- Kevin De Bruyne’s moment of magic ensured Manchester City beat Chelsea to strengthen our position at the top of the Premier League.
The Belgian curled a stunning effort into the bottom right corner from 25-yards in the 70th minute to send City 13 points clear of the second-placed Blues with our 12 consecutive league victory.
It sealed a deserved win for Pep Guardiola’s men, who controlled a tight contest from the first minute and might have won by more but for a brilliant save from Kepa Arrizabalaga to deny Jack Grealish in the first half.
Romelu Lukaku forced a superb save from Ederson with the scores goalless, but the Belgian striker cut an isolated figure for much of the afternoon as Chelsea set up to contain and rarely troubled the hosts on the counter-attack.
Thomas Tuchel’s men stoic defended frustrated the defending champions for long periods, but their efforts were undone by De Bruyne’s brilliance as he rode N’Golo Kante’s tackled before arcing a sumptuous strike beyond Kepa to provide a significant boost to our Premier League title aspirations.

Sure KDB takes the spotlight but Bernardo Silva was the best player on the pitch for me. My man ran non stop like a machine all game. Felt like he's our version of Kante, but with exquisite dribbling and passing skills added into the mix. Can't believe we almost let him go last summer.

De Bruyne is one of the most underrated players on this planet. People compare him to Bruno, Ozil etc..... But he is right up there with Xavi, Iniesta and Zidane. At his prime in 2019/20 he was the 2nd best player in the world after Messi and that was the best season ever for a midfielder imo. He is one of the most complete football players I have ever seen. Most of the goals he scores are outside the box bangers. He can score goals, provide assists, create chances, deliver key passes, dribble and take set pieces also. We are lucky to have a player like Kevin de Bruyne who proved to be the only difference in today's crunch game
