  • Welcome to the official VRIC channel, Today on the channel, Matthew Piepenburg presents a bearish outlook on traditional markets due to an impending debt, credit, and currency crisis, forecasting negative real interest rates and inflation over the next 6-7 years. The panel also foresees reshoring of manufacturing to the U.S. and an opportunity in industrials. They stress the importance of preserving wealth through diversification, focusing on assets that can't be easily manufactured, and managing risks like over-concentration and leverage in portfolios.

From my observation and historical market pattern, there might be a bit of turbulence in the market coming up, but here's the deal: Trying to guess what's going to happen next is less important than spreading your bets when trading and thinking long term. It's not about guessing the market's next move. it's about playing it smart and steady...managed to grow a nest egg of around 180k to a decent 832k in the space of a few months...

It's always advisable to Invest judiciously, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target, I recommend a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run.

Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.

I completely agree; I am in my mid 40s, approaching retirement, and have approximately over 2million dollars in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor can only be neglected, not rejected. Just do your due diligence to identify a fiduciary one.

Before you start investing, it's crucial to understand the basics of investing, different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.), and the associated risks. are you investing for retirement, buying a home, or building an emergency fund? Your goals will help shape your investment strategy.

    • @phillogan1

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversification means spreading your investments across different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate) and within those classes (different companies or industries). This helps reduce risk.

I Invest in low-cost index funds or ETFs that track broad market indices, such as the S&P 500. These funds offer diversification across a wide range of stocks and can be a more passive, low-maintenance investment option. They are suitable for investors who prefer a hands-off approach and want exposure to the overall market.

Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

As a portfolio manager myself, there are so many undervalued stocks out there. I love select gold mining stocks as well as the insurance sector and oil. Definitely not the S&P. But massive money printing keeps stocks elevated. I was shaking my head 10 years ago when people said stocks would crash. Stocks dont crash when the currency is crushed.
