- Welcome to the Wise Owl Paint Party. On today’s video we're sharing our steps for how to brush on and blend in our Wise Owl Hemp Oil Black Walnut Furniture Wax over our Seasonal Color, "Siren Song" using our Wise Owl 1.5 Inch Flat Premium Brush. This is used as an accenting wax to create some shading and aging in and around the edges and recessed areas.

Chalk Synthesis Paint, then Unscented Hemp Salve (main top coat) then accenting wax 👍
Can you use the wax for shading on enamel, then seal it with polyurethane?
Wax would always be last. So if you did wax over our One Hour Enamel, that would be all you needed to do. Just know that our enamel has that built in top coat, so the wax will take more time to dry as it’ll be sitting on the surface and not merging with the paint as it would in Chalk Synthesis paint. Hope that makes sense
Nice job! Do you add more wax, maybe clear, to seal the chalk paint in the middle of the drawer?
I used Unscented Hemp Salve as my top coat, before I did this step. So the paint is already sealed with that prior to add on this Black Walnut Wax 👍

Hi Mark, wat is the difference between a 1.5" Wise Owl premium brush for the waxing in comparison with a ClingOn! brush of approximately the same size?
Cling On brushes are the highest of quality and amazing brushes for painting. Best I’ve used. So I reserve my Cling Ons for painting only. They cost a bit more as they are the best you’ll find, so for that reason I take really good care of them so they last even longer then they already do. And for that I don’t use them to wax. I use Cling On to paint, and WO Premium to wax. Brush sizes vary depending on which Cling On you are comparing the WO 1.5 inch to. The Cling On F40 in a 1.5 inch, so that would be comparable in size to the WO Premium 👍
