Thank you much for posting this for me. While I was there, I got the honey cake recipe and the blackberry cobbler recipe. This is the first year my blackberries are coming in. There might not be enough for the whole recipe, but I know where I can get more. I’m trying to grow as much as I can myself starting two years ago. Because of you, I put in a parterre garden.😁 It has been a major success. Last year I put up lots of tomato sauce, combining tomatoes instead of adding sugar like you would and most spaghetti recipes. it’s all natural.😁 Boy was it fantastic. Nothing better than your own homegrown food. If you haven’t tried rhubarb, it’s an old-school food and mind a rate for two years. But for some unknown reason, they didn’t come back this year and I have not been able to find any plants anywhere.
This year I added fruit trees. I have fig, apple, peach, pear, cherry and apricot. Although the apricot may not make it.
All this to say I have followed you all for years, long before you moved. It’s wonderful at the successes you’ve had. Of course you’ve put in a LOT of hard work on the farm and keeping up with your postings. I for one appreciate this. I still keep you in my prayers for your health and I’m glad to see you out and about so much more now. Don’t overdo!
PS I’m glad to hear that you’ll be having, more items in your store too. I think Just Dig it Farms is following in your footsteps and using the same great web designer you did.😁
Now I just have to find someway to save up for a freeze dryer. I guess I’ll have to pray for a miracle or find somebody who’s getting rid of one, although I highly doubt anyone would after experiencing it. Love the candy idea. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next to freeze .😁

Dear Brooke, as someone who spends a lot of days in the bed because of autoimmune disease ~ I am so very happy the new medication is working ❤❤✌️those babies need you ~ two leg and four 😉
My theory, just get up in morning, do what your body will allow. Take some thing for inflammation. To much medicine is down fall of meny older people.
I am battling multiple autoimmune diseases myself, so I can relate. The fatigue is so overwhelming & honestly, only someone who has autoimmune diseases can understand how debilitating it is. I do as much as I can, but I also spend lots of time in bed. Medicine or not, our bodies can only do so much & when needed, we have to rest. There's no pushing through unless we want to pay dearly for it. I'm thankful that there's channels like Cog Hill for the times when I must be in rest mode. Jason & Brooke are so fun & inspirational! I just wanted to say, hang in there, fellow autoimmune warrior! Take care & God bless!🫂💜
@@bettyhutcheson9318some days (and sometimes weeks at a time) people with autoimmune diseases can’t just get up in the morning and do. The fatigue is debilitating then add that to the muscle stiffness and pain……. puts a person in bed all day for a day or many days.

dear Brooke, next time you make some crème brûlée, try using whole vanilla beans. Slice them in half, with a knife scoop gently the little black seeds and put them in the cream before you start cooking it, and do the rest as you did (you can put the vanilla pod inside a sugar pot, you will get vanilla flavored sugar). The difference is gargantuan, real vanilla gives it a very very special flavor. Try it and tell me about it please!!!!!!!! All my love an respect for you wonderful woman.

RECOMMENDATION for your EGGS in/out of STOCK SIGN: Put a swivel clip on the sign that is screwed in the place of the hook. People can then just hold the sign up, flip it, and let it down without worrying if it gets put back on the hook or not. What a great idea for your farm stand, Brooke! I said suggestion how about putting a string on the sign so when they flip it they just have to flip it instead of taking it off of the hook and putting it turning it and putting it on that way I was just a thought. In my family the saying is, cook goes first, because that is the person who stood in front of a hot stove and prepared the food for everyone. That shows how much Brooke loves you, Jason, because she let you take over the cremé brulee and you proceeded to eat all of it but the one bite she had.

I like Brooke’s idea better, because it not only lets customers know when you are out of eggs, but you can see when the board is down too and can bring more eggs out when needed.

I make custard with the whole egg. Try putting a spoon of honey on top without the torch. Also I make lemon custard with the juice of two lemons added I put it takes longer to bake. I make it in a bath.

You are right to give thanks for the days that you are able to walk. To still go outside without help or risk of falling or getting stuck out too far to get back to the house. I'm too disabled now to all the things I once took for granted. Running, walking, swimming and canoeing in the river I grew up in. Hiking in the woods and foraging for wild edible and medicinal plants. Doing my photography with my little dog at my side. Driving and being able to work as a nurse. Caring for my loved ones at the end of their lives. I've been very blessed. I do miss my active and youthful body. But now I make the best of my time watching my farm families and doing bible studies. Praying for folks and keeping up with the friends I've made online since I have no friends to see in person now. Count your blessings!

It's wonderful hearing Brooke is feeling better! I never knew Creme Brulee was so easy to make! I need to purchase a torch and thermometer so I can tackle this project. I recall how much time Brooke dedicates to each cooking video so I am extra appreciative. The Farm Stand is obviously a smashing success. Brooke is a natural on-camera.

Brooke, it's obvious that you are much more comfortable recording yourself. Your video today was delightful! Not to say the others haven't been good. I have watched all the videos you have done and will continue to do so. I know it's a matter of practice because I have experienced the same thing with my guitar playing and singing. I was very intimidated playing and singing to an audience but have been blessed with the opportunity to sing for folks who are disabled and seniors at the daycare they go to. I sing for 4 different programs 8-10 times a month. I have become much more confident with all the practice and We all have a great time every time I get to entertain them. I love watching every single video you and Jason produce. Thank you for sharing your life. Bless you!
