One guy that we forget too often in this is the pianist. He was able to play beautifully with the crowd and Lara singing not at the same time and pace. What a legend !
That's because the fans arranged the whole thing with the pianist ahead of time. It was all planned in advance.

The crowd even changed the words from "je t'aime" = "I love you" to "on t'aime" = "we love you". Everyone loves Lara except the management of Celine Dion, who fought her starting a career in the USA in even threatening managers of musical stages who planned to do concerts with her. She quit trying it and returned to the French-speaking world, where her fans learned of her disappointment and planned to surprise her on this concert. Lara said, this experience restored her will to proceed.
Would you expect any less from the Pretend Cardboard Cartoon Character Dion. Lara has proven for Decades she is the GOAT of Canadian Female Singers.
@@toddstevens13 actually Dion and Lara were both equally amazing. The issue was the producer who became Dion's husband later. There was obvious favoritism which is bad, but not even close to as bad as it really was: Dion husband started courting her when she was 16... This dude was a total creep way, way older - idk by how much but when this happened I remembered he already had gray hair and kinda looked like this dude that was the cause of the #metoo movement.

I have to give a little background by this song. Lara Fabian was going through a very difficult time personally & professionally.
Because of this, a group of her fans decided to surprise her and sing her own song to her. And the whole stadium chimed in. Can you imagine that maybe 10.000 fans singing your song to lift you up? "Je t'aime" means I love you, but her fans sing to her "on t' aime" and that means we love you. This singing for her by her fantastic fans; made her very emotional towards the end of the song.
Absolutely magical and touching to see how this crowd was lifting her spirit up by doing this. Later she said that because of this: she knew that life was worth living further!

This song "Je T'aime" (I love you) is Lara’s original song, and probably is her most famous and well-known song around the world (along with “Adagio”). This video is from Lara’s concert “Nue” in Paris in 2002. It really shows how much Lara’s fans love and support her. Here is a short story behind that performance: Lara had some serious problems in her professional and personal life at that time (2000-2002); she even had suicidal thoughts. Her fans new about that and they wanted to express their love and support to Lara on her concert in Paris. A group of Lara’s fans approached her pianist and musical director Pierre Grimard before the concert and agreed that they will begin to sing that song "Je T'aime" before Lara. When they sang for her they changed the words «Je t'aime" (I love you) to “On t’aime” which means “We love you”. The entire audience (more than 6000 people!) sang for her. Can you imagine this? Lately Lara said that during this moment she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it.

I'm French and not a Lara Fabian fan by a very far shot but I can't dismiss the intensity of the love moving from the crowd to Lara and back to them. This is the goal of music, and when it's done this way one can only bow down in front of it.

To my knowledge, Lara didn't perform "Je Suis Malade" on her Nue concert tour. She performed it on "From Lara with Love (2000)", "En Toute Itimité (2003)" and a plethora of other occasions, but I do not find on the full concert track of "Nue" from 2002.

The piano player knew that the audience wanted to sing to her. She was a having hard time in her life and they wanted to let her know that they loved her. J’taime means I love you. They are singing on taime which means we love you.

The more one hears about the rivalry between Lara and Celine it becomes obvious that is a one way rivalry. All of it is on Celine.. They are both so beautifully talented one almost feels sorry for Celine's insecurity. Wonder if she has the loyal, adoring fans Lara obviously has?
