Here are two videos i did with these foam tiles, the first i had pot lights, the other fixture , the results are outstanding th-cam.com/video/aaC4QuYyHoI/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/oxN9i8-2vgA/w-d-xo.html
That seems like it would look horrible with all the half pieces around the border. What that approach was taken with a tiled bathroom, it would look horrendous, I think.
Yes , i agree. i did this method but its harder to measure out that's all. Here are two videos i did with these foam tiles, results are outstanding th-cam.com/video/aaC4QuYyHoI/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/oxN9i8-2vgA/w-d-xo.html
What kind of glue did you use? I hear this is really important since some glue doesn't hold long or well. The instruction was good but why no finished pictures or supply list?
Have these in my home and thinking of getting more. I know it's a bit late to answer your question but anyway, yes you can typically paint Styrofoam tiles. That being said, common sense when painting anything; test it out first. Paint one tile with a full coat and see what happens. Make sure it isn't some kind of paint that will melt/eat through the Styrofoam or chip off easy. Once you know it will work on one, you can do the rest. Smoking, I don't see how it would stain styrofoam but I also don't smoke and don't allow anyone to smoke near mine. If you value the walls/ceilings in your home, light it up outside or in the garage.
Yes, can be painted, the tiles will stain as bad as any other painted surface. I got two of these foam acoustic files, I put one on popcorn ceiling, one on flat drywall. Did an install timelapse of both. th-cam.com/video/aaC4QuYyHoI/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/oxN9i8-2vgA/w-d-xo.html
ive got soem crappy lookin popcorn ceilings, so i can place them over the ceiling to replace the dingy popcorn look....do these work in the bathroom too?
Yes, these work in bathrooms as well, moisture proof, and if u paint it even better! I put one on popcorn ceiling, one on flat drywall. Did an install timelapse of both. th-cam.com/video/aaC4QuYyHoI/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/oxN9i8-2vgA/w-d-xo.html

I suggest using a *paint roller* and gently run back and forth over the tile to smooth and keep tiles flat...👍
Thank you for this video. I do wish you had shown the finished ceiling however.

Am I the only one that is about to scream watching him touch the same tile 500 Times in this instructional video?
I have a house built in 1927 it has big thick foam sheets with designs on them how can I paint them? Thank you for any help you can give me.
I just love the gypsum ceiling design. If only you can show me which kind of lights to use and where can I place them.

even if the room is square I would finder the center of the room and make it the focal point and work towards the end
+B Agreed. As with tile floor projects, it is best to start in center to make all tiles along edges the same width after they are cut.

Can the tiles be painted if need be? What about smokers? Will the tiles stain very bad?

where can i get 24"x24"tiles(60cmx60cm)
I see you are using Acrylpro ceramic tile adhesive. I dont believe that is recommended for Styrofoam ceiling tiles. How is it holding up?
The company I got mine from recommends Acrylpro for the adhesive.

Isn’t scraping that popcorn with no mask dangerous? Even if it’s not asbestos there are small particles-dust you are breathing.
Didn't even show the final product. He just talked there and the camera didn't even pan up. So useless.

I dont get why they always start in the middle
Why not start from the first corner and work ur way around the room
So the cut sides will be even.
I thought you had to start in the center of the room.
