Great job tying this fly, I think you made some wonderful alterations to original. I do like the grizzly marabou but hard to find. This is my favourite crayfish pattern for smallmouth fishing. If okay, I would like to feature your fly tying in my online magazine? It is called The New Fly Fisher. Email me if you wish to discuss and again, well done!
I believe you're right. Because I have easy access to a yellowish/gold mallard feather supply and not a bronze mallard feather, that is what I use. This slight variation is what I like to use and still works really well.
Ive only used the thin and flow formulas from loon, but I absolutely love it. Ive tried using some other brands of uv and found they are nothing like the stuff from loon. The uv torch that I am using comes from the Lund's fly shop. It is the only torch that I have tried and I cant justify any reason to get a new one.
