It's not just the usefulness of your tips and tutorials, it is the manner in which you present them with your first- class video/narration/sounds and today's video is yet another example. Brilliant!
Yeah I have been fine-tuning my videos for 2 years now, I hate to watch my older ones as I just cringe at the quality lol. I am still striving to improve though, and thanks for noticing :D

Hi at 1:43 you began transforming a star shape with what seems to be a keyboard shortcut. Can you please let me know how you did this as it would save me a lot of time.
These are awesome! Thank you so much. I do appreciate you sharing the Multiple Scripts link. I found a lot of things that can speed up my process. much appreciated!
Really great Video, Satori bro. I was not aware of that Option(script) in File section, all the Scripts are really helpful and some are just beyond my expectation. I'm gonna definitely use them all and some more of them too. 😍😍 Thank you so much for this tutorial bud!! I have one request bro, if you don't mind can you please use that music which you used in your past videos? 😅that sounds really Soothing!
I've always used Cmd + 7 to "crop" external images to any closed path/shape I choose. I reckon it's technically making a clipping mask, but is this not the same outcome?
@@Andmau2552 nope, I'm talking about cropping. As in the excess pixels are gone. That's my whole point. I got into a bit of a tiff with someone in another comment. And you can do it with a non-rectangular shape.
You CAN crop Images in Illustrator. In this example, you are not effecting the actual image, but the shape it sits inside of. You don't need a script. (1) Draw a box, or circle or any other shape OVER the Top of your Image. Make sure only the stroke is shown and have no fill so you can see the image below. (2) Select both the new shape on top and the Image below. (3) Go to 'Object ---> Clipping Mask --> Make' (4) Done! Later: You can also just select the shape at any time, OR click on the nodes/handles and change the shape by pulling on it. And you can double click on the image inside the shape to move or resize the Image. Think of this method like an Image within a Frame, and the Frame can be any shape you want. (P.S: I find any Script too lazy for the beginning Designer. Learn the fundamentals the longer way and understand what is happening, and only then use Scripts if you are really 'time poor' in a Professional Job and you were 'batch processing' many elements OR repeating the same tedious process many times. Cheers
J J You can actually crop in Illustrator without a script. People often wish to crop to get rid of extraneous data to cut down on file sizes. The real question is, why is this guy telling people that you need a script to crop in illustrator when it’s already pretty fast and easy to use.
Using 'Crop Image' ONLY crops a copy of your linked file in a basic manner....and it embeds it. And it only crops in a square/rectangle shape. The method I showed enables the user to draw ANY shape and make a clipping mask (crop) and place the image into that. And if you keep that image in the illustrator file and it remains linked, you can go back out into Photoshop edit it's contrast, colour, appearance or whatever and when you pop back into illustrator, illustrator will note the changes. The cropping method I describe in illustrator does not hurt the initial Photoshop file or change it, it simple puts it in a new shape window you have drawn........and you can draw an shape your heart can imagine. (And a simple tip: Don't mess with the inbuilt qualities of a Photo/Image.....in illustrator. Do that in Photoshop, then bring that adjusted pic back into illustrator. Leave it linked if you 'think' you might change it at a later date. Or, if you're happy with the image ONLY in illustrator, embed it as a copy, which has now lost its link to the original image outside of illustrator. And make your decisions based on possible future changes and files sizes between an illustrator linked file and a fatter file with an embedded image) Cheers
That script for cropping image simplify and not contusing for beginners. I remember the first time I use Illustrator I haven't got the way to crop, until I found out that the clipping mask feature is the key.
Your all tutorials are great but some issues with your camera I can see the screen clear but not you. Please adjust your camera settings again to have a clear video.
I create action, saving file whit any specific settings. But when i apply same action on second file, its save with the same old file name and overwrite old one. Is there any option to run file saving action with having always a unique name file?????????????

Select image and crop is now a feature in CC. You can even set you DPI/PPI :)
CC 2018 has the crop feature in the properties panel. Actual image crop, no masking or workarounds.

Crop can be done natively in AI by drawing a box on top of a image or a group, selecting both and doing ctrl+numpad7 ! No script needed for that !

For those wondering. Yes, you can crop an image directly but just square-shaped and not with an external object
Thanks a lot man

That is incorrect. You can crop to a shape. I use Illustrator for a living and I do it all the time.

Hey Nak, by any chance are you from Thailand or Laos??
You can crop with Clipping Masks, right?
It's for full art board what if u need a small pic and crop it
cropping discards unwanted pixels reducing file size. Masking just hides pixels, file size remains the same.
