- let's make some characters! a few of you guys asked me about my character profles/plans for my novels so i decided to make a video to share my writer tips and tricks for creating 3D and believable characters for your books.

Being an artist and a writer at the same time is very beneficial. Instead of using an app to create characters I just draw them🤷♀️
I agree, however Im more of a costume/clothing designer so I make use of Artbreeder for the Character, but Design the outfits myself

I like how you write characters! Honestly, characters are super important in any storyline so I am happy to see that you made an entire video dedicated to just that. Delle looks really awesome and I like the fantasy in it + the art. Very well executed. Wishing you luck on that project!

I don't write books / (fanfiction or anything in general) but I DO create characters for my own entertainment, and struggle getting inspo or idea's. So thanks for this!

I want to make a heart-wrenching book where the pages will be stained by the tears of the reader. As soon as someone gets attached to a good character they will get killed off in the most disgusting horrifying way possible.
Even though it will be a sad book it's also going to be very heartfelt and have its happy and funny moments, I love sob stories where the main characters and just kids who need help from the adults and they never get the help they need and slowly grow into a family that's been stitched together by the circumstances of what the adults and gods have put them into 😉

I love Delle! My character is a lot like her :) I also enjoy adding funny/ironic things into their profiles. My character, Nevaeh, is really good at swimming but is terrified of deep water
haha thats so awesome! quirks and phobias make a character so fun!

The way you write your characters is beautiful! I struggle with writing characters and creating profiles, so this helped with both making characters for a book and characters in general! Also, I need that keyboard 😅

I’m honestly a good writer but I’ve NEVER wrote in an other language before! I’m bilingual but there is such a huuuge different between knowing a language and being able to make it lyric

Thank you for teaching me a little about how to organize your character lists, and design the characters. I made my own list but it wasn't as organized, I didn't think to add 'strengths' and 'weaknesses' thank you for helping me create better! You have a lot of intelligence and talent. I love what you said in the Outro. How characters tells you what is going on. And to me, that's the best part about writing. Finding out the story, spontaneously.
Thanks for showing this site! It's really accurate for wanting to know what your character looks like and it's fun making them come to life! Also a few things I discovered is, if you go to expressions,mouth closed makes the character lighter,mouth open makes the character darker and angry makes the character's face smaller but also serious at the same time.

This is so helpful! I'm really trying to develop my characters as their traits are so pivotal in what they do and how they think. Also followed your artbreeder tutorial and it's amazing, I love it so much! Thanks for taking the time to help beginner writers like me

Hi! I really like all of your characters, they are really well thought out and creative. Definitely I will look forward to reading a book with them in the future. I hope that my character development gets better because my characters are simple and don't really have that much of a backstory so this is inspo that I can get better at that!

Thank you, I can write stories with nice prose and interesting premises, but I still need more tips on how to build believable characters.
Very helpful! I made a character named Della (meaning Noble; bright) which is ironic to her personality which is suppose to kind of foreshadow to her growth in the future. I have a good idea I know what I want write. I have vague ideas but it’s helped to map out the main character!
U could also use the app character planner it's similar or better🤔

I've been trying to find tips in writing and making characters recently so this video really helped so thank you. But I have a question, how can you find or make a perfect or at least suitable name for your characters? And also James of places and kingdoms
Names of places/kingdoms depends on the genre you’re writing in, I can give different advice based on what genre it is if you’d like? And for character names if you’re having trouble coming up with them I’d recommend using a random name generator. A lot of them have options to specify character traits/ time period ect so the name fits. I’ve never looked into it but I’m sure there’s a generator out there for kingdoms too.
Hi again. Thanks for making this vlog, it was insightful, I do try to write by hand some of my characters appearance. But not fully in depth, which I think that I need to do so.

Reason for me asking is because all my things that I needed to use to build up my info was on my laptop, but unfortunately, it crashed last year. So now I am using a Tablet, and trying to figure out what good app's to use to redo everything again.
And love your computer screen and light up keyboard, which I need to find a Bluetooth wireless keyboard for my tablet that light up keyboard to use when I have room lights off during the hot days, since it is summer time here in my country (south Africa, western cape).
haha it’s summer here too I’m Australia - it gets so so hot!! but I recommend using the online writing software called Google Docs. u can use your gmail/email account to sign in! (as for how I created the photo - I used art breeder❤️) sorry to hear about ur laptop :( but using google docs will help ur documents be saved online, so if anything were to happen, you’d have it on the cloud. hope this helped! xx
Hi, I've read in the comments that the app you're using is google docs? I was just wondering how near the beginning of the video you have a table of contents? Your maps, numbered characters etc. I have 72 characters on one google doc and it's kind of stopped working properly, the find function just refuses to believe certain characters exist because they're so deep in the document. So yeah any tips on how I can better organize would be greatly appreciated, thank you for this informative video
aw that’s awesome! of course I can help. for every section I want to be made i write down the title and go up to the top banner and click on ‘header 1’. this makes it into a section which you can click on in your directory. hope this helped xx

aww thank you! i am so glad you found my channel! i use google docs for my writing software and artbreeder to create my characters! its so good working online (using Google Docs/Google Drive) because everything saves real-time, online so i can access it everywhere (like on my phone when i'm out!) its so awesome you have ideas! please write them down!! xx keep me updated, lovlie.

@@laurine3922 Ok I found it out! She uses google docs, and to creat the tabs with all the different characters she uses headers in the format option, I couldn’t find the template so I just used hers as a reference and made one similar, that should help you!

I love it so much!! but I think you forgot the character misbeliefs, fears, and desires. Their internal conflict why it matters to them and not just a punching bag to the plot. But anyway, thanks for the character profile idea.
