Fry vocals, he does gutturals here. Easiest way I can explain it without a video or a massive comment is: inhale, preferably with your diaphragm. try doing a clicking noise with your throat [akin to the clicker's sound in Last of Us]. You'll be barely exhaling to do the click.Then start exhaling more, using your diaphragm. For the guttural, just roll your tongue towards your back, have the tongue's peak touch the upper part of your mouth.
Not reverb, that's bad for forward vocals cause it washes out. They definitely use a short vocal slapback delay and a compressor though. Lows are quieter than highs and it would sound less than ideal without that compression.

Now I’m certainly not an engineer and could be wrong but I feel like a good example of this is listening to Lorna Shore’s Of The Abyss - studio vs one take vocal video. The studio version (again, definitely not an engineer) sounds like they added a lot of reverb, on top of setting the vocals farther back in the mix. Whereas if you listen to the one take, his vocals sound SO much better, but not solely because they’re more forward. There’s probably more to it than that on the production end but I know I’ve heard instances of strong use of reverb on vocals that ruined the sound imo
