Even better, learn it with them! My elementary music teacher was one of the meanest, scariest, critical don’t touch anything teachers in my school.. I think 2 others matched her and another was close.. yet even she couldn’t take away my happiness at learning this instrument even at its simplest. I was thrilled to be making music!
What do you think of it in comparison with a small lyre? We think that that would be easier to start with, and also more classical, but we understand that if you teach a specific tradition (post Renaissance western european music, as opposed to the eastern or ancient greek tradition) that a kind of flute like the recorder would make sense. Also, is there any specific reason you choose the recorder over the tin whistle, pan flute, fife, japanese wood horizontal flute etc, or is it just because of familiarity of the teachers? because some of them (esp. tin whistle) seem also not that expensive and sound also a bit nicer to us in our opinion
Great questions! I was able to hire a teacher who was familiar with teaching the recorder, but not the lyre or tin whistle, so that is the main reason why I chose it. Many instruments, of course, may be used for teaching musical aspects such as note reading, dynamics, phrasing, etc. Hopefully, students can learn many different instruments, including the great ones you mentioned!
Are you able to order from Amazon where you live? Are there other online shopping sites? I'm sure you can find one, but will probably just have to order from a different place.
@@GenaMayo even i tried to buy recorder course. Its also show 69 dollars. There is a 30% off on sale, which i can buy on 47 dollar. Friend i know this is very cheap in usa dollar, but the case of indian rupees it's a challanging. So kindly consider me to get the course with even more discount. Sorry for barganing like so. Thankyou for understing me
all the wrong stereotypes about the recorder , the recorder is not a subpar instrument as opposed to other instruments , it is not easy to play quite the opposite it is more difficult than a sax or a flute
I loved all the added reasons to dedicate ourself to playing the recorder!
Thanks! It was fun to learn to play it as an adult. :)

The recorder strap looks really good, who made it please? It would be interesting to see if they are available in the United Kingdom
