The drag boat is coming along great! Yeah a removable deck with dummy V8 and a giant wing would look awesome for display! It is possible to make a clear driver cockpit windshield out of a plastic water or soda bottle. The thin plastic is easy to heat up and shape with a heat gun. Congrats on the 8K subs!! Can't wait to see more of this project. I'm in the middle of building a Classic Hydro's Hurricane 10 Kneeler from OSE at this moment. Pure bliss! I love building all wood boats as you do. Your DIY material is the best on TH-cam brother. Please keep it up. Cheers!
I've been messaging some sellers on ebay there's a couple smaller scale blown 3d printed v8 engines available but smaller in size, hopefully they can scale the size up for me. Check out RC DRVER he did a review on a toyan nitro? V8 motor yesterday it would be perfect for this boat if I were going nitro/methanol th-cam.com/video/nDCkTeWTxus/w-d-xo.html
@@IRONCLADRC Yeah those Toyan engines look awesome. It would probably be extremely heavy though. I used to work with Greg Vogel at RC Car Action many years ago. Super cool guy. I'm glad he continued in the RC media. I just sent you an email - check it out.
It only looks simple if you've never tried to build something that's bespoke. This adds some serious street cred to your already proven extensive boat prowess. Awesome stuff, I can't wait to see it's progress.
This build alone should put you above 10K. This boat is coming out crazy good. You're builds are keep getting better. When's your merchandise coming out. We need stickers hat shirts
Very cool home design and build from your cutting from scratch! I will suggest for the canopy use one for RC jet plane! No need to drive yourself NUTS!
Great job so far, especially without CAD design 👍. The twin flex shaft drive is sweet. Congrats on the 8k subs and for a next project.. i guess you don'f have a F1 tunnel boat yet 😉.
I must of overlooked your comment the other day, thanks a million. I think the flex shafts will be the ticket for adjustability especially with the custom build, no telling how she's gonna handle at speed? As for the tunnel hull no sir I don't own any tunnel hulls at the moment.
Congratulations on the subscriber milestone! I jumped on the boat gang somewhere around 4K subscribers I think. You were asking the other day about what projects we want to see Big B... I'm really liking this drag boat build personally! Think your doing an awesome job! Thanks for the videos! 👍
Thank you, that's about all I've been doing the past couple days, looking at the boat lol. That dern hatch has me stumped I've got the wood cut out hatch bones assembled but not what I've got in my mind. Slowly modifying the shape hopefully I'll have another update here in the next few days.
@@IRONCLADRC knowing you it will come out perfect. Haha just as well we dont charge by the hour..as people not in the hobby just wouldn’t understand the thinking time that goes into a build!! Ironclad R&D is expensive!!!👍🏻
Congrats on 8k subs! That drag boat is looking sweet, I'm interested how the whole motor/electronic setup is gonna work. Getting two drive shafts lined up seems like a pain but I know you'll be able to do it. Keep it up!
This seems like a great application for 3D printing the frame or even the bulkheads. You could still skin it with balsa or glass, whatever you're planning to do. Have you ever messed with that kind of thing?

More scratching my head than actual work lol
Love it BIG B, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 8K, can’t wait to see this thing go. This the 1st twin motor set up I’ve seen you tinker/build.
Looking good big B. Hopefully she'll be a ripper, as Cletus would say!!
Looking very gooood ! Big B!!!! I'm getting your package ready this weekend! Should be sent your way early next week!!
I sure appreciate it brother. Thank you
@@IRONCLADRC Absolutely!! No problem!!! Glad I'm sending it 2 you !!
Wicked build man! Looking forward to seeing more of it 👍
Following the updates. Probably first the world to build a RC TF dragboat !

Should try to find a scale dummy big block for scale appearance. Just a suggestion 😁
I've been looking for one, hard to find the right size most of the ones I've found are to small?
Looks cool can't wait to to see it rip
8001 subs! dont forget me,. warry likeble builder im fan,,. love the beat hobby
Thanks for the support brother
It being a bit wider you find it to be more stable
I hope so
Can you do a prop Dyno test ? use luggage scales to see the pulling power of each prop and data speed runs to the prop .
I've contemplated doing something like that in the past but never got past the thought stages
Noch out the bulkheads for extra strength bud.
90% of my joints are notched & or overlapped ive taken my time on this one.
Get it boooo! 😂
