    I've created a C70 rig and having the monitor on the extended battery really helps. The tilta cage has lots of capability built in, but a built-in ARCA swiss plate was one reason why I went with a different cage.

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      oh yeah, the one battery solution is the best thing about the Rig.. I don't mind the missing arca swiss as you can add it later

  • @damiencooper
    @damiencooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Disclaimer: the rig balances a lot better without the side strap on the RS2

    Great minimalist rig! Routing the camera and monitor to one battery makes a huge difference in the field! Great work!

    I am on the verge of buying a C70 and have the DJI RS3 Pro gimbal. I have never used a cage with a gimbal (mainly due to size). Do you ever use a setup like this with just the gimbal (and maybe a side arm for the monitor). Thank you for such a useful and educational video, its really helped me

    Hi Damien, awesome video. I picked up quite a few of your suggestions. Could you please tell us which dovetail plates you attached on the bottom of the Tilta cage?

  • @guidosc3470
    @guidosc3470 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Do we really need peak design to design a proper way to attach such a side strap?😅
    Nice video! But I don’t really see a reason for the cage .. if you would just use the attachments delivered by Canon 😅 would be lighter! And btw you have a major sound improvement in using something like a KM 184 .. I compared mine with the Shure pro and Deity and it is THAT much better. 😜 .. at least for an audiophile 🙃)

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well, the original top handle is horrible :D. The audiomount also sits too high so it interfers with the monitor and you don't get a proper tripod mount on the bottom either. Plus, I do sometimes attach extra stuff to the cage as you can see in the b-roll.

    • @guidosc3470
      @guidosc3470 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@damiencooper u can just turn the audio Mount upside down at the side! 🙃
      And I don’t get why everyone hates on the Canon top handle.. it’s robust, VERY light and feels good after a short time of use. U should really give that “minimal” setup a try.
      I use the Tilta Extended Quick Release Baseplate for DJI RS 2 directly onto the C70 .. so I use the RS2s Arca Swiss plate for tripods..
      Btw your battery is great ! Didn’t know those exist😅
