I'm ordering one of these GM 1000's next week and I'm gonna get one of the scoops also; I noticed how it acts like a gold pan. That being said, I'll probably just dump the dirt in a cloth bag and pan it all out later.

You should do a comparison video of your gold monster vs the sdc 2300 on bedrock cracks. I’m truly curious to see how much gold I miss with my monster that is just a little deeper than the monster can detect. Always surprised we’ve never ran into each other out on the river haha. Heavy pans bud 😎
I plan to do some comparisons between the gm1000 and SDC. I think it would still be interesting to see how they compare even though they use different tech
@@MountaineerMatt absolutely. I’ve seen comparisons where they test the two machines, but I’m more curious on bedrock cracks. What does the gold monster miss that is much deeper in the crack 🤔.

Hi Matt! Do you recommend taping the Gold Monster's coil edge to prevent dirt / black sand getting within - and if you do, what kind of tape?
Yes I do it with mine. Electrical tape does the trick

Why don’t you use a Garrett gold pointer to help pinpoint your targets?
With the size of most of the targets it's just easier and quicker to scoop up the target and remove the dirt until you only have the target left in the scoop. However, I think a pinpointer would be useful for working in cemented placer or rock crevices. Thanks for watching 👍

I am using my monster 1000 too but all I find is ions. Alot of places where I am, has alot of ions and I'm having difficulties in finding gold nuggets. Should it be wrong with my settings? Somebody help me please

What's a hydrolic pit?
It's a type of gold mine where they used giant water hoses to wash away the hill side, then they would run all the material through sluices to to collect the gold.

Nice little collection of gold! Im selling all my gold nuggets from the past 5 years of casual gold mining and buying bitcoin while it's in a bear market. Gold is fun to find but I don't think it will appreciate in value as much as Bitcoin over the next decade. What do you other gold guys think?

As for me , i will always be buying more gold (mostly in the form of scrap jewlery) and melting it down into bars or maybe jewlery! I can't stand having to fork over 100 dollar premiums just to find gold to buy... so scrap gold it is.

Can I ask where you was (general N CA or AX or?), What setting is the GM1k in?
Northern CA. I like to keep it on the highest manual setting I can go without getting too much ground noise.
I'm in northern California by trinity and Shasta lake and everywhere we go we can't find any public areas it's all either private or blocked off any advice on where to go that we can detect for gold we are new to this but really thought we would be able to find even a small area to pan and detect any help would be greatly appreciated
