I give 1 cup of bran (wheat) every day. And my family has been doing it for just under 80 years no issues. And it helps with sand. Whether or not you want to believe it is your choice but never came across sand colic issues and I never have fed “husk” junk

The horses in our barn get bran mash and are fed alfalfa cubes ever day

And yet for the last 50 years or so, it hasn't appeared to be a problem at all (fed no more than once a week)....it wasn't a problem until all these fancy, expensive, supposedly 'nutrient balanced' feeds came along....hmmmm....and so many of these brand feeds have what? Oh, wheat bran!! Please.

Does rice bran have the same issues of unbalanced calcium and phosphorus as wheat bran?

I have a question about my horse last year my horse had fungus how do I prevented this year

i use sport horse essentials with my horses if they get a fungus you can find other things also to cure it:) i do not know how to prevent it though.

Do horses need salt in their diets? If so how do I know if my horse is getting enough?

Sara b I get my horse white 50lb salt block .. it helps aide in drinking and in other areas.. salt and mineral blocks also stop a horse from cribbing.
