ASMR Writing a troublesome love letter - No talking - Dip pen & gold ink - Quiet, hypnotic, relaxing

- Titania is a fairy. Trouble! She is under a spell of love. Double trouble! She is the Queen of fairies. Triple trouble! Titania is not only under a spell of love, but her love object is a human man... and she wants to keep him in her forest no matter what.
The content of this letter is extracted from A Midsummer’s Night Dream, a Shakespeare play where much mischief happens. It is an entertaining story with a powerful aestheitc of its own and has many movie adaptations.
This is a light informal calligraphy exercise testing a beautiful glass dip pen, which is something difficult to master. The whimsical doodles adorning the text include a feathered wing, flowers, musical notes, a heart and arrow, a forest, jewels,the symbol of union, a fire flame, and wind symbols. I wanted to make her signature both modern and casual, but also regal.
The 1999 movie adaptation of this play is a feast to the senses and has a great cast. I would love to watch a new adaptation with that same cast but this time in a 21st century scenario.

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and it is a form of paresthesia (that tingling sensation that happens on your skin sometimes, and yes the typical pins and needles that sometimes people feel on their skin are also a form of paresthesia), often starting on the head and moving down spine and rest of the body like a wave, commonly known as ""tingles"". ASMR is usually triggered by audio or visual stimuli, and the triggers are diffeernt for every individual person. Researching ASMR is difficult, but from the neurology side it is already known that the brain areas stimulated are the medial prefrontal cortex (associated with social behaviors) and the secondary somatosensory cortex (associated with the sensation of touch). Not everyone experiences ASMR, but exploring varied potential triggers and the work of different ASMRtists sometimes helps. Even people who do not feel ""the tingles"" may listen or watch ASMR content to help them relax, sleep, and even get into a meditative state as ASMR content is usually pleasant and peaceful, promoting resting and wellbeing.

It is! Context: the pen is quite new so the glass tip needs friction to get polished and make writing easier. This letter practice helps to polish the tip and get to know this pen. To be fair, I think the type of ink is not helping, I have to try with different ones until finding the type that works best. Despite the difficulty, it was very satisfying and required a lot of focus so the session was very relaxing.
