Disney just throws up a slide show and says: “we kinda want to do this” then they don’t. This is a fantastic preview and I’m sure millions are planning to visit.
Main reason why I love Universal. Whenever they release an idea the building starts the next day. They don't mess around.
The first comment can just be the first four words: “Disney just throws up”. Pretty much sums them up lately 😆

Until Disney can give us our Owl House theme park, we’ll be on Berk… riding dragons and being Vikings of the Norse world.

IOA has 14 (not including shows)
This park according to permits is going to have approximately 12 rides (not including shows) on opening day. It also has several expansion plots for future expansion. (Admittedly I counted Star fall racers as two because it’s a dueling coaster)
It doesn’t seem like a lot of rides but it’s on par with the other Orlando resorts.

It's amazing how far Cressida Cowell's idea for a story with Vikings and dragons has come since she started with the idea at the age of 9. I love a good success story like How To Train Your Dragon's has

Most Universal fans do not realize how lucky we are to have these really indepth promotional videos. As a Tokyo Disney fan, we still know next to nothing about Fantasy Springs and it's opening in June. This looks amazing too and looks like it could rival DisneySea in terms of theming! I really wish I lived closer to America so I could visit this Epic Universe...

I also am really excited to see the show. I have purposefully avoided watching the clips of the show so that I can be surprised when I see it at EU.

Meeting Toothless could be the definitive moment of the entire park if it works right and guests aren't hustled through as quickly as possible. Super stoked to explore Berk.

I genuinely am so thankful that Universal is picking up the torch that early imagineers lit. This feels like The major Disney World expansions when I was growing up, watching those VHS tapes about Expedition Everest and the like. Can't wait to be able to visit this land of joy.

I have to be honest, I originally wasn’t too thrilled with this land. I’ve never been a fan of the “How To Train Your Dragon” franchise. The movies never interested me. This promotion video has definitely changed my thoughts and I’m so excited and thrilled to see this in person! Wow! Now I HAVE to see the movies. Universal…well done! 👏🏼
This was the land that I wasn't sure if I'd love but after watching this video I have completely changed my mind and it will be awesome I cannot wait more to go to epic universe

I’ve watched the park change since 1992. I spent my childhood there, brought my husband there, & have now been able to bring my kids. I can’t wait to make new memories with all 3 generations.

How To Train Your Dragon is my favorite animated movie of all time. I promise you that this will be my favorite land in the park.

I have no words, it's wonderful, it's magic. When Epic Universe opens, I'll be there. The Epic Universe is perfect, with the five thematic areas, I think the Hary Potter Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe and Dragon Isle of Berk will surprise us!!!!!!

From the first time i watched these movies, i remember thinking "they could make such an amazing ride out of this!" Knowing that it's not just a ride, but an entire land is so exciting, to me!
If Universal keep this up then Disney will be left in the dust. Great to have some solid competition!

Oh my goodness - I’m so glad someone else caught that!! I nearly jumped out of my seat in gratitude when I heard Away With Your Fairies. Surprise Mountbatten Festival 2023 vibes! (See the end of the concert if you’re unsure of what I’m talking about.)
As much as I enjoyed HTTYD, I couldn’t focus on what they were saying, thanks to my disbelief that they selected TSFH to be in a promotional. I’m always on the hunt to see where they might jump up next.
It still is bittersweet for me, too, after Thomas and Nick going their separate ways not long ago. Myth was their final album, though they will continue releasing things separately, like Nick’s Heart of the Ocean out yesterday. If you didn’t know about the split before my news, I’m sorry that it had to happen through this message.

I’m already absolutely IN LOVE. You guys NAILED it! Speaking as someone who’s more deeply attached to this franchise than probably any other one and who’s had it as her favourite movie series of all time ever since the day I walked out of the cinema as a little 5 year old almost 15 years ago, this genuinely made me emotional (which isn’t hard with this series to be fair lol. I can’t even listen to the score without tearing up. But even so!). I’ve literally always wanted something like this
I can only hope this helps a new generation of kids who didn’t get the pleasure of growing up alongside this series (because woah! It’s already been 5 years since the final film came out!) fall as in love with it as much as I did all those years ago ❤

There really is no reason to compare this to what Disney is doing because Disney is doing amazing work as well, even if they are not adding major expansions to their theme parks. Their amazing work is reflected more in their promotion of diversity and inclusion.
For example, they are providing representation to marginalized voices, such as queer and non-binary people and others within the LGBTQIAS2+ community. They are bringing black and brown voices to center stage with incredible attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Moana’s water fountain in the EPCOT. They are elevating women to higher decision-making positions all throughout the company.
Disney doesn’t need to expand their theme parks anyway because they are fine just the way they are. They are four theme parks, and that’s honestly enough for most theme park guests. What is needed now is to showcase diverse voices and inclusive stories. Disney does that better than Universal in every possible way.

Their theme parks have low attendance, box office flop after flop, stock crashing, public opinion of the brand is sour, and they're losing their core audience to woke messaging. A glorified water fountain queue and reskinning a subpar IP over a superior IP is NOT gonna convince people Disney is doing better than Universal right now. They can't expand the parks because they don't have enough capital. That's why they're giving cheap rethemes and "experiences" instead of new rides, new lands, or theme parks.

OMG! when I first heard about Epic Universe and how one of the lands is based on one of the most legendary series about Dragons of all time HTTYD I was super excited now seeing this made me have chills! there is nothing in this part of the land where it looks numb or plane every single part of it is just one magical masterpiece after another! and the rides that so called family coaster looks as intense as Hagrid"s coaster or even the Velocicoaster in both designing and surroundings and Fire Drill looks super fun especially on a hot summers day! also I cant wait for the toothless meet and greet I expect them to add the other riders and their dragons too in the future. I also expect when theres another mega expansion like this they add more lands based on other Dreamworks movies like Shrek, The Bad Guys, Kung Fu Panda or even The Wild Robot. seeing this theme park also gives me great hopes and excitement for the live action film because I know after seeing this they will bring justice to the live action film as well! great work Universal cant wait to see this!

I’ve only seen the first movie, but this makes me want to binge watch all 3! This area of Epic Universe is a great balance against the Dark Universe area. I’m particularly excited to see the reveal video for Dark Universe as the Universal Monsters are one of my favorite properties!
