Gotta _love_ that jaded estate agent's brutal honesty, not devoid of humour, too! 😁

I like these videos and will recommend them to my learners. I also believe in presenting learners with Real Life English. However, I wish you posted versions without the subtitles. I think it's useful for students of all levels to see how much they can understand without this support and to help themunderstand that they don't need to understand everything to be able to follow the conversation. I ask learners to watch short YT videos with and without the subtitles as a short homework (1 - 3 min video , watch 3 times)

Thanks so much Jane! I hope your students enjoy our episodes… we do actually provide versions of all episodes without subtitles as part of our membership and licenses if you are interested?

Very funny stories. The state agent, the guy who sells houses and plots, told a true and interresting story. Draw out interresting stories like these should be main job for the people who do easylanguage.

Brighton seems to be a perfect place to meet all kind of interesting people!
I am a German living in Japan. I work as an author, an editor and a German teacher. To work with languages is the most enjoyable thing for me!
And I try to improve my language skills every day, that’s why I subscribed to this channel!

Brighton really is perfect; everyone has an interesting story or something to say. Perhaps everyone does, but Brighton is a very open and free city for expression, so perhaps this is why. I went to Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka) 3 years ago for a wild 7 days and absolutely loved it. I hope our channel helps! Please do suggest any content you'd like to see and thanks for your support :)

@@EasyEnglishVideos So good to hear that you enjoyed traveling in Japan! I live in Yokohama (Tokyo area, as you probably know), and I really like the people and the culture of Japan, although still fighting with the language even after years.
I like the content of your channel very much. The interviews are always helpful for learning some new vocabulary. But I’m also interested in videos about common mistakes or useful everyday phrases you usually do not find in textbooks. Looking forward to watching next week’s video!

@@Naoko1875 We are working on making a common mistakes/don't do this in England video soon!! I would love to spend more time in Japan for the same reasons, such a cliche, but it was such a culture shock to me, in a positive way, even though I feel like I only dipped my toes

I’ve had an experience working in social media industry and even a brush with stop motion animation, right now I’m an english language tutor for young students. Teaching the language I adore gives me a lot of gratification, especially once the students start to move up in fluency and improve their general language command. The best perk is flexibility and connection with the younger generation (6 year difference counts as 20 for me, we are so far apart in interests and worldviews!). Besides, I find teaching a great chance to work on my communication skills and set the mind to creative approaches to the lessson.

I came over from Easy Italian the other day and got hooked with your interviews. I liked to listen to different British accents and everyday conversations. I guess I'll stick to your channel. ;) I am a freelance designer from Germany doing branding and web design and what I like most about my job is that I get a glimpse into many different branches. It never gets boring. :)

Training assistant = stacking shelves. Oh these euphemisms. Here in the States where I live, the people working at the gas (that's "petrol" for you) station have orange vests on saying FUEL AMBASSADOR. BTW I am a free-lance translator and German instructor, but have worked as a full-time translator/interpreter for 16 years and then moved into part-time teaching (adult ed and college). Does not pay much, you do it because you love languages :-).

Is the 3:48 lady South African? The blond dude doesn’t really pronounce the T when he says promoting. Is that a common way of saying it? I thought unlike Americans British people did pronounce the ts quite audibly. Can we have information on the people’s accent? Being this is a language channel? This is like my secret pleasure after work! Love this channel! ❤️ miss the funny videos you make with easy ? isi ? IZZI?

Thanks Klimt! We love making the home videos and they will return soon. We just missed getting to interview people so much during the last 18 months. There are certain accents in England that have the glottal stop (that's right; there's even a name for it). Maybe I should actually ask everyone where they're from and list it as there are some contrasting accents here. But you're right the blonde lady has a South African accent

Many British people do a glottal stop where there's a "t" like in "promoting". It's actually very common. The lady sounds Australian to me but I struggle sometimes to tell SA and AUS accents apart!

I have never heard ‘what do you do for a job?’
It’s a very unnatural construction with this particular noun.
‘What do you do for work?’
‘what do you do for a living?’ are both acceptable.
If you want to use the word ‘job’ you’d have to rephrase and ask ‘what kind of job’ someone has.
