The lyrics that just hung there during the instrumental section of 'I'm Not In Your Mind' are oddly taken from the live version of the song from the 'Live in SF '16" album o_O
I case you haven't noticed it yet, the flute melody in Hot Water is a musical reference to one of the guitar solos in Robot Stop from Nonagon Infinity.
other way around, this album was 2 years earlier
@@goawayinternet you're right
I had heard Robot Stop alone and loved it for a while before I decided to go into IIYMF and then Nonagon in its entirety, and that Hot Water riff was one of my favorites parts of the whole song
Hearing that melody in Hot Water (with no idea it being in Robot Stop was a reference to any previous song at all) got me hyped as hell
Those lyrics are from when they played the mind fuzz medley in San Francisco in 2016. Whoever filmed it had multiple angles and one of the cameras got tossed into the audience at some point and those are Joey’s words trying to get the camera back up to the stage because the camera was crowd surfing basically. I’m not sure why Spotify added that to the lyrics but if you find that show on Gizz’s TH-cam page you can see where that happens.
The dostorted harmonica really just puts this album over the top in the best possible way.
This is the jam music ive been lookong for my entore life.
Gizz is beyond insane.
Am I In Heaven? is probably one of the best closing songs during a live set. Her and I, The River, and Work This Time are also top contenders.
Gotta add Float Along - Fill Your Lungs to that list of closers. So beautiful, it bought a tear to my eye.
I got the EXTREMELY RARE Head On/Pill closer at The Caverns Night 3 and it was absolutely stunning.
@@t17389zcaverns shows looked sick. The 30 minute dripping tap jam at the end of night 2 Remlinger changed me
Float along - fill your lungs Night 3 of Remlinger was beautiful
Osees (or Thee Oh Sees) would be another great band to react to, they are a major influence for King Gizzard. I recommend something like "Nite Expo" or "Sticky Hulks", both have KEXP versions as well. Love the reactions! Can't wait for more and more Gizz albums.
The Oh Sees KEXP vids are excellent, and kinda in a similar way to Gizz, are an excellent launching point into their discography -- and beyond that... soooo much content to delve into, from their early freak folk style stuff as OCS, their more garage/psych rock stuff as Thee Oh Sees, the newer more punky stuff as Osees, and all the early and side projects, from punchy garage rock (Coachwhips, Zeigenbock Kopf, etc) to Johns more solo stuff (Damaged Bug) to crazy jazzy experimental compositions that combine all of the above elements with synth, ambient, and noise elements (Witch Egg, Moon Drenched, Gong Splat, etc) - not forgetting The 12" Synth, an absolute beast synth odyssey.
Yes to this
They were playing 2 drummers live here, but Cavs was still writing everything.
Eu estava ansioso pra ver você reagindo a esse disco do KGLW. Eu conheci a banda com esse álbum!
Next time! Next time, I'll be there too!
If it wasn't for the sleep schedule that is very much influenced by my work schedule I would have been there during all of you recent streams!
Love your reactions!
Was gutted I overslept and missed this one live, glad the youtube rubbish is over and can catch it here!
Highly recommend her and I from the latest run of shows, there’s a couple great vids out there. It might be their best long form style jam and gets better and better.
Glad I got to see this one Live! First time. One of my favorites
DUDE YES!!! i love am i in heaven so much, i have it tattooed on my chest and when i was at the berkeley marathon show they ended with it and i started crying lol, one of the best nights of my life, am i in heaven is in the top 3 gizz songs of all time for me
I was there for that one and I agree! 3 hour marathon ending with this song was literally life changing
Yo mate! Murder of the universe is another great one 😎
watching your videos just reaffirms to me why i love this band so much. cheers man
The lyrics in im not in your mind are from the live in San Francisco 16 album
The “lyrics” from I’m Not in Your Mind is actually stage banter from a live version of the song (San Francisco ‘16 on streaming platforms) where they were recording the show to post on TH-cam. Stu was fucking around with the camera during the drum and bass breakdown, and then Joey passes the camera through the crowd to a particularly tall gizz fan, who promptly takes the camera into the mosh pit for Cellophane. The video is on TH-cam, just look up “king gizz San Francisco ‘16” and you can find the full show.
The noise you like from this album is 1/16 ish delay is 3 or 4 taps (repeats)on the harmonics above the fret board.
You need to do a reaction to the Murder of the Nonagon Fuzz. It's like a spliced collection of their music videos up to Murder of the Universe
I got into Gizz around 2013. When this album came out it immediately became my "baseline" Gizz album. Can return to this ANY time.
I remember when they played Am I in Heaven? Live during the Night Cat shows in 2017 and it blew my mind, it was a surreal experience.
@walterooski, the crazy sound you were wondering how to replicate at 48:46 is made by with a carbon copy delay. there are a few explanations on how to get that sound here on youtuve
The lyrics on I’m Not In Your Mind are what Stu says right before they transition into cellophane in the Live in San Francisco ‘16 version of the song
holy crap FOINALLYMORE GIZZARD
When you get to Murder of the Universe do yourself a favor and watch their KEXP live session (the one with an audience) it's just nonsense! And you get to see how they make all that noise
Getting in a bath, and playing Hot Water, 10/10 experience.
I get an environmental message from Hot Water and Am I In Heaven
21:08 oooh fuck is right man, that riff is gnarly
1:04:52 they straight up sampled Country Honk by the Rolling Stones (country version of Honky Tonk Women from Let It Bleed)
the slow section at 35:20 becomes normal on the vinyl if you put it up to 44 speed
If you think this harmonica work is Great, you're gonna go nutz for the blues boogie on Fishing for Fishies.
Joey's style improves every year, but I do feel at one point he is going to turn into Gareth Liddiard.
btw I saw someone mention Thee Oh Sees in the chat-- if you aren't familiar DEFINITELY check them out too, I think you'd like their music
With this comment they are officially added to the list. Those guys seem to be a recurring theme so it’s time to find out why 😂 Stay frosty, homie.
@Walterooski this is missing from the Gizz Reaction playlist!
Got it added! Good looking out!
@@walterooski You're the man! Looking forward to the next release for my own enjoyment but also to watch your reaction!
after being killed by bellatrix lestrange, Sirius Black decided to pursue a career in reacting to KGLW albums on youtube, i see.
i am always working the wednesdays that you do these live but what i wouldnt GIVE to be there to experience this live!
Pause it too much
Oh yes! The "that's right? I ate acid and tripped n fell onto the set of the munsters" record. 😂👍 theres a place in France boys! I heard it in s song! Trust me on this.......
