damaged teleoprt to another body of water (joke)
I love mass effect bgm in your vids ❤️
what if revenant passive was that when an ally dies his next ability cast becomes empowered. (thralls would count as allies)
could be something simple like extra strength, or could be something that ties his entire kit into the thralls:
after an empowered ability cast the passive will go on cooldown.
1.enthrall becomes usable on a current thrall to turn it into an eximus
2.messmer skin gives 10% of the stacks to allies around him (including thralls),
3. reave will do the increased damage even to non thralls,
4. danse macabre will explode any energy pillars it hits to do all the damage over time instantly and each explosion will reduce the passive cooldown.
