Nice video. I am scared for you climbing over the broken layer. Get trapped in IMC. You seem like a great pilot. I got my license around 50 years of age. Safe travels!
Nice work! I'll be making my first xcountry in a few days. I guess I'm in the category of midlife pilot too! Having a blast as I'm sure you are. Keep up the good work.
This was great! I am doing a ride along next week to see if this is something I want to pursue. Would you mind sharing all your video and audio equipment and what you use to edit? It was very seamless and great angles
Thanks! I can give you a broad overview here - there's a much more in-depth video about it available for my Patrons at patreon.com/midlifepilot . Basically I'm using a variety of GoPros (including some REALLY OLD Hero 3). The interior cameras I'm powering with an external USB battery brick. For audio, I'm using a Zoom h3n recorder in 4-channel mode - recording a stereo track from the built in mics for the ambient sound, and using a 1/4" cable from a rear seat headset jack line in to the recorder.
@@MidlifePilot thanks! I just hunted down 3 used GoPro hero 8’s! 2 were still in the box so I’ll have a really good set up on my next flight. I got the FlightFix Crystal Audio jack for the headset too. Never heard of it but just getting tips on here like you gave. 👍🏼
Just subscribed. Glad to see you persistent and staying at it, your almost done! I’m married and 4 kids. I started flying at 14 and racked up 35 hours before high school and went to college for a professional pilot degree. I was my instructors first student in college and racked up another 40 hrs and still not PPL so I gave up years ago.. I stopped flying for 20+ years and just last year I did ground school and then training. I finally got my PPL in July! So here I am. Just started a YT channel to help share aviation with others. More importantly the younger generation! Checkout my channel if your interested. If you checkout my channel, my daughter was my first passenger and welp she got sick from the slight chop below 2000 agl. Good luck buddy and keep it up. You got tons of cameras so I may have questions for you. I gotta buy some.

Fun to watch dude, just knocked out my first solo today. Hoping to catch up to you soon I'm currently at 28 hours!
Congrats! Go get em!
I did my first solo at 28 hours too! If you don't mind, where are you at with your training now?
A N I’m based at KFXE. My dad flys for Southwest and also holds a CFI rating so he trains me on our own plane Part 61.
I did my solo at 15 hours, I was pretty nervous not gonna lie
Nicely done. Looking forward to doing my cross country flights. Home airport is CYQT.
Glad you’re back in action. Enjoy watching your channel. You’re doing great

Thanks! Learned a ton on that trip.
Congrats on your solo cross country
Thank you!
Great flight, thanks for sharing, wonder why speed at landing was 70?
A little bit much energy. He bounced the first touchdown.
Awesome content! Subscribed.
Almost done with paper sectionals now.
Enjoyed it!
Congrats. Id be careful about loose items in the cabin and the bag on co pilot floor. Be a horrible thing to have anything get under your pedals.
Thanks for watching and for the feedback. That’s a great tip.

You didn't do a very good preflight as you have an indian hiding in your baggage compartment.
Michael B. That’s our good luck charm! Found it out on a lesson dual cross country flight once and it’s been in the plane ever since!
I noticed it in the last video and wondered the same. I think everyone has a lucky charm they bring with them. I know I always have mine!
I don't buy it you should don't sound like a student pilot du.
