Happy NEWS YEARS 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤Everyone.🤙💯Prefect song to bring in the New year of 2025.Thanks for sharing BEAUTIFUL.We all know when we have been BLESSED with our LOVE.😇
i'm 62 and he still draw tears from me, tears with a happiness though. I see that ole gramaphone that my brothers and sisters wont let me touch but can only listen on Weekends. We're still all alive Alhamdulillah. I keep playing it over n overs whenever I'm in vehicle.
Popping up again and listening again. This song brings his loving lyrics straight to our hearts.Awesome is his voice.❤️🌹😇God bless everyone listening. He will be remembered through his music.
This was recorded in a cheap juke joint somewhere in Japan bc the American Music Industry didn't recognize him as a talent!!! One of the greatest R&B artist of all time!!!! ... Imagine that!
Truly Sad. Here All This Time...I Thought This Was An Al Green Jam. Who Knew...Not Me. But, Thanks To You YT...I've Found Out, Love Him And Will Buy His Music -Too...AMEN!!! May Mr. O.V. Wright ALWAYS RIHP...AMEN!!! #GoneTooSoon ✝️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💜💚✝️
This is amazing and sad a the same time. O.V. is either 39 or 40 here and as mrstanbmw said he was very very sick here and he looks so much older than his age here, but he is able to muster up enough strength to outsing anyone singing out here today and he's been gone for 31 years. You look at him and you just want to help him, but you also thank God for allowing us to see and hear such a rare talent as this. R.I.P. Overton Vertis Wright.
@tlharris40, You are so correct in describing this great singer. God has a plan,"I believe," for all of his children and I honestly believe He gave us Mr. O.V. Wright to sing until it touches our Soul. He certainly touched mines. I Thank you Mr. Wright.
It’s hard to imagine, but once upon a time dinosaurs walked the face of the earth. I’m so glad someone had the sense of filming one of those occasions.
I mean I love your music I love you you got beautiful boy the singer right and you tell the truth what other means like you what's the other men like you how old is any I love you and I love your music and God bless you and God bless the world
the one and only SOULman....heard him the first time prior an Al Jarreau Concert in Hamburg/Germany and was immediately fascinated by his voice and felt all his pain at once....god bless you O.V.
O.V.Wright had a voice that made you feel every song he sang. You could feel his pain and yet one of the best blues singers to me .Gone much too soon, but so grateful I can listen to his talented voice, sad he died so young, heartbreaking
I think my alltime favorite singer. Especially in his later days, where he sounds like he's missing some teeth. The soul sounds like it's taken right out of his life and heart.
The sad part about this performance was that he was a very sick man and he sounded better than his records what a giant of a talent this man was. I saw the Guitarist Robert Cray perform years ago and it did my heart good because he gave a shout out the brotha O.V. saying that this was the man he idolized growing up. the white folks in the audience didn't have a clue to who he was talking about lord knows I did. You know his boy was the late great James Carr who in my opinion was the greatest.
Just standing there as a Soul incarnated with the heart in his hands; and when the last verse came to an end, his stormy and sincere Soul slowly went back to eternity.
Thank you Mr. Wright for your courage and your love for your fans around the world! May the Spirit of the Lord forever keep you in the bosom of his arms.....Rest in Peace!
paul pollmann Thanks for the post Paul!!! Incredible....my parents knew OV Wright in his early days of singing gospel...he used to record for Don Robey in Houston
Thank you for posting this. It’s a real joy to see him in concert. I’ve had his live album for what seems a lifetime now and I’ve always adored the soulfulness and uniqueness of his voice, so to see as well as hear him, is something special.
O.V. Wright was only 40 years old when this was recorded & died the next year at 41. It's sad what drugs did too him, if I didn't know how old he was. By looking at him in this video I would of guessed he was in his early 70's. But regardless of that he is still one of my favorite singers of all time. R.I.P O.V. Wright October 9,1939-November 18,1980
he was a total discovery for me. a true gem. the most authentic sound i ve heard i n a long time. i dont know why every special people get so much strage circumstances arround them. Adicctions, dificult social or financial situations that leads them to create for needing of it , bring truth to the world, never get recognised and then die like he did. its so unfair. this man got style, voice, and the sound behind him benefited him a lot. May be it was the trend sound of his time but still it was so pure and beautiful. Another true pure soul lighting up like a big spark and getting off so early. wish at least he would get the recognition he deserved on his life time. I was so surprised it took me so long to discover him by other songs and samples... he was genuine in some way. dont know if he wrote the lyrics he sang...but omg....are you going wher i m coming from..have you been where im trying to go... thats so fucking beautiful and powerful.... i dont know why i love you.... another fire song.... this guy and the musicians with him were amazing, incredible, music fucking history. what a shame what society ignores and forget. this is a fucking gem. alongside other incredible artist without enough recognition. fuck life. incredibly beautiful...but a fucking shit. beautiful though. incredible.
@@shermawilliams2011 He is a legend! As long as people like us keeps his music going he'll never be forgotten. My son grew up to me listening to OV wright he is now 18 and plays him more than me. We got to keep real music alive through our kids. The same as my parents and grandparents did with me.
We can mostly need more love songs to help bring love back in this great country of our because we have so mixed information and lies and hate for not reason and our ememies love it because they cannot beat us no other way but to see us destroy each other so American let bring back our love back for all Americans come on we are all we got so let's get it done ❤❤❤
DO check out / dig up 2 pearls : Freddie Scott - the Shout lp ; Earl Gaines : the Hanna Barbera lp AND ...SOUNSTAGE 7 lp . Both are the same caliber as OV S Duke stuff. Jimmy Carr U must be awate of 3 lps Goldwax lbl. Also JOHNNY SAYLES, MCKINLEY MITCHELL = HARD DEEP SOUL FROM THE NOETH ...
Wow, this must have been recorded just shortly before the package show I saw him in at the Omni in Atlanta shortly before he died. Willis Edwards, B. B. King's road manager, saw him backstage and said he looked just awful - he had been losing so much weight that he had to put clothespins in the back of his clothes to take them up before he went on. But from the 4th or 6th row where I was, you couldn't tell, he looked good, he sounded good, & he just tore up the whole place.
SANG TH2 SONG MY BROTHER GOD BLESS OUR LOVE THANK GOD FOR.HIS. LOVE MERCY GRACE SALVATION. GOD U A AWESOME GOD MY MY MY I LIKE HUGGING 💋 U SQUEEZING U PUT GOD FIRST GOD IS LOVE. REAL LOVE COME FROM HIM GO D LORD I LOVE U MY MY SERVANT PAULING AGAPE

Good hearted, down to earth, hung with the wrong people and made bad decisions. (every body was his friend)
I think my alltime favorite singer. Especially in his later days, where he sounds like he's missing some teeth. The soul sounds like it's taken right out of his life and heart.

O.V. voice & style of singing takes you to church.

You're singing with the angels now O.V. God bless you brother...you're music is here for us to enjoy as long as we can.

Listen to James Carr, too! If it had not been for his mental challenges, he would have certainly done greater things.
Just standing there as a Soul incarnated with the heart in his hands; and when the last verse came to an end, his stormy and sincere Soul slowly went back to eternity.
Just rediscovered this great song. Omg it brought tears to my eyes.
Listen to this guy almost everyday.
