Thanks again Lawrence,I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't include McCormack in your favourites but I'll forgive you!!!I've been working on Caruso's last recording day and I hope to upload the first, Domine Deus, tonight.
Thanks for listening Esdras. I uploaded a Caruso video last year that you might enjoy. It was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death and has one song/aria from each year of his recorded career and about 300 coloured photos. If you wanted to watch the video the link to it is th-cam.com/video/SYglMiD13D4/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for listening and for your comment Jef. My restorations give a more natural true-to-life sound to these very old recordings so I'm surprised that you prefer the sound of your originals but, of course, I respect your opinion. I add applause to obscure noise and give a smooth transition between tracks and to give a "live" atmosphere with more presence. I'm sorry that it doesn't meet with your approval, some listeners like the applause, others don't. Thanks again for listening.

Mike, great recordings!! Its interesting that these were made late in Caruso's recording career.....maybe he was looking to expand his repertoire. I believe Tito Schipa was beginning to record a number of Spanish songs around this time. Nice performances!!
Thanks Mike,I'm glad you like them.I put A la luz de la Luna on a few weeks ago by itself with no problems. This time there is a copyright claim (which I have appealed against) by Naxos USA so I may have to re do it without that one if they don't withdraw the claim. It seems ridiculous to me that a large company should claim copyright on a recording made over 100 years ago. There that's got that off my chest!!!!
@michaelmcgrailengland unless they can prove you used the Naxos recording for your restoration I dont think they have a case. And even then it would be doubtful. Caruso's heirs and RCA chose not to renew the copyright, so all his recording are public domain ( at least thats my understanding)

Thanks for listening and for your comment Mohsen.
I love "a la luz"! I have to say the sound is better on my unrestored copies, and they have no added applause. Whatever he sang was turned to magic.

@@michaelmcgrailengland sounds good. It's only the applause that's foreign. I listen through the scratches and pops. Part of the Caruso sound
