Make sure you run the program as admin this will happen due too the fact that the program cannot access the herostat.engb because it is located in program files
Hey, Frankie, I have a problem. When I run the decompile from xmlbcui program and then go to edit to open the notepad where it has all the herostat data, there is no data there. I'm talking about the part of around 3:10 seconds on your video. It opens up an empty notepad. Nothing is there. I can't do anything with that. Do you know why this is? Hey, not sure if you're still trying to find a solution but I was having the same problem, and I found a fix for it. First do a google search for "herostat.xml". You'll find a download from 2shared. DL it, and add the file to you Xmenlegends2/MUA folder. Bing, bang, boom. XMLBCUI will find it, and you can edit normally. I used it for X-men legends 2 and it was goodbye Sunfire, hello Cable! Hope that helps.

Troy Budol Open heroselect and then select any characters you like and then put them in any slot number. You will have to select the entire roster (27 characters I think) from scratch. After you are done selecting your roster, there will be an option Launch MUA in heroselect. The game will launch with the characters that you have selected but yeah do back up your original files just to be on the safer side.
guys I can't freaking put the Venom mod in this game I've tried using hero select and I've tried replacing him But each time I try to save the herostat.xml file, it first puts me in the save as screen and then it tells me that I'm not allowed to replace the herostat.xml file Why is it that it doesn't simply let me save the file. This comment may be late. For xmen legends 2 you can just replace herostat. Since xmen legends 2 doesn’t use herostat.

There is no menulocation in x-men legends 2 HELP!
You just do the same exact thing. XML2 doesn't use menu location so you just copy over the hero stat and your done

I am using XML2 instead of MUA. I accedently copied and kept both files when merging instead of coping and deleting. Is there any way to reverse this?

Just my opinion, I find heroselect easier to use than XMLBCui. Some sort of error happens when I use XMLBCui.
