    Something to think about that wasn't explicitly talked about is the rarity of the experience a certain car provides. To me the reason zondas, rufs, Cgt's and the F1s are crazy money is they are known for being unbelievable to experience rather than just being numerically rare.

    • @Duh_Huh_24

      It is understood that car people prefer cars that are both collectible and fun to drive. Of course the rare ones that drive well are the most desirable.

    • @davidhebrank9946
      @davidhebrank9946 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Duh_Huh_24 the conversation was about what makes cars valuable. I'm saying the rarity of the experience is the main contributing factor. When everyone started saying the f50 was the better car to drive compared to the f40, values changed and now f50s are twice the price. People started talking about the experience in a different way.

    • @Duh_Huh_24
      @Duh_Huh_24 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@davidhebrank9946 I agree.There are number of factors at play. Using your examples...
      The f40 was an instant cult classic and people were collecting them while f50 production was still underway. The f40 was never known as a great driving car and they made 4 times as many as the f50. Ferrari collectors eventually started grabbing the rarer f50 for their collections and the values spiked. As companies make fewer v12 cars you'll eventually see the values of all v12's skyrocket.
      Ferrari is unique in that their home office in Italy determines who gets allocations for new cars. They reward their collectors with allocations of their future cars so if you wanted the la ferrari, or want the daytona sp2 or the next hypercar you need a full collection to even be considered.

    Many smart considerations there.....Going in all directions. Not easy to predict everything. But the visceral experience is probably important. I don`t think stupid politicians are able to ban older cars ( they don`t contribute to CO2 because they are so few). So I think it will be possible to drive sportscars in the future also. So as you say: visceral, something that can be used/ maintained a bit easily, looks, sound. But I guess for the REALLY rich people the can also take the cars that aren`t easy to maintain. I have no idea!
    I drove my Mercedes AMG GTR with DCT today. I enjoy that car equally to my Diablo 6.0 or Ferrari 512 TR when it comes to driving. There is more mystique to the Italian cars, though. But I believe the Mercedes AMG GTR can ALSO be a collector car in the future. But no electric car. No! not possible. The Rimac will be a 100 000 USD car someday 🤪

    One thing you could have mentioned; Who will maintain the cars in the future? A lot of mechanics that have knowledge about older cars are retiring. The XJ220 will be maintained by Don Law and sons in Britain for instance, and Porsches are so plentiful that it will never be a huge problem. But experts on tuning a Countach or 512 BBi....what is the future there? That`s one thing I have thought about. I guess there will be fewer experts and you will in greater extent need to transport your car several hours to have it maintained.

    Manual Porsche's with naturally aspirated GT engines will always hold if not appreciate. The writing is on the wall that Porsche won't continue the manual for much longer - they are moving upmarket and the competitors at the top tier sports car manufacturers have already removed the manual options (Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, etc.) so with the low take rate, the bean counters are already trying to say it's not worth the development / certification / crash testing required to offer manuals. I suspect nicely spec'ed 991.2 GT3's will do particularly well - with PCCB's, buckets, full leather, FAL and particularly PTS. I think the floor will occur in the next 1-2 years for those cars and then it's just up from there particularly because of the 4.0L, smaller body, 5 analog gauges and 2 year production run.

    • @Rocky-hh3yg
      @Rocky-hh3yg 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      That’s so much nonsense. Porsche listen to their customers. Idiots have been saying since the 911R that Porsche won’t make anymore manuals. It’s hilarious. Porsche will continue to offer a manual version for the 911 for as long as there’s a call for one, and that call isn’t going away anytime soon.

It will need to be dependent if they survive, and the service will still be able to be completed by the manufacturer, but for me personally some of these coach building projects are very interesting as “halo cars”.

    As a 21 Gen Z I do think where still gonna have an appropriation for cars that are coming out now and the old stuff as always wether if it’s 80’s Euro cars, 90’s JDM cars, post 2010’s Domestic cars, or any supercar regardless what decade. What I think will influence my generation is definitely what you guys said video games, social media, our favorite automotive TH-camrs, and to some extent seeing our favorite artists like (Travis Scott, Asap Rocky, Tyler The Creator, and Xavier Wulf) weather if it’s there personal car or used in their music video. That being said my generation will be going after the same cars that Millennial car enthusiasts grew up with 90’s JDM cars, post 2010’s BMW’s, newer Lamborghini and Ferrari models, E30 BMW, 190E Mercedes, MK5 Supra, R35 GT-R, GR-Corolla, C7/C8 Corvette, Hellcat Chargers/Challengers, 6th Gen Camaro ZL1/ZL1 1LE, Porsche 911 GT3RS, and Audi R8 V10
