I'm in the UK, in my 50s after last using a total station in the early 2000s, now face going back to 'setting out' using equipment a few generations more advanced than those I used to be familiar with - a Geomax Zoom 10. That means you are too far out of level. You first need to level the gun with the "bulls eye" level bubble by adjusting the legs. When you get close enough your display will change. Here is what a "bulls eye" level looks like. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull%27s_eye_level
Can you tell me about how this total station handle the the weather because I use to work with leica and sokkia before and they handle the cold and the hot weather very good but they are very expensive
I did not get a chance to use it in cold weather. However, I did use it in Texas heat with no issues. I also used it in light rain with no issues. the issue with shooting a laser in the rain is at the laser light refracts through the raindrops so if it's too heavy it won't work well.( Bad distance shots) Some people at my company do use the geomax zoom 90 r robotic instrument in the excessive cold. And it seems to work fine for them. I did get a chance to use that robotic version for a little bit and it's much better than the 10r for a single man crew.
Which one are you fighting with, and what would you like to know about this instrument? I am not a sales person for GeoMaxx, I just had to use with a company I worked for. I can only tell you about my experiences with it.
The worst instrument I had.Just the fact it stores 2 points if you need an offset and puts you through multiple menues for that shows the people who designed it never worked. I got a used leica TS and its much better.

1. Check your setup and make sure your instrument point and your back sight points are correct.- often these can be reversed and that will make you map inverted, because your instrument thinks you are facing the opposite direction 2. Check your export options to be sure you exported in the same order as you imported the points into CAD.( i.e. PNEZD -Point, Northing, Easting, Elevation, Description)

Hi, my RTS when you press the Function button, taking option F1, (Level plumet) on the screen it displays OUT OF TOLERAN , what does that imply

I think you need to get it in for service on that one. If you can't un-tighten it by hand then something is really wrong.
