Thanks for this. At 2:17 the battery compartment just slides open. Mines stuck - I guess the batteries have leaked.

I know I'm late, but it takes time for the flash to "warm up". After you switch to flash mode, wait for several seconds until orange light comes up
Will the flash work without film? I bought one of these and I placed new batteries but the flash ready light doesn’t come on at all. Is it broken?
it should be working even without film, if that is the case , the flash not working
