Thanks, still learning to drive the thing, I’ve got the downshifts sorted but need to work on trail braking into the corners and rotating the car mid corner but I think the alignment and anti-roll bars need looking at.
Excellent driving..and that's a 2.7 !!...wow......Good stuff... just come back from a trip to Scotland with a few Porsches and i pal in a 987 2.7 kept up with an R8 and GT3 RS on the twist'ies !!... I put x73 anti roll bars front and rear on our 981 BS its transformed the car.
Thanks, yeah a 2.7 with some go faster bits, it still lacks torque so it really needs to stay in the higher revs, the close ratio 3-4-5th gear and lighter flywheel help a lot. I’m probably going to do the same with the x73 bars, I’ve went for a base 718 rear anti roll bar which made a slight improvement but I think x73 all round is needed.
@@villaman4818 I’m yet to go to any PCGB events, do you know of anything happening in the next month or so? I’ve got a big France road trip booked for July/August so stopped looking at trackdays etc until after
only issue (depending how the car feels) and its hard to tell on the video - on quite few turns you are breaking too early for my liking and you were riding the break pedal - approx. 1.5 sec is a max to be on a break pedal...
I think when this was recorded I had designtek race headers and modified internals on the standard silencers. If you watch my latest video, I’m running Top gear race headers with the same modified rear silencers. The designtek headers were actually cracked on this video and later on in the day blew a hole open on one side
It’s a Guards transmission 3rd, 4th & 5th gear set fitted by Ninemeister in the UK along with their lightweight flywheel. It’s the best upgrade for that car, the heavy dual mass flywheel and gearing strangled the car.
@@Jay-ww4ru Yeah they sure do, there are a few companies that make the gears and a couple who do closer final drives. Guards, Hollinger, KMP drivetrain for gears and RPM Technik, Autoquest for final drives.

The 2.7 is a great engine. Lives to rev. And some fine driving as well.

@@adrianc101 I never know Guards make gear set for 981. The lighter flywheel definitely makes the car rev better.

Has your car got a different final drive? The Gearing seems shorter than usual ?
Not final drive, I had a shorter 3rd, 4th and 5th gear installed by Ninemeister along with a lightweight flywheel
