Right with you Raul. Cindy has a beautiful voice and I would not dare say that just because she or Israel sing at Joel Osteen's church that they aren't Christians or believers of the prosperity gospel garbage that Joel's been teaching.
Sorry, I think Pastor Joel is very encouraging. I get blessed every time /I hear him speak. Pray more and you will be more discerning to hear what the spirit of God will say to you when he preaches. He often says a "right now" word from God that will be applicable to what you are going through.
The prosperity part of the gospel is true. I'm a living example of it. God has proven to me that he gives back to those who honor him with the tithe and offerings. Many people shame this because they are not taught the truth of God's word. Malachi Chapter 3 tells us what God will do if we tithe and give offerings to him. I had nothing when I first came to God years ago except a 4 year old son to raise by myself. I saw God plant me in a good church, teach me his word and help me to get a college degree, get a good job , two houses, several beautiful cars over the years and much more. He's a good father who gives good gifts to his children . And if you give to God, He promises to cause men to give to you. I can testify of that too. Just pray and ask God to lead you to a church where this truth is taught. God wants his people to have abundant lives--not barely getting by lives. His word says that he takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servants. Religion teaches you to take a vow of poverty. Now, I'm not talking about being materialistic or letting the things we have possess us, but to know that God 's will is that his children are blessed and prospered and have their needs met and to have all sufficiency so that they can give to others. This is the will of God in his word. Be blessed .
