After turning my hair green and purple every time, and almost completely throwing out all my purple shampoos, I searched to see if you had a video about the topic. And you did! Tried this yesterday and it worked! No green, no purple, only slightly less yellow 🥳 (my hands are also less purple)

I have recently transitioned to my old lady hair. LOL Silver hair. I am on well water and don't want any yellow or brassiness to infiltrate my silver hair. With that said, should I use the Redken Purple Mask or the Redken Silver Gradient Conditioner and maybe Redken Frizz Dismiss Shampoo? I have to confess I love it when my coloured shampoo/conditioner leaves my hair a weird purpley blue colour, but I have a brunette-grey balayage at the moment (and used to have all kinds of fun coloured ombré hair in the past) so I think the hint of purple/grey is super fun for a wash or two! I have learnt so much watching your vids and I now know I’ve been using my products in the wrong way, and I’ll save heaps of product (and moolah) following your advice…

What do you recommend to make your gray hairs look as healthy as the rest of your natural pigmented hair? I'm starting to get gray hairs here and there and they are coming out with a coarser texture.
The guide for Olaplex purple shampoo says to use a shampoo (preferably a clarifying one) before using the Olaplex purple. Makes sense in this context. I like the Olaplex, I dont experience any additional drying out of my hair due to that.
I went to get this purple mask and I love it!! I used to buy the big bottles of the Redken purple shampoo and conditioner, but the shampoo dries out my hair and I didn’t see much of a difference with the conditioner. The mask works really well!
What do you recommend for regular shampoo? I use the Redken extreme shampoo and conditioner and for a mask the macadamia deep repair mask. Now I added the purple mask 😊

I was wondering about this. I am in the process of going gray. I am washing my hair with purple shampoo and a normal conditioner about once a week. Will have to check out the mask. My ends become extremely dry even with only washing my hair once a week.

Chris, can you please help me ... 4 years ago I grew out my hair and had beautiful white/silver hair. There was one dark grey spot in the back that I didn't like, so I had a salon try and "fix" it. When she was done I was a platinum blond. I am BESIDE myself! I LOVED my white hair. She used bleach. I've been crying for a month. How can I get rid of that blond color that I now have? I just watched this video and think the Redkin purple mask might help me deal with this "blond" while I AGAIN grow out my hair. Thank you.
What about Fanola purple (no yellow) or blue (no orange, for darker hair) masks? The Fanola shampoos won't clean as good as the Redken and are drying. But if we can't use the purple Redken mask due to it containing wheat protein (some of us can't tolerate wheat or gluten containing products), what is a good alternative?
Would it be better to use Olaplex's purple shampoo, or a purple (or blue if hair is darker) like Fanola's masks? If we use the Olaplex purple shampoo, should we use the Redken Volume Injection on the scalp and then the Olaplex purple, as we might stain the scalp with the purple?
If we already have Fanola's purple or blue shampoo, and we use the Redken Volume Injection first, is it okay to just quickly run the Fanola (or the Olaplex one) shampoo over the hair quickly, then follow with a mask? Hey Kayla! Olaplex has a good purple shampoo. If you already bought it go ahead and use it! It can turn your hair purple if you leave it on too long. So just remember to start small. Don't leave it on very long. If it does turn purple it will slowly fade. But you're better off making sure it doesn't turn purple in the first place :)

If someone recently bought a moroccanoil purple shampoo from their salon prior to finding your video (😭) and its too late to return it, how can the purple shampoo fit into a normal hair wash routine? Does it replace the second round of shampoo, or would you still use your soulmate shampoo twice and THEN the purple shampoo, followed by mask or conditioner etc.?

Sure, I'm not a big fan of spinning irons bc the curl doesn't last very well. But if your hair holds a curl very very strongly it will be ok 👍 Kenra color charge is my favorite color safe shampoo 🙏

Hard to say without seeing your hair. But if you can look at a picture of your hair right after the highlights were done, and then look at your hair now... If you liked the highlight color more in the first picture more then yes purple shampoo will help 👍

Is the Redken brand you buy at Meijer or CVS the same as the kind you’d buy from Sally’s or a hair salon?
Sometimes. But other times it can be diluted, expired or counterfeit. Redken won't sell directly to those stores. So they get it from second hand dealers. Hard to say if it's good or not!

I’ve watched most of your videos. I haven’t seen any that talked about short/ medium length hair with layers. I’m a 52 year old with hair that is dyed blonde. The sides of my hair are thinner and won’t grow past my jawline. Any ideas ?
Olaplex 3 hair repair fixed that problem for me. My sides were all frizzy and wirey, now they are nice and smooth.

Nah :( natural blonds generally don't have much brassiness to neutralize. And natural blonde doesn't absorb the pigment as well because it's healthier and less porous than artificial blonde.
Bc mask is going after shampoo and I’m blonde from the root I need the mask all the way up on my roots This mask is leaving my hair greasy and I will need to wash my hair again in a day or two so I guess purple shampoo is better.? Pls help

I have suuuuper fine hair & use purple shampoo on all of my hair, including my roots, then I shampoo with my regular shampoo. Never greasy.

I have fine hair that gets oily very easily and using a purple mask doesn’t make my hair get greasy any quicker than it normally does!
"Purple" products really aren't shampoo or masks. They're just toning products. You can put them anywhere your hair has blonde without worrying about them making your hair greasy 👍 It's nothing like a normal mask.
