I'm going to love seeing this one come together
Can Hardly wait 😁👍👍👍👍
Hi
Thanks Mary!
Looking forward to your build!
Thanks Peter! 👍
Wow! I love this project already. My first car was a 59 Chevy impala 2 door hard top. 409 with a 3 Duce set of carbs. Power glide was an original cast iron case. The mini moon chrome wheels with Firestone 721 redline tires. The under dash 8 track and fm converter were the entertainment. The bar grill actually cost more than the aluminum factory grill that was so weak that a bird could dent it really bad. The tube grill I had was stainless steel and man did it shine after a good polish. Mine also had the impala bumper with the rubber bullet bumpers.
Have fun building this price of history. It’s a work of love.
with all these new parts looking forward to seeing you work on it like you did with the bus
Jason, it's gonna be a long road, but you WILL make the trip and so will this '59!!!!
Can't wait to see it run and drive😊
Thanks Don
Awesome!!! Cant wait to see this one come to life
Hey Thanks Man! I may need some sheet metal help/advice since I'm not a skilled fabricator. More of a gearhead that can get by but not the best fabricator...lol!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage yeah im down! Let me know what ya need!
Hey buddy! This is Steve, former channel name (Apocalypse Offroad) i re named my channel and am focusing on reviving the old classics now! Just rescued a 1947 Newyorker and 1972 Impala out of the same barn and am currently reviving them!
Hey Steve! I just had to re-subscribe for some reason I wasn't subscribed anymore. Glad to hear from you. I'll be checking ot out! 👍
@@CountryBoyGasGarage thanx buddy!
Great project to start on cant wait see it get fixed up enjoy all your videos
Thanks Jon!
Nice! It's got good bones overall. Would be sweet to see it all sandblasted and ready for welding
Well happy. Was literally thinking that I'd not seen a new CBGG video for a while and *boom* spotted this 👍
Thanks Phil! 👍
Looks like you have a big job ahead of you will be with you as the build progresses
Hey Thanks Brian!
You'll hate this story Jason. When I was young there was a stripped 59 ElCo way back in the woods of the small Michigan lake town I grew up in. The engine , trans , rearend , were all gone the rest was pretty clean. Story went an older guy in town bought it stolen for the drivetrain. Then drug it out there. It sat out there for decades. We Used It For Target Practice ! Oops ! Nobody thought about the future value of those parts. Peace Buddy ✌️😎👍
JASON . it been awhile nice seeing u getting your building up . glad u r doin well.
nice to see your back
Thanks Steven!
Looks to be a pretty big project. But the end result will definitely be worth it. Look forward to more on this one. Be safe and stay well.
Thank You Brian!
She's a "golden girl" from the past, Jason, but you've got your work cut out for you! I wouldn't know where to begin to fix all that rusty sheet metal. But, it will be great to see the progress you make as you tackle each challenge. Best of luck to you, my friend! 49:50
Thanks Robert!
Rust. The bane of all car restorers. I did a bit of cursary checking online and patch panels for 59 Chevys seem to be about as rare as proverbial hen's teeth. I wish you good luck. Getting it running and driving will likely be the least of your worries. If you have other fenders, etc. in reasonably good condition, be thankful. They are getting very hard to find.
I've been waiting on this one thanks
Jason, I wish you didn't live so far away. I would (love❤) to help you on your build & would(love❤) to be in your video's building the 1959. I live in Dallas Texas, born (in 1959) here & never moved out of Texas. The 59 El-Camino & Impala 2 door hardtop are my favorite car's & trucks of all. I'm not going to miss any videos on this build. Take care my friend & be safe. Oh yea! take care of you & yours my TH-cam friend....Also I never miss any of the videos on the Bus build.....Three👍👍👍"s up on the sweet 1959🤩......
Hey Thanks Marvin! I really appreciate that! 👍👍👍
Beautiful old cars, make them grate again,
Very cool ride. I can't wait to see what you do with it 👍
Yell Bud looks like u got some parts, Get that motor going will be a great start for sure, keep it going Man 👍
Thanks Lonnie!
Right on Jason. Checking in from the big town of Lowell.😂
Hey Thanks Nate! So We're neighbors since I'm in Fall Creek! 👍
Awesome. Love your channel. Looking forward to seeing more videos my friend,.✌️
Thanks Wilbur Jewell!
It's Friday October 6-2023 . The chance to watch you rebuild part of your El Camino . Hope to see you on BWs later live vedio tonight. From Flint Michigan Gordon WALKER
Thanks Gordon! I'm gearing up to get back into this El Camino ASAP!
You do have the hard to come by paint dividers on the sides. A red and white car originally? You need (in my opinion) to find a correct 283 if you're going to redo it as a stocker. Frame does look good though but it does have the typical 59/60 rust out. Good luck with it.
Stumbled on your channel from TH-cam recommendations. Loved your bus resto. good wholesome content; subscribed
Hey Thanks Surplus Marty!
I looked up your vin @51:41 online: G (6-cyl) 59 (1959) L (Los Angeles Assembly) 134125 (Sequential Production Number but could include other models). Can't wait to see this beauty running Jason.
Hey Thanks Barry!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage 22,246 were produced in '59 with a base price of $2,138.
I definitely have some extra parts. Dig the car & wish you luck on your journey. Mostly little inter stuff, a set of bird? Hood ornaments n headlight rings, the vented wiper valance? Some bed rail parts mostly drilled out for snaps. Mirror, door handles ... can’t remember it all but there’s a guage cluster no clock I’m still hunting for that and a tailgate interior cover. Let me know if you need anything I have. I’d do you a solid.
