  • This is a great training environment to not only work on the principles of passing and possession but also of spacial awareness and decision making.
As always the diagram is being created using Planet.Training/en

Tom, I use the whole squad in appropriately sized grids and challenge them to make sure there is never 2 balls in the same 'grid'. Then I remove the cones that defined the 'grids' and run it again to see if players move in the same way as when the grids were present. The other thing I stress is communication & correctly timed movement before/as/after the pass

It would be really great if you provided a link to download a PDF file with the diagram embed in it to compliment this video. With a few key points and a short description of the activity along with 1 or 2 progression options.

Do you have an effective way to integrate additional players? I have 16 and I'm not sure what to do with the extra 4 beside put them in a side activity.

You could add a fourth 'team' and have them positioned diagonal from each other. The ball would move the same but the players would not rotate. It would not be as dynamic but it would involve all of the players.

You said if the defender wins the ball, he just gives it back to the attacking team. Is there a variation the defender(s) can do when they win the ball?

I don't have a variation with a transition for the defenders. Can you suggest one?

@@WORLDCLASSCOACHING use goals/targets around the field, so the defenders are able to score points.
