Probably the best Pop song ever recorded... That voice ( Karen ), the composition ( Burt Bacharach ) and the excellent arrangement ( Richard ). And - in addition - it's got that "something" to it one can NOT explain. But what all great songs share. What makes everybody instinctively stop what you were doing - and listen up and drift.

Full of tears and couldn't control my emotion😅
I was 4 when this song came out. It made me remember the awe I had in the possibilities of life. The late 60's early 70's, so full of brightness, learning and shiny growth in my memory. Never alone, always with friends, neighbors, cousins and lot's of laughter. I am blessed to have experienced this. I miss those sweet times.
Thank you Simpsons for introducing me to such a beautiful song 🥹
I think people forget that Karen Carpenter was a drummer as much as a singer.
You know, I didn't even know that until now! And I'm a " '51 model''
Great point. She was a tight drummer!
They should have never took the drums away from Karen.
She was an amazing drummer...very much in the lines of a Buddy Rich. Great moves and grove
I've heard that she enjoyed drumming better than singing.
The 2nd single i ever brought i was 15 i thought she had the best female voice i had heard, 47 years later i still do still miss her
Agree, one in a million, never be another voice as pure as hers was.
Missed terribly RIP
Very sad we lost her way to early I still have all their albums
Probably the best Pop song ever recorded...
That voice ( Karen ), the composition ( Burt Bacharach ) and the excellent arrangement ( Richard ).
And - in addition - it's got that "something" to it one can NOT explain.
But what all great songs share. What makes everybody instinctively stop what you were doing - and listen up and drift.
Such is a perfect voice, there will only ever be one Karen Carpenter.
This will remain forever, just like all the beauty in the world.
My heart goes out to Karen Carpenter. Her voice was a gift from God. Everyone loved listening to her❤
She could sing the phone book and make it a top 10 hit.
We miss you Karen!!!
❤ from 2024 for everyone still hear this song!!!
it now 2025, great song!!!
The world is a far better and brighter place for having heard the voice of Karen Carpenter.
The best female voice ever , in any genre .
real music. no autotunes. you played your instrument. you sang with you voice.
This is again a great Carpenters song. I remember singing this 12 years ago. Even to Karen, may she rest in peace. Way to go for them.
Karen Carpenter and Whitney Houston had a gift from God that no singers could match
Whitney was powerful but Karen soothed.
Or was it the other way round.
Both in the special league though. Karen had Burt and Hal though. Win win.
@@antman5474 You’re absolutely correct
@@georgearmour5259 Thanks bro.
Yes, gifts of this magnitude come straight from God. Eddie Van Halen said so himself.
We were lucky to have them both!
This song is ageless. There is never a moment I am fed up or bored with this song. Erase all my daily stress instantly.
One of the best voices ever...silenced by one of the saddest stories ever. We still miss you Karen.
The best female voice of her generation.
My favorite band is Van Halen and this goes to show all genres of music was great back then!
I got to go see them. in Portland Oregon.
Memorial Colosseum. I was only Only
13. it was a great concert. I’m 65 now
great concert. so sad she died so soon
beautiful voice
When I was young, my sister and I saw the LAST EVER concert of Sonny and Cher. It was at the 'Showcase Theater,' Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita, CA.
Historic! A stellar moment of humankind! Gods in action!
i still remember how stunned i was when i first watched this video, a girl drummer with a lovely voice singing a beautiful song. i was 13.
자주 듣는 노래..
아름다운 곡예요!
THE ELEGANCE OF THIS SONG IS TOO MUCH
The song is timeless.....
RIP Karen.
Music back then was simple and fresh.very easy to just kick back and relax.
So sad that she did not find happiness. She brought joy to so many. I pray that the angels led you to the only true joy. Jesus will always be close to you.
The greatest voice I've ever heard. We're always thinking about you.
Before auto-tune, when sound engineering was still a new thing and yet the voice of Karen Carpentier sounds better than most of what we have today
AND she played the drums at the same time. It's completely insane. What a talent!
Karen had the voice of an angel. Brings one to tears thinking of how tragically she passed at such a young age.
Never been anyone like Karen Carpenter.
Never will be.
Thanks for all the happy memories Karen!
A truly unique individual.
Wunderschön. Im Radio höre ich sie oft.
You know it’s a good song when it’s been up for 7 years and it’s still getting comments practically every day. I was six years old when it came out, it takes me right back to that summer…sigh…now to give it another 18 listens…😊
Listening this Christmas season and it's close to all
us. 🎄 Thank you Karen Carpenter for such a beautiful song. 🙏
That "Waah..." at 2:50 takes my breath away...
Me too. Even SuperPussyFinger.
For God ''s sake!..you forced me in it!!..a tear rolled down..
Lyrics pure poetry.