I think you need a bigger shed just for all your stuff you got to much awesome video I would hope you get that El Camino running soon and put it on the road tel the family I said hello hopefully thing are good thanks
4:30 we’re just toasted
U know fixxin that stainless trim is fairly easy ..jus make different size an shapes of oak wood dies to fit all angle of ur trim small ping or body hammer an lightly tap dents out ..never metal to metal. Then start with 320 sand paper work ur way down to 2000 all wet sanding buff an polish like brand new. It's hectic work but worth it
Would save me alot of money also. Hey Thanks!
Wow, this is going to be quite a project! As much as I enjoyed your bus revival, I KNOW this is going to be even more awesome! Good luck! 🍀
Hey Thanks! I really appreciate that!
Great project Jason can't wait to see this one come together and going down the road.
Thanks! I got my hands full on this one...lol!
The female wolf Spider is still there, cuz she is guarding her clutch. You are braver than me .. I be in the house with the wife .. lol
🤣...lol! I'm fine, unless they are on me...lol! 🕷
Hey my man, if you haven't checked out Fitzees Fabrications channel, you should. He has a bunch of videos on doing Cut & Butt welding to car sheet metal that will have you creating your own old panels for these cars in no time. He's an amazing teacher on fixing old sheet metal for these cars. Anyone with a little welding experience can do it, he's amazing and I highly recommend checking him out. You will be replacing old sheet metal in no time!
Awesome! I will check him out. Thanks!
get a pice of 4" pvc t
tube & store the trim in it and hang it on the wall out of the way
Awesome! Thanks!
Excellent idea!
@@philgrimsey3637 that way it will be there when your looking for it And keep them in good shape . yeah i had to learn the hard way . have a great day
Looks like you've got plenty of work ahead of you. You're. Gonna have quite a. Few? Panels to replace that are rusted thru or c*** job on
Way To Go, Jay!
Thanks!
Great to see you back at it in the new stuff! I missed this one some how! Brake clean kills all insects btw heh. Though wolf spiders are pretty cool. Never seen so many. Guess it's all the woods? Keep on keepin on man! I Dig it! 🤘
Hey Thank You!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage anytime man! 🤘
Jason, you'll need to look online about the '57 Chevy front spindles, brakes and drum parts. I'm thinking the '58, '59 and '60 Chevy's "might" share parts, but not with the tri- fives, I'm thinking....
Jason, unless your hood is missing some trim, this was a 6 cylinder car when new. If it was a V8, there would be a V above the Chevrolet script.
Hey Thanks Howard!
That techno crap was priceless ..
ewwwwwww web !
🕸
Livonia mi checking in
Hey Steve
Hi ! Man You have a lot of work with this el Camino! I also see You have a honda cx 500😉 i got one too - 1979. Thank You and good luck .
Hey Thanks LEWAR! I just picked that one up for dirt cheep. He hit a deer on it so the fender and tank are totalled. Then it sat for almost 2 years. I will do a will it run video on it. I built a CX500 years ago. I made it into a café racer but I eventually sold it.
So refreshing to see anything that says Made in the USA…..
Would be nice to treat the whole chassis and undercarriage with rust converter to at least neutralize that rust.
Yes Totally!
So ur not laying on rocks go get a bag of concrete mix and just to try it so u will see what I’m saying spread it out over a area and let it set just smooth it out and don’t add water it will pull it from the ground and it will harden up so it is a smoother surface to work on then the rocks just try it a bag of cement isant that much and then u can decide if ya want to go on with it or not
Hey Thanks!
I have some carbs and I believe a distributor laying around if you need one let me know.
Hey I appreciate that!
Your to have a laugh could had been built in Flint Michigan .also it's being 1959 El Camino .I'm 63 .the El Camino also is 63or 64 .years old lol lol

Hey Thanks Henry!

6:26 HOLY SH#T 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖 KILL IT
😱😱😱😱Looks like a 5 year build. ????????
Depending on how far I go with it
@@CountryBoyGasGarage Yep its a big job it's gonna take a miracle. lol 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😁😁
How's the El Camino holding up after nearly a year without additional uploads on it? Did it get spruced up like you wanted?
No, I haven't touched it since this video. Everything is still sitting right where I left it. Life got so busy for me but I plan on getting back to work on is very soon.
I don't recall seeing a drive shaft. Do you have one ?
Yes there is still one under the car. It's disconnected but it's there
When is the next part?
Hopefully soon. I haven't touched it since this video because I been so busy with the family and our property. I'm super excited to get back on it asap!
Hey man, I see the car is from Oregon. Me too. Are you?
Hey Craig! Yes I'm in Fall Creek just outside Springfield
Jason!
Is the tattoo on your left inner forearm an ambigram?
If so, what does it say?
It says "Skye Lee" my daughters name. 😊
@Country Boy Gas Garage That is sweet!
I have the same respect.
I ended up hitting an Ambigram that says "Family: one way, and "Forever" when you look at it the other way.
I got it because of loosing both my parents in 3 years to the date.
3-13-20 & 3-13-23.
Though my folks are no longer here, they will forever be my family.
Great episode! Very glad to see you finally working out of " the Shop"!
Is that a 3 speed trans ?
Yes
Too much talk , very little action 😠
Ok... 👍
Finally my favorite channel! Doing great keep it up! All in for the ride.
Thank you Sherria! 😊
