I got this same one as I use it for work and I’m loving it! I also got the 15 Pro Max for my personal phone and loving it too!! Can’t get over how light it is compared to my old 14 Pro Max
i'm using 12 pro, planning to get the regular 15, it has all what i need, the usb type c port, dynamic island, and longer battery life. i'm good with that.
I feel like the iPhone 15 is the best value iPhone this year. It’s literally 90 percent of the Pro experience for $200-300 less. The upgrades on the 15 are so significant that this is the year to upgrade. I’m considering the 15 for the value but the 15 plus for the amazing battery life. Either way I believe going non Pro this year makes a lot more sense.

Telephoto camera + Lidar? No need, the 2x optical zoom on the 15 is enough for me. Also don't need that pro-res or pro-raw stuff either; that's mostly for the content creators. Action button? Could be useful, but mostly a gimmick. Titanium build? Nice, but most of us are slapping a case on it anyway; plus, the 15's get that nice frosted glass matte finish that only the pros used to have. USB-C 3.0? Personally don't need that either. I'm just so happy we finally get usb-c on all the iphones. A-17 Pro chip? Let's be real, unless you like looking at benchmarks, you either won't care or won't notice a difference for a long time. I guess it'll show its power if you play those console games or do a lot of editing and what not. Cool to do all that on the fly, but really let's just stick with our actual consoles/pc's. No one notices the power of each new chip for doing our daily mundane 'tasks' like scrolling through instagram. Pro-Motion display? Ok, this is the one thing that I wish was in the 15, especially considering the competition which pretty much all have high refresh screens now. Upgrading my iphone 12 soon, and the 15 seems like a no-brainer. And that heat issue from what I've seen only seems to be with the Pro models. It'll probably be fixed soon with an ios update, but for now just getting the regular 15 seems to be the safer play. Now I just gotta decide on the colour; I don't want another black phone, but I don't like the really light pastel colours either. I'd choose the blue though if I do get a coloured one. Only thing I'm really bummed out about is that I really wanted the new dbrand ghost case, but for now at least it's only available for the pro models.

I guess I was a bit more chill here because it was an unboxing lol - and yes, the 11 was undoubtedly one of the best regular iPhones ever made! Definitely no need to rush your dad into upgrading if he’s not having any issues, it should still get at least 2 more years of support too

Wait 5 weeks and get the phone for half off if you buy last year's model, or I think it was $350 gift card for the 14pro.. so you're still saving like %40. Worth it, bro.

I just upgraded today from the 13 pro honestly I love the phone and the Matt black color but it’s not any different usage wise….the biggest difference for me is the type c charging instead of the lightning cable

Yeh definitely test the Pro Max for your use and see if the battery life is fine for you use. You can always return it and get the Plus instead if needed.

I’ll probably make a video on this but I think there are some reasons one could get the 15 over the 14 Pro - the new design, better battery life and USB C are certainly nice to have. But considering you got the 14 Pro Max for slightly less than a new 15, I don’t blame you for going with that instead.
Do the iPhone 15 / 15 plus have a physical sim card slot. I googled whether it was available in the UK with a sim slot, and it didn't really tell me much. I know in the United States it doesn't offer a physical sim slot but not too sure about the UK.
To say 60hz on a display... coming from Apple the richest technology company in the world.. in 2023..on a premium phone costing $800 is "ok" is INSANE. You can buy phones under $200 with 90hz displays and it does make a difference if you pay attention.
I'd rather have better battery life from the 60hz display than the additional refresh rate. Besides for the average user can't even tell the difference because the iphone 15 is soo responsive

I hear Apple plans on "pro-motion" coming included with the base iPhone 17 models. So, it would seem they even feel some of the pressure despite holding off as long as they can essentially that is giving the maximum margins per device sold. Oh and the battery concern you have is again corporatism "delaying" what should already be included in "premium" smartphones of today. This is the tech of today, we all have a smartphone essentially...Apple could manufacture today a phone that is 1.5x thick what we currently have, with 8x the battery capacity (meaning a phone that lasts 4-5 days on a charge, no problem). It's just all delayed to allow for more iterations...

I just finished commenting that this is the best base iPhone since the 11 lol. 11 with the night mode and ultrawide was a game changer. Battery life was great too. Also preferred the photo processing over the 12-14, even though later models had better low light performance.
