@@vittosphonecollection57289 Honestly a lot of the criticism is justified, but I also do feel like people make it out to be worse than it is. My experience with the game was that I did enjoy it somewhat, I did encounter some frustrating moments, but overall I just found the whole thing really bland and mediocre. On a scale from 1 to 10 where anything below 5 is bad and anything above 5 is good, I'd rank the game a solid 5. As a standalone experience, the whole thing is honestly rather harmless. As a Sonic game specifically, it's not great. There's way better games you can play with the same general gameplay style. Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Generations specifically are all a better investment of your time. They all have better controls and physics, and they all have better level design. The character customization is somewhat bare bones, but I do like that it's there and I would like to see it return and be improved on in the future. The custom characters are also the most fun I was able to have in the game, the wispons are the best idea the game has and once you find one that you really like you can honestly have a lot of genuine fun in the stages that allow you to use them, especially when you're trying to complete specific missions instead of just get to the goal. There's definitely a good game buried in there somewhere under the shortcomings and the game isn't as bad as everyone tries to say, but it's by no means a good game either and is a downgrade in standards from what the series was putting out up to that point. This is likely largely to Sonic Team being composed of mostly new hires after most of the remaining original team left following the completion of Sonic Generations. Lost World, Forces, and Frontiers are so far the only mainline games produced by these new devs, so they're very much only just starting to get the whole thing figured out and getting the gist of how to bring these games closer to their full potential before launch.

Looking back, there’s not a lot of good stuff I would consider good enough to bring back or learn from for future games in Forces, though I personally would argue the avatar gameplay shows promise. In terms of individual stages, however, Aqua Road is an excellent idea that just needs some more consideration and length to be a properly good Sonic stage. A maze of slides where daring and skilled players can take big risks by launching themselves off to later parts of the level; I’ve never played Monkey Ball, but I’ll bet those who have would love that concept for a Sonic stage. And Aqua Road was basically there if not for pitifully short length.
Random addition to Drill Wispon. Cancelling charge with a slide makes you ignore boost pads entirely. So when you try out Aqua Road Drill Wispon, make sure you slide to clear every single pad without losing your momentum
Oh. Also in Space Port, with the Asteroid Wispon of all things equipped, going into the 2D section after collecting the first capsule will give you one of the most satisfying 3 seconds of your life. Get the version of it with stomp speed boost, jump, stomp to get the boost, jump right after, pop the ability and glide. Your momentum will skyrocket. Can't replicate it as well anywhere else from my experience.
Try Drill Wispon on bosses btw. It's actually insane. You can hit Metal/Infinite when you aren't supposed to, beat Infinite in less than 20 seconds, (my PB is
Wait I just remembered something If you do your daily missions, and go forward in time after clearing all three, the game will automatically enable the bonus after you go into a menu. The game will give you new missions depending on your date as well. Not only does that mean you can get the 3.0x daily bonus in less than half an hour, but going back to the present while the timer is active extends it. Say you did a week's worth of missions, which sounds like a lot but usually amounts to "stomp" or "boost" in a certain way, then you'll have a week's time added to your "30 minute" exp bonus. Super good for getting medals. And you can extend this timer indefinitely. As well as start at any point. Start two years in the future and boom. You probably won't ever have to worry about exp again unless you still play the same file after all that time.
Something that's also pretty cool is for some reason In sky diving sections if you don't do anything sonic, shadow and the avatar will do an idle animation
