A nice relaxing day finding records, buying records and talking about records!

A trip out to rural Texas to visit my friend with the cats, buy records, and generally have a fun time! I bought some records and talked about them the next day.

Jimmy Swaggart recorded his second and third LPs at Sun (1st and 2nd?). There are a couple of good cuts on his second album that approach Jerry Lee's energy sorta. I have Jimmy's first 45 on maybe a one-shot label.

I believe you had the beginnings to a new song, "The Cat House Blues", on Fredonia, of course! Facebook marketplace is another shifty place to watch out for. I had a recent disappointment on Discogs. Seller claimed a NM copy of a record but made no claim that it was either a bootleg or reissue. Uggh! Be well!

Another great vid. I do have a question. I picked up a box of about 200 promo 45’s from a thrift. They are dirty and I’m cleaning the mouse droppings off a couple but that’s ok. I have looked up about 40 so far and Discog’s doesn’t have any listing of the record. I still have more research to do. Where Should I look for more info? Most are not old. The original owner must have been a DJ in the early 80’s late 70’s and most are country (not my strong suit) but they are just not listed. Like I said I’m just starting to look them up so I maybe premature in asking.

On rare occasions sellers on E-Bay do make mistakes by under pricing items. You will hear from record collectors brag about their big finds from E-Bay. About 13 years ago I got together with 2 other collectors and ended that each of us lost $150.00. Last time on E-Bay for me. One of the collectors lost alot of money in the early days of PayPal.
