They smothed it out for an organized Augura Hills run that was held there at the beginning of April. I prefer to go out into nature and have everything in it's natural state, withoutuch evidence of man, but I guess they had to reduce trip liability for their organized run.
@@bertnerny I kind of do too and would have rode the regular bike but many times when I ride just to do a video, I like to take the ebike for the sake of getting to the top fast to do the video on the way down. Plus its much more enjoyable when its hot outside!
@@MTBCommunity do you find the battery on the SL is limiting? I was debating between the regular and SL versions. When I ride with my friends on SL's they always run out of battery
@@mkt8digital709 I don't because I have been riding a regular bike for so long and still do so I usually use trail mode and not turbo. I will use turbo if I just want to get to the top of the downhill to make a quick video or when I ride with my lazy friends who have big boy ebikes and only use turbo so I can try and keep up. Even with the full power bikes the are only good for about 10 miles before they are done and want to stop! My longest ride on the SL so far was 28 miles, 4700 feet of climbing and 3.5 hours of moving time and I think I had 25% battery left. Its definitely still a workout but I think of it as going twice as far and twice as fast for the same amount of energy usage by me. Plus having the lighter weight on the downhill makes the lower power worth it. My bike is a large and weighs 41 lbs. with pedals.
Yes it is but I didn't want to cover up my "helpful" comments with music. Plus if I did, I would have people complaining about the music I decided to use 😄
@@mowerman3892 I'm glad you like it because most of the time its me playing all the instruments except drums. Then once in awhile I will add a live track from one of our improv jam nights with fellow mountain bikers.

That's funny you say that because I was talking to someone after the ride about it and made a joke that someone probably twisted their ankle while hiking so the plowed the whole trail down.
Yeah the one thing I don't like about that bike is the noise. And you still have to pedal them unless you have a full power ebike and then you can put it on turbo and take a nap! I almost see more ebikes on the trail these days than regular bikes though but if it gets people off the couch then its all good. I still prefer my "normal" bike and now that its not hot I ride it more. I will say with an ebike you can ride on a 90 degree day and not worry about having a stroke on the trail!
I think he's peddling plenty!! Not sure I understand all the hate for the assist of an emtb. It makes the climbing tolerable for us older guys and a hell of a workout still (and all the fun!)
I saw that Trailforks update too, thanks for filming the new version. Such a shame, but glad to see there's still a lot of technical sections.
When did you do this ride? Was it today 4/22/22 after the rain?
Yep and the dirt was great!

Is that an ebike?
Yes but it has half the power and a third of the torque as those big boy bikes you normally see. Plus its 10-12 lbs. lighter!
MTBCommunity I prefer manual but ok. Thanks

Well that sucks!
Your engine is quite loud, maybe add some music

Rad! I do the same, write and record all the music on my videos, new to filming MTB stuff though. Just ordered a better action camera.
Nice, Ill have to check it out.

Sounds like a Barbie jeep running in the back ground. Doesn’t anyone peddle anymore? People seem pretty out of shape on the trails these days.
