You're...not wrong. Dan Aykroyd when he was younger (as seen on the SNL opening credits in seasons 2, 3, and 4) looks like Bill Hader. Wonder if that's why Lorne hired him.
Back when one of those sides wasn't simply a fascist mouthpiece with zero actual policies other than screwing over the 99 percent to further enrich the 1 percent. I actually laughed out loud when I saw Cheeto Hitler's campaign ad today about being the savior of social security and Medicare. Like, how scathing an assessment of our education system is it that every single citizen older than 12 doesn't immediately crack up at that BS?
Aykroyd did a pretty spot-on and funny Dole in the late 80s and early 90s before Dole was as popularly known with the public from his presidential run, although Norm MacDonald made him funnier....I agree this was more of a weak effort.
I was actually working for Bob Dole when this was aired. So hilarious.
what was your role?

@@tristramcoffin926 oh cool
I met Bob Doll when I worked in Congress - he treated us interns very kindly. What a good decent man.
Do you happen to know if he saw the video?
Dan Aykroyd looks like Mike Huckabee in this sketch.
That “Mr. Putin” at 2:28 really puts things into perspective. This was released in 2003 and he’s still president!
Dan's Canadian accent slipping through at 4:39
damn it i was hoping it was norm's bob dole

Classic.
Dan Aykroyd looks like he could be Bill Hader's dad.

Dan Aykroyd was a very good comedian and a good actor.
What do you mean WAS ?
I liked Akroyd's angry/aggressive Dole best. Norm's Dole was funny, but too Norm.
@@eval_is_evil he retired to sell new age vodka that’s made from fancy crystals and is bottled in a skull
@@eval_is_evil Well when was the last time you said, "Let's go see the new Dan Aykroyd movie?"
Um, he STILL is.
The announcer got to say, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"
Chris Parnell, cast member.
This is good political satire.
"Clint" Binton is the man!!!!
"Alienating our friends" Wait till 2016!
I saw Bob Dole fall off a stage in person and it was a wild time.
4:42 onwards : Seems kinda sad.

Dan Aykroyd is no Norm MacDonald
Bob Dole would never have been that harsh.
No, but he would have wanted to be!
Back when SNL made fun of both sides equally.

Of course Musharraf likes you. You brought him to power.
This hilarious
Abbey and Abigail, switch roles now. Democracy dies in darkness.
Hmm that non consecutive term suggestion isn’t as much of a joke now
What Year Was This Taken? Im Guessing 1996!
March 2003
They should have brought back Norm for this.

Tragic thing is...they were both right. And most would STILL kill to go back to early 00s..
That's not even Bob Dole...
The Big “C” sounds a bit Like JF-K Sr….Uuummmmm🤷♀️
Wow. Fake bob dole has a point
😆
Wow, Aykroyd did a weak Norm Macdonald impression of Bob Dole rather than his own impression. Sadly failed.

God Aykroyd's Dole stinks.
Well. Dole did always look like he was one prune Danish short of constipation and that was reflected here ...
